The Search for a Larger Lancia Delta
When you think of RC cars, the image of small, speedy vehicles zooming around a track may come to mind. But what if you wanted something bigger, something that truly stands out? That’s exactly what I found myself searching for after my recent trip to Len Hill.
A Ready-to-Run 1/8 Scale Lancia Delta
After scouring the internet for hours, I stumbled upon a miraculous find – a ready-to-run 1/8 scale Lancia Delta. This was exactly what I was looking for, a larger version of the iconic car that I could add to my RC collection.
The Perfect Body
Upon further investigation, I discovered a 1/8 scale Lancia Delta body made by Delta plastic specifically designed for on-road cars. I couldn’t resist the temptation, imagining how great it would look on my hyper GT rally car.
It took some time and effort, but I finally managed to get everything together and complete the transformation. And oh boy, does it look fantastic! Behold, my brand new Lancia Delta inspired rally car.
A Fast and Furious Beast
Now, let’s talk about the speed. This RC car is no slouch. With its larger size and powerful motor, it accelerates with a furious intensity. I can’t help but feel a sense of awe every time I see it zoom past me.
The Lancia Delta may have been known for its speed on the real roads, but this RC version lives up to the legacy with its exhilarating performance.
A Dream Come True
For fans of the Lancia Delta, this RC car is a dream come true. Its larger size and attention to detail make it a standout among other RC vehicles. The body design truly captures the essence of the original car, and the performance matches its appearance.
I couldn’t be happier with how this project turned out. It was a labor of love, and the final result is beyond my expectations. The joy of building and customizing RC cars never ceases to amaze me.
In , my journey to build a big Lancia Delta Integrale RC car has been a thrilling one. From the search for the perfect body to the completion of the project, every step was filled with excitement and anticipation. And now, I have a fast and furious beast that I can proudly show off.
Disappointments with the body
Now there are a couple of things that I’m slightly disappointed about with this body, and I’m going to talk about those now. The first thing is the decals. They’re not quite the same as what you see in the pictures. This body was a real challenge to paint up. It didn’t even come with window masks, so I spent hours masking the body before I could even start painting it. Don’t get me wrong, though. I think the final result is really cool. Everyone can see that this is inspired by the world-famous rally car, but it’s not quite what I wanted.
Mounting issues
Another issue I had was actually mounting it to the hyper GT. The front doesn’t look too bad, but on the rear, there is quite a lot of space. I tried for ages to get this body centered, even dremeling off some of the plastic on the front bumper and removing the foam to try and get it to fit properly. But even then, it still doesn’t sit right. I think what I’m going to do is actually remove quite a bit more of the bumper. By shifting everything back, I think it will look really good.
Showcasing the RC car
Now, let’s talk about the car’s performance. Under the body, lies a beast waiting to be unleashed. This big Lancia Delta Integrale RC car is fast! Its powerful motor and well-designed suspension system make it a true speed demon. The wide tires provide excellent grip, allowing it to tackle corners with ease. The precise steering ensures optimal control, giving you the confidence to navigate through any track. Whether you’re racing against friends or practicing your skills, this RC car delivers an exhilarating experience.
An enthusiast’s dream
For car enthusiasts, building and customizing RC cars is a passion. The attention to detail and the thrill of seeing your creation come to life is simply unmatched. And with the Lancia Delta Integrale RC car, the possibilities are endless. You can upgrade various components, fine-tune the suspension, and even customize the body to your liking. It’s a hobby that combines craftsmanship and performance, allowing you to express your creativity while pushing the limits of speed and control.
The need for continuous improvement
Despite the disappointing aspects of the body and the mounting issues, building and modifying RC cars is an ongoing process of refinement. It’s not always smooth sailing, and there will be challenges along the way. But the satisfaction of overcoming obstacles and improving your creation is what makes this hobby so rewarding. With each modification and adjustment, you learn more about the intricacies of RC car mechanics and gain valuable skills that can be applied to future projects.
The thrill of the ride
Once everything is set up and ready to go, it’s time to hit the track and experience the thrill of racing. The sound of the motor revving, the adrenaline pumping through your veins, and the excitement of competing against others create an electrifying atmosphere. Racing RC cars is not only a test of skill and precision but also a way to connect with fellow enthusiasts and be part of a vibrant community. The camaraderie and friendly rivalry make every race a memorable experience, and as you push your RC car to its limits, you’ll discover new levels of
I BUILT A BIG LANCIA DELTA INTEGRALE RC CAR & ITS FAST!!
