Haiboxing has recently released their new 1/12 Scale 2997A 3s Capable Stadium RC Truck. With promises of exceptional performance, this truck is creating quite the buzz in the RC truck community. In this article, we will be unboxing this truck and discussing its potential as the best truck yet.
Introducing Haiboxing’s New Release: 1/12 Scale 2997A 3s Capable Stadium RC Truck
We are excited to unbox and test Haiboxing’s latest release – the HX 2997A. This powerful RC truck is equipped with brushless power, oil-filled shocks, and front and rear center discs. It comes with everything you need in the box to get started.
Powerful Performance and 3s Capability
The HX 2997A is 3s capable, meaning it can handle a 3S ESC (electronic speed controller) which is separate from the receiver. With a 45 amp ESC, this truck offers impressive speed and performance on the track. To fully experience its capabilities, our friends at EICS have also provided us with two 3S lipos to test with this truck.
One notable feature of the HX 2997A is its ability to accommodate batteries of unique sizes. Many 3s batteries on the market are too big or too long, but Haiboxing has designed the truck to fit these batteries perfectly, ensuring a snug fit and optimal performance. We are particularly excited to test the batteries provided by Your Genic, known for their high-quality batteries.
Unboxing the HX 2997A
Let’s now take a look at what’s inside the box. Upon opening, we find the instruction manual and some decals. The manual provides detailed operating and charging instructions, ensuring that users can get the most out of their RC truck.
One great advantage of Haiboxing trucks is their excellent aftermarket support. If any parts of the truck get damaged or broken, Haiboxing offers a range of aftermarket parts for replacement. This is particularly important as accidents and wear and tear are inevitable in the world of RC vehicles. Without proper aftermarket support, a cheap RC vehicle may become unusable. Haiboxing’s commitment to providing replacement parts ensures that users can easily fix any issues that may arise.
In addition to replacement parts, Haiboxing even provides diagrams on how to disassemble and work on various components of the truck. This level of detail and support ensures that even beginners can maintain and repair their RC vehicles without much hassle.
The HX 2997A is a truly impressive RC truck, offering power, durability, and a high level of customization. Whether you are a seasoned RC enthusiast or a beginner looking for a reliable and easily maintainable truck, the HX 2997A is worth considering. Stay tuned as we put this truck to the test and provide a detailed review of its performance.
The New Haiboxing 1/12 Scale 2997A Stadium RC Truck
This is actually a really nice manual and they’ve improved to compare to my older HBX truck. Here’s the truck, it’s a nice-looking stadium truck 1/12 scale. This thing’s going to rip, look at that – the shocks are looking good right out of the box.
The Transmitter and Accessories
We also have the transmitter here. This is the standard HBX transmitter. I have it in my 1/16 scale truck – perfectly functional, nothing fancy but has a nice feel to it and they work well.
The package includes an 1800mAh 2s, 30C lipo battery, two chargers, extra body pins, and it looks like extra 12mm hexes in case you lose one. There are also extra wheel nuts and a tool to take the tires on and off. I can’t recall what this little plastic dudad is here, but we’ll figure that out later. Here’s the wing, which comes with a screwdriver – maybe that’s a mounting piece for the wing, I’m not entirely sure.
Now, let’s do a size comparison. This is an HBX 16890, a 1/16 scale truck, and here’s the new 2997A 1/12 scale truck. As you can see, the 1/12 scale truck is quite a bit bigger; um, now this little truck here is also a lot of fun. HBX makes some outstanding vehicles, they tend to be extremely durable, and this one I’ve actually modified it to go up to 57mph. Stock, it only did about 24mph, but um, these trucks do have a lot of potential.
Performance and Potential
This one here, I believe, is supposed to go about 30mph on 2s or 45mph on 3s. We’ll see if that’s actually the case – a lot of times, manufacturers embellish the top speeds, but I’m really curious to see just how fast this truck goes and if it can reach the manufacturer’s claimed top speeds. And here’s how it compares in size to my much bigger 1/10 scale truck.
Under the Body
When you first take off the body of Haiboxing’s new release, the 1/12 Scale 2997A 3s Capable Stadium RC Truck, you’ll notice the lighting fixtures. It’s important to be cautious when removing the body, but there’s a convenient wire that is extendable. However, you should avoid pulling it too hard or too far.
Underneath the body, you’ll find the designated receiver, separate from the ESC (electronic speed controller). The ESC is a powerful 45 amp 3s ready model. Additionally, the truck comes with a second 2s lipo battery from the factory, so you receive two batteries. The truck is also equipped with a servo for precise control. The motor, a 3650 sized motor with a 3800 KV rating, is ready to provide a thrilling experience.
