The body is easy to remove, with two clips at the back and two clips at the front. Once you detach the body, you’ll find the keyboard plugged in for the front LEDs. Just pull out the cable and set it aside.

Suspension and Flexibility
All you need is four Triple. As for your transmitter in terms of suspension and everything like I said, it is just friction shocks, but you can make them. Oil filled shocks, but you do get some nice Flex from these rigs as standard. So you know when youre crawling uh, you do get. You know really nice Flex. Now, if you do oil fill the shocks um, then its less bouncy, but also when youre crawling with that Flex, its a lot more stable. So you get that nice kind of movement. So, in my opinion, I would oil feel the shocks but, like I said I appreciate not, everybody wants to do it.
Bind Button and Lights
Press the bind button on the transmitter youd like to come on. Okay, so youve just got front LED headlights on the uh on the Power Wagon theres, no other lights on it, its just the um, the headlights now theres a couple of simple things: you can do to make it better Straight Out of the Box. Ive got a video on some simple mods that you can do to make this thing better straight away: uh videos on the K5 Blazer, but the same thing applies to the Power Wagon Ill. Put a link in the description to that. If you want to check it out, just some simple things, you can do to give yourself more steering angle and a bit of better drivability.
Size and Scale
So size wise. I would say the Power Wagon is more of a 24th scale rig.
If you look at the size of the FMS FCX24 Power Wagon 1/24 Scale RTR Crawler compared to the SCX24 in blue, you will notice that they are much closer in size. Both are obviously 24th scale. Then, there is the Traxxas TRX4M, which is 1/18 scale. In my opinion, the FCX24 Power Wagon is more of an 18th scale rather than a 24th scale.
Choosing Between the K5 and the Power Wagon
When deciding between the K5 or the Power Wagon, if you want something that is more 24th scale, then the Power Wagon would be the better choice. Personally, I love the K5 body. It is my favorite FCX24 body as I think it looks fantastic. So, if I had to choose, I would go with the FCX24K5. However, the Power Wagon also looks really cool.
Size Comparison with Different Rigs
To give you an idea of the size comparison between the different rigs, namely the TRX4M, SCX24, and FCX24, I have a comparison video of the FCX24K5 versus the SCX24 and the TRX4M. I will provide a link in the description for you to check it out if you want to see how they compare. Ultimately, it is up to you to make your own decision.
In my opinion, out of the box, the FCX24 is a better performer than the TRX4M. You may disagree with me, and that’s okay. I am not a Traxxas hater, as I actually love Traxxas. My TRX4 is my go-to 1/10 scale rig. However, when it comes to the smaller 1/24 scale, the FCX24 takes the lead in my book.

It has been raining, making the ground quite sticky. This might pose some challenges for the FMS FCX24 Power Wagon 1/24 Scale RTR Crawler when it comes to grip. However, let’s give it a try and see how it performs.
The tires of the crawler appear to be getting jammed up with mud, which is expected given the conditions. Nevertheless, it seems to be handling the muddy terrain reasonably well. I have previously run my K5 through water, so let’s test if the FCX24 is waterproof as well.
Driving through the water, the crawler continues to function without any issues. It seems to be holding up well so far. The real test will be how it performs on rough terrain, specifically on some roots, and how the tires handle the ground clearance.

I’ll try to maintain a constant throttle and see if it can climb over without any issues. Surprisingly, it tackles the obstacle effortlessly. Unlike my trx4m, especially in its stock form, which would hit the rope or route and come to a sudden stop, requiring more throttle to overcome it. The slow speed control on this crawler is commendable, one of the best actually, especially for an RTR (Ready-to-Run), considering its price point and features. This is truly impressive.
Tires and Performance
The tires on the FMS FCX24 Power Wagon are decent, but I must confess, the tires on the K5 are better. The K5 tires are specifically designed for mud terrain, and while they perform well on roots and similar surfaces, the Power Wagon’s tires fall slightly short in comparison. However, considering the Power Wagon has less weight up top due to its body design, it feels more stable out of the box. This stability adds to the overall performance and handling of the crawler.
One notable feature of the FMS FCX24 Power Wagon is its water resistance. Even after going in the water, the shocks are still working perfectly. This is a great advantage as it allows you to enjoy off-roading without worrying about damaging your crawler’s components. So you know thats a good sign as well. Like I said, Ive ran my K5 in the water and everything without any problems. Ive ran the Smasher in the water without any problems yeah. I do think they are pretty uh pretty waterproof. You know I would say, for the price, this has got to be one of the best ready to run mini Crawlers on the market. You know with everything you get with it. I think the value for money is just excellent. If you want an fcx24 but youre, not sure which one to go for, if youre not faster than the K5 body, then I would say this one probably performs a little bit better out of the box than the K5 other than the tires.
