What is up guys. My name is Mark C welcome back to the channel. Welcome back to the RC Vlog guys we have a new one today, and this one is by one of my favorite companies in the entire world. Techno RC.
Some of you guys who are Racers, might already know what this is. However, I am super stoked about it. Super stoked I actually already drove one of these. I tested out one of the prototypes, but first off look. Look at this thing. Look at how thin the box is.
The Techno SCT410 2.0
Yes, yes, Boom the new Techno SCT410 2.0. So, if you’re wondering why Techno came out with another short course after they just released the SCT 410 SL, it’s because this one is based on a scale platform where the SL is actually based on a 10 scale platform.
Now what that means is the SL will probably perform better on, like a true 10 scale track where it’s not as large, it’s kind of smoother, its indoor, those type of tracks. However, this one is built for a scale tracks, which the cool thing about short course is. You can run them both at a scale and 10 scale races.
A Scale vs. 10 Scale
I personally, like the a scale cars a little bit better. I feel like they’re a little more forgiving. One of the reasons why I haven’t run the SCT 410 SL. That much is because I don’t have any true 10 scale tracks in my area.
But this SCT410 2.0 is perfect for the scale tracks. The build on this thing is just phenomenal. I absolutely love the look of it. The slim profile of the box hints at the sleek design awaiting inside.

When you open the box, you’ll be greeted with all the necessary parts for the build. The first thing that caught my eye was the high-quality materials used. The body of the SCT410 2.0 is made from durable polycarbonate, and the chassis is constructed from strong, lightweight aluminum.

The long-awaited release of the new Tekno SCT410 2.0 has finally arrived, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. As an avid RC car enthusiast, I have been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to get my hands on this incredible machine. From what I’ve seen so far, it promises to be everything I could ever want in a scale truck.
One of the things that immediately caught my attention about the Tekno SCT410 2.0 is its forgiving nature. As a driver who isn’t exactly the best, I appreciate having a car that can handle slight mistakes without penalizing me too heavily. In my experience with the prototype version, I often found myself shorting things or accidentally hitting obstacles. However, the truck soaked up the impact and kept on going, making the overall experience much more enjoyable. This forgiveness is a valuable feature, especially for drivers like me who appreciate a little room for error.
Another exciting addition to the package is the Techno Short Course Wheels. Finally, my beloved Tekno short course trucks have their very own set of wheels. These wheels are the perfect offset and come in an attractive black finish. I will definitely be using them on my build, as they complement the truck’s design perfectly.

If you’ve never built a Tekno kit before, let me assure you that they are a joy to assemble. The pieces fit together seamlessly, and I have rarely encountered any errors along the way.