Compatibility with Other Batteries
To test the compatibility of the truck with another battery, the good people at Ur Genex sent me their battery to try out. I was curious to see if it would fit, but the battery box is quite tight. As you can see, the stock 2s battery with 7.4 volts barely fits into the compartment. However, the dimensions of Ur Genex’s battery are similar, so there is hope that it might fit too.
Making Adjustments for a Better Fit
In order to make the Ur Genex battery fit more comfortably, I had to trim the plastic wrap around the battery compartment. Carefully cutting away some of the excess plastic without leaving any jagged edges was necessary to ensure long-term durability. But with the right adjustments, you can install it in a similar way to the stock 2s battery and it will just barely fit inside.
Ready for a Treat
With everything in place, Haiboxing’s new RC truck promises to deliver an exceptional experience. The tight battery box may initially seem restrictive, but with a little effort, it is possible to accommodate alternative batteries. Whether you choose to stick with the stock batteries or upgrade to a different brand, this RC truck is sure to provide excitement and enjoyment.
Unboxing the Haiboxing 1/12 Scale 2997A RC Truck
As I open the box, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation. The packaging is sleek and professional, hinting at the quality that lies within. The truck is securely fastened to the box, ensuring that it arrives in perfect condition.
Carefully removing the truck from its packaging, I am immediately struck by its impressive size. The 1/12 scale ensures that it will make a statement wherever it goes. The attention to detail is remarkable, with every aspect carefully designed to replicate the look of a real stadium truck.
Setting Up the Truck
Before I can unleash this beast on the track, I need to set it up properly. Connecting the battery is straightforward, thanks to the clear instructions provided. A deans connector ensures a secure and reliable connection, allowing for maximum power delivery.
I switch on the power, and the truck comes to life. The lights flash in anticipation, searching for a connection with the ESC. With a simple press of a button, the receiver activates, and the ESC fan starts running. The headlights beam brightly, adding to the overall excitement.
Ready for Action
With everything in place, it’s time to take this truck for a spin. Tomorrow morning, I will head out to the track and put it through its paces. I eagerly anticipate how it will perform on both 2s and 3s power. The speed, the power, and the overall performance are what sets this truck apart from the rest.
Whether you’re a seasoned RC enthusiast or new to the hobby, the Haiboxing 1/12 Scale 2997A RC Truck promises a thrilling and exhilarating experience. Its versatility and capability to handle both 2s and 3s power make it suitable for both beginners and experienced drivers.
The Power Behind the Truck
One of the most remarkable features of this truck is its ability to handle up to 3s power. But what exactly does that mean? To put it simply, the truck can handle up to 8.4 volts when fully charged. This is achieved through the three-cell structure of the 3s. Each cell in the truck is rated at 3.7 volts, resulting in a total of 11.1 volts when fully charged. This additional power allows the truck to perform at its peak.
2s vs 3s: The Speed Factor
For those who are new to the RC truck hobby, starting with a 2s truck is a common choice. It provides good performance and a satisfactory experience. However, the 3s power takes things to a whole new level. With the added voltage, the truck becomes an absolute ripper and offers even more fun for enthusiasts. The speed and agility that the 3s power brings to the table is unparalleled.
Unboxing the Truck
Now let’s delve into the unboxing experience. As you begin unboxing this masterpiece, you will notice that the truck comes with a plastic layer over the body. This layer is designed to keep the body clean and scratch-free, ensuring that your truck looks pristine. A small tip for easier handling is to remove the wire connecting the receiver to the truck. Although it is not necessary to do this every time, it can make future unboxing and setup processes much smoother.
Pros and Cons
As with any product, there are pros and cons to consider. However, it is important to note that a comprehensive review will be provided after thorough testing and a few outings with the truck. In the upcoming review video, the performance, strengths, and weaknesses of this truck will be discussed in detail. Removing the LED Light
The first thing that catches your eye is the LED light attached to the truck. It’s secured in place and adds a certain charm to the overall design. To access the internal components of the truck, you’ll need to remove this LED light. Be careful while doing this to ensure you don’t damage any delicate parts.
Taking Off the Plastic Coating and Rear Wing
Once the LED light is detached, you’ll notice a plastic coating covering the truck. This is meant to protect it during shipping. Gently peel the coating off to reveal the sleek body of the truck.
Next, let’s focus on the rear wing. To enhance stability and performance, Haiboxing has included an additional body brace. This brace needs to be installed using three screws. Once secured in place, the wing easily pops right in.
Returning the Components
Now that you have removed the plastic coating and installed the body brace and rear wing, it’s time to reassemble the truck. Carefully slide the LED light back into the receiver, ensuring that it fits snugly. Take note of how all the components fit together, as this will help you maintain the truck’s integrity in the long run.