Changes for Increased Speed
I’ve also made some changes to my Lancia Delta Integrale RC car to improve its speed. During my last run, I was only able to reach a speed of 35 mph, which is quite slow for a 4S car. One of the main reasons for this was the small pinion it had. It used to have a 14 or 15 tooth pinion, but now I have upgraded it to a larger 22 tooth pinion. This change alone should give us a significant boost in speed.
Upgraded ESC
In addition to the pinion gear, I have also replaced the ESC. The new one is actually from the FTX dr8, but it is essentially a rebranded Max 8 from hobbywing. This ESC is capable of handling up to 150 amps and can even be used with 6S batteries. With this upgrade, we can expect better performance and smoother power delivery.
Gyro for Stability
To ensure better stability during high-speed runs, I have fitted the Dumbo RC receiver with a gyro. The gyro technology will help us keep the car balanced and stable, making it easier to control at top speeds. This is crucial for maintaining control, especially when making sharp turns or navigating obstacles.
Improved Grip with GRP Wheels
An important factor in achieving better overall performance is the tires. I have opted for these high-quality GRP wheels, paired with medium compound tires. These tires provide excellent grip on the road, allowing for better traction and stability. With increased grip, we can push the car to its limits without worrying too much about loss of control.
An On-Road Car with Capabilities
While some viewers have pointed out that this Lancia Delta Integrale RC car is not a true rally car, but rather an on-road car with a rally body shell, I can’t help but agree. However, whether it’s on-road or off-road, this car has proven to be incredibly capable. As you can see from the video, it handles exceptionally well and performs admirably in various conditions. The body may not be designed for rough off-road terrains, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a blast with it.
Today, however, I have decided to keep the car strictly on-road. The main reason for this is to avoid any potential damage to the body. After all, I’ve put in a lot of effort to build and customize it, and I want to ensure its longevity. Nevertheless, the car’s performance and speed on the road are truly impressive.
The Need for Speed
Shell, all I want to do today really is stick 4S in it and see if we can get any more speed – and I may even stick a 6s in it now before we do any speed testing today.
A Change in Perspective
There is something I want to talk about and, to be honest, I really didn’t want to bring this up on a video, but I kind of want to get it off my chest now. Another well-known, UK-based RC content creator seems to think it’s okay to criticize other people’s work.
A Source of Inspiration
If you don’t know who I’m talking about, I’m talking about someone who I’ve respected in the past – and I took a lot of inspiration from, especially when I started my channel in 2020. Unfortunately, I’m not really a huge fan anymore.
A Critical Commentary
That is because recently, he criticized how some people create their videos. Now, the actual comment he made was anyone who says, “stop and read”so let’s stop the GPS let’s read or track mode or anything else on the Sky, RC GPS, it’s actually quite annoying.
A Hypocritical Gesture
Now, to be honest, who actually cares? Now from what I can remember, I’m pretty sure he’s guilty of that himself. And if you go back a year or two, he did exactly the same. Just because someone’s channel has grown to a fairly good size, that does not give you a reason to start criticizing how other people create their videos.
Unaffected by Opinions
Now, to be honest with you, I really don’t care about what he thinks. It’s important to stay true to your own style and not let others’ opinions affect your creativity. The most important thing is to create content that you are passionate about and that resonates with your audience.
In the end, it doesn’t matter what others think about your videos. As long as you continue doing what you love and showcasing your skills and projects, you will attract an audience that appreciates your unique approach. And that’s what truly matters in the world of RC car enthusiasts.
But let’s not dwell on negativity. Today, I want to focus on something exciting – the Lancia Delta Integrale RC car that I built. And let me tell you, it’s fast! With the modifications I made and the powerful battery, this RC car is a beast on the track. Its speed and agility are truly impressive.
I spent hours meticulously crafting and assembling every part of this RC car. From the aerodynamic body to the high-performance motor, I spared no expense in creating the ultimate racing machine. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect, making it not only fast but also aesthetically pleasing.
As I race it across the track, the car handles like a dream. The precision steering and responsive controls allow me to navigate even the tightest corners with ease. The suspension system absorbs the bumps and jumps effortlessly, ensuring a smooth and stable ride.
The Lancia Delta Integrale RC car has become the star of my YouTube channel, captivating viewers with its speed and performance. I am proud to showcase the countless hours of hard work and dedication that went into its creation. It

Upgrading the Pinion and ESC
We all have our own channels and it’s best to keep our comments to ourselves. Who really cares what he thinks? I, for one, certainly don’t care. I’m not going to lose any sleep over it and I’m definitely not going to change the way I make my videos. But all of you are here to see the hyper GT in action, so let’s get a 4S pack fitted and see how fast it can go.