The build process of the new Tekno SCT410 2.0 is relatively straightforward and simple. There were only a few minor errors, such as a measurement screw error, but they were easily manageable.
Building the Differentials
Building the differentials was a breeze. They were very straightforward and didn’t require referencing the manual. The only precaution I took was cleaning the set screws with rubbing alcohol to ensure proper curing of the Loctite.
Installing the Hubs and Bearing Carrier
The new design of the hubs is a welcome update. Previously, there was a risk of breaking the hub while clamping it onto the axle with a set screw. However, the new design eliminates this risk by using a set screw that screws into the axle. This improvement adds durability to the hubs.
A notable feature of the new short course is the inclusion of universals. Universals provide better torque transfer and improve overall drivetrain efficiency. Having them included in the kit is a great added value.
The Mechanism: Universals
If you’re not familiar with universals, they are a vital mechanism that connects the axle and drive shaft in high-end builds. Personally, this is one of my least favorite parts of the process. Building the turnbuckles is easy, but incredibly time-consuming. To make things easier, I used some grease to lubricate the turnbuckles. I had a tub of utter butter lying around, so I decided to give it a try. I had heard that some people use chapstick, but utter butter seemed like a good alternative. However, I can’t say for sure if it’s safe for plastic.
No Adjustable Hinge Pins?
One thing that struck me as a little odd is the absence of adjustable hinge pins on this new model. In the past, I used to do a lot of tuning with adjustable hinge pins, so it’s surprising to not have this option available. However, on the short course, I didn’t find the need to tune it extensively as it performed quite well straight out of the box. It’s certainly an interesting choice to exclude adjustable hinge pins, and only time will tell if it’s a good or bad decision.
An Update: Front Spindles
One cool update I noticed is on the front spindles. The pin that holds the spindle in place now has a set screw that goes all the way through. I really appreciate this change because I always had concerns about whether my set screws were pushing against the pin with enough force. Now, with the set screw going all the way through, I can have more confidence in the stability of the front spindles.
The Robust Front End
Building the new Tekno SCT410 2.0 is an experience unlike any other. If you’ve had the chance to construct any of the newer Tekno models, you’ll understand what I’m talking about. The front end of this truck is exceptionally sturdy and less prone to any parts coming loose. It’s a major milestone in the building process, as the car begins to take shape. However, it’s important to note that even though it looks like a complete car, you’re only about halfway done at this point.
Putting the Shocks Together
One crucial step in the build is assembling the shocks. While the mounting of electronics and overall setup may be handled for you, it’s essential for you to personally put the shocks together. Pay careful attention to the screw sizes during this process. I must admit that I made a mistake by using the wrong screw to secure the piston. There are two different screw sizes, and it’s crucial to take note of this. Make sure you double-check and triple-check the screw sizes to avoid any mishaps.
10 Scale Shocks and Diffs
The shocks used in the new Tekno SCT410 2.0 are 10 scale shocks, which differ from the shock size used in the old sct410.3 model. This change also applies to the diffs, as they are now smaller in size. It’s unclear why Tekno made this adjustment, but it could be for various Roar-related reasons. These modifications, although mysterious in their motivation, do not concern me as much as the overall performance of the vehicle. The 10 scale shocks and solid diffs are sure to deliver an incredible driving experience.
A Cool Addition: License Plate Mount
One particularly interesting feature of the new Tekno SCT410 2.0 is the license plate mount on the rear bumper. This addition, seemingly inspired by Roar regulations, adds an extra touch of authenticity to the truck. While I may not fully comprehend the motivation behind this addition, I appreciate Tekno’s attention to detail and desire to provide a comprehensive and realistic experience for their users.

The Build Process
During the build of the new Tekno SCT410 2.0, I found myself entertained by various TV shows while taking notes on the assembly process. I chuckled at episodes of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and The Big Bang Theory, occasionally switching over to catch some football. Admittedly, I took a brief break to remove the electronics from my old short course truck, but soon resumed the exciting build.
The Servo Mount
One notable aspect of the build was the servo mount. I decided to add a small spacer to elevate the servo slightly. Previously, the servo had been firmly positioned on the plastic s skirt, which didn’t sit well with me. I had concerns that it would forcefully collide with the ground and potentially damage the servo. Thus, I opted to lift it off the chassis by using the spacer. Thankfully, Tekno made updates to the servo mount, providing a larger space for the wires to pass through. This improvement was a relief, as many newer servos come with connectors that can be detached. Unlike my experience with the current eb48 2.1, where I had to modify the servo mount using a dremel tool to accommodate the wires, the new design made the process much smoother.
The Chassis layout
One aspect of the build that impressed me the most was the new chassis layout. Everything seemed to fit perfectly, with ample space for the ESC to sit comfortably. It’s a well-designed layout that allows for easy installation and maintenance of components. The designers at Tekno have truly optimized the space within the chassis, ensuring that there are no unnecessary complications during the build process.

While the build process overall was smooth and enjoyable, I did encounter a few areas that could be improved. One thing worth noting is the absence of guidelines regarding the height at which the body post should be mounted. It’s up to the user to experiment and determine the ideal position based on the body being used.