With the pinion and ESC upgraded, it’s time to put it to the test on 4S. We’ll start the GPS on track mode and find out straight away how fast this car can go. As I hit full throttle on this nice stretch of road that I’ve come across near my house, I can immediately feel that it’s a lot quicker now. The speed is exhilarating as we push it to the limit.
Small Changes Makes a Big Difference
I believe we’re going to see some impressive numbers this time. Perhaps it will hit 41 or 42. This just goes to show that even a small change like the pinion gear can make a significant difference in speed. Not only that, but the handling of this car has greatly improved with the addition of the gyro. It allows for precise control even at full throttle.
We’ll do one more pass to really test its capabilities before bringing it back and analyzing the results on 4S. But I can already tell you that I’m inclined to push it even further. I think I’ll go all the way up to 6S for the ultimate speed experience.
Pushing it Further with 6S
Now that we’ve seen the potential of the Lancia Delta Integrale RC car on 4S, it’s time to take it to the next level. With a 6S setup, the power and speed will be even more impressive. I can’t wait to see what this car is capable of.
But before we dive into the excitement, let’s take a moment to appreciate the progress we’ve made. Upgrading the pinion and ESC may have seemed like a small modification, but it has yielded fantastic results. The increased speed and improved handling have taken this RC car to a whole new level.
Now, let’s unleash the power of 6S and see just how fast this car can go. Hold on tight, because this is going to be one adrenaline-fueled ride you won’t want to miss.
The Power of Upgrades
Today is the day. It’s time to unleash the beast that I have created – my very own Lancia Delta Integrale RC car. I can hardly contain my excitement as I prepare to witness its speed and performance.
Testing on 4S Power
With a heart filled with anticipation, I decide to start with a 4S power setup. This should give me a good initial gauge of what my creation is capable of. As I rev up the engine and release the car, it zooms off, leaving a trail of dust behind.
I couldn’t help but notice the improvement in speed from the last time. This time, I clocked an impressive 42 miles per hour. It’s a significant improvement, thanks to the upgraded ESC and the larger pinion. The hard work and modifications have paid off.
The Need for Speed: 6S Test
However, my curiosity knows no bounds. I am eager to push the limits of my creation even further. It’s time to see what my RC car can do on 6S power.
I carefully insert my brand new Genace GTE 5100mAh 6S battery pack, ready to witness its full potential. As I secure the battery in place, I can’t help but marvel at how it snugly fits into the battery tray. The Hero RC cars are known for their compact battery trays, but I managed to make it work.
With bated breath, I switch on the power and listen for the familiar six beeps. This is it, the moment of truth. I place the body back on and prepare for the ultimate test – how fast will it go on 6S?
Unleashing the Beast
I release the car and it shoots off like a bullet, leaving a streak of sheer excitement in its wake. The speed is electrifying, and I can’t help but feel a sense of pride for what I have achieved.
As I watch the car race ahead, I can’t help but feel a mix of satisfaction and astonishment. The speedometer reads an impressive number, but it’s not just about the numerical value. It’s about the thrill, the rush that comes with witnessing the power and speed of the Lancia Delta Integrale RC car.
Testing the Lancia Delta Integrale RC Car on 6s
So here we go then, we’re going to see how fast it will go on 6s, just like before, we’re going to hit start on the GPS. There we go, let’s see how fast it will go on 6s.
A Pleasant Surprise from the Gyros
Now, I think this is going to be completely different from 4S. Oh, the Gyros already helping us out there, trying to keep it nice and stable. Right, let’s do it, let’s see how fast we can get on 6s. Full throttle! Full throttle again. That thing is moving, that has made a huge difference.
What Speed Can It Reach?
What are we going to see out of this? Are we going to hit 60 or more? I don’t know. If we are, I think we’re going to get into the 50s, though. Let’s do a couple more passes. Now this thing is moving, oh, we’re going to see 50, 50 or more. I’m pretty sure we’re going to see 50 and above. I don’t think we’re going to hit 60, but I may be wrong. Here we go, full throttle! Right, let’s bring it back, let’s see what we got.
An Insane Speed
We hit stop and read: wow, we got 62 mph! That is insane speed. So there we go then, guys. Very impressive on 4S, and on 6s, well, it was an absolute beast.
Habo Models Deserve More Credit
Now, I love everything Habo here on my channel. As you know, I’ve got loads of their models, and the Hyper GT is definitely up there with some of the best. And I know a lot of people still don’t give Habo the credit they deserve.
