Today we have spartan out and we’re gon na do a couple new things today, we’re gon na have to break in new tires because we had a little bit of a mishap at 155 miles an hour last time. We ran, we actually chunked a tire out and it is not this one. I actually sent it back to rick the guy who makes these uh. That is not the chunk. That’S, actually a quarter the size of the chunk, but i needed new tires. So what we’re going to be doing today is we’re going to be breaking in brand spanking new tires. These have never been ran before now. If we look underneath, you guys can see, the consistency is definitely a lot different it’s really hard to get a close up on that. But there’s going to be a good two millimeters difference in tire diameter, so that’s about a mile an hour that we are actually missing on top speed running tires that are already worn down. You shouldn’t have to worry about getting oh, a taller tire to get more speed. You should use a consistent tire, no matter what it may be and ensure you’re geared properly for that tire diameter, so that you don’t, overload your esc and if you guys want some of these tires for yourself definitely check out rick shepherd on facebook.
He is the one who builds and makes these tires by hand, so absolutely give him some time, but by all means it is absolutely worth it wait, a minute. Who is this? Oh no way this is chris. I haven’t seen him in a while all right, so we have chris’s stuff over here. This looks like a 5b and a pretty damn shiny, uh crate nadas that looks brand new brand spanking. Now yeah what’s in it xlx2 1100, pretty basic dasher rig brand new, just gon na test it out with 29′ gears. Look at that that’s an awesome, awesome setup, that’s, a big friggin motor, the 1100. We actually used to run the 1100 back in spartan over. There fly wait, wait, wait, hang on how much horsepower does that velcro give you? Look at that nice fans too, 18 to pinion 58 spur see what she does on 12. What are these 6, 62 6200 c house? Those are kosher. I think that’ll do pretty darn well like we’re going to be doing. Some speed runs with this thing on 12 14. 16S. These are two 6s batteries, so we’re running 12s right well, he’s running 12s. All right! We can see what you can do too. So look how much bigger chris’s low z5b is from spartan.
This is actually a pretty big scale, uh road vehicle in general, and then you have that size comparison between the 5b and spartan spartan’s, a 1 7 scale. Obviously, the 5b is going to be a fifth scale, uh yeah i’m in awe that’s awesome. Now, if you guys, haven’t done so be sure to follow. As for the setup guys, we have our old, reliable, xlx2 esc right there and, as for the motor, you guys see that big whopping gear, this motor’s got a hell of a lot of torque. So we need a lot of gear here. This guy is a 5670 tp motor, so this is a true fifth scale motor if you guys haven’t seen in previous videos. This is a wicked now, although it may not be as smooth and consistent as the castle running censored, or anything like that, this thing’s got a hell of a lot of torque and it’s got a lot of body now that is actually gpsb up in the front. We’Re only gon na be using that gps for top speed runs now, as for the practice, and warm up runs we’re going to be doing today, we’re going to be using gps a on the back now, obviously you’re going to want to confirm so that’s. Why we have two gps’s, if you guys were wondering all right guys now, as for the warm up, runs we’re going to be doing two of them today uh.
This is a six at 6, 000 milliamp and we’re gon na be running this setup on 6s. Firstly, we’re really going to be wanting to break in the tires, so i want to do two warm up. Next, we have our 4s 6000 milliamp g plus series, so it is also 70c we’re going to be running 8s up next and this car is going to be going balls to the wall, we’re going to be looking at over 150 miles an hour top speed. So we’re going to see if these tires can handle after the warm up passes and if they do, then we can proceed to go even faster, let’s see what it is all right here we go guys we’re all zeroed out. You should see what spartans can do on 6s. I don’t know well there. It is and he’s moving see what that was. 136 that’s, pretty good, oh white lost range. I have no idea, maybe it could be the cell tower that’s right here could be. I don’t remember there being a cell tower all right, so chris is up with a 5b and apparently there’s a bashing gear in there, but he wants to see what it can do on road, and this is 12s 12s. All right see what it’s got. Oh, my god three tires are on the ground. I think you saw that front. One left, yeah, stop read 80s fix holy, wait. Wait! Hang on hang on.
I got ta see that that’s 12s that’s only 12. 86 miles an hour holy christmas jesus. That thing is all over the road that it is so scary. I was about to jump yeah. It started sliding a little bit. Oh yeah. That is too funny. Damn look: how small the uh look, how small that pinion gear is that’s, really not that big three 89.! Oh! Take that in the shade, wow yo wow! Look at that guys! You can see we’re all zeroed out, we’re gon na do another pass on the same 6s, with no top off to see how well it does gon na break a little bit early it’s, just one pass and 134 yeah, so that’s still pretty good uh. That is after a pass and we did not top the battery off so that’s kind of expected, as you can see, here’s your 6s pretty good passes we’re in the 130s on 6s, not to complain and the car handled pretty darn. Well, so yeah all right! So now chris is going to be doing 14s. We have a 6s here, another 6s. There then another 2s and they’re all of the same specs. So you got to make sure that every single battery is the same exact c rating same exact, milliamps everything. So it all discharges at the same time and that’s really what you want to do if you want to be safe when running higher voltage plus, you also got to be sure that you have decent connectors and these are really really good.
They’Re called ose, eight millimeters, uh and their connectors are anti spark. I definitely look into them if any of you guys are looking to do a big massive, build like this all right, so we’re all zeroed out on the module it’s really hard to see, but there it is gon na try to keep it in the shade. Let’S see what he can do on 14s i’m, really curious, damn wow jesus! You can just hear the power trying to put to the ground. That is ridiculous, i’m going to stand behind it. No, you think oh it’s upside down, stop stop green damn what 96 96 miles an hour holy christmas bashing gears, and you saw how small that pinion gear is it’s like small and the spur gear is insanely big. Obviously we have a lot of voltage, so all that voltage is what’s giving it the rpm look at that. That is insane wow two passes at you’re about 130 it’s, probably gon na be 140 145 inside of the can about batteries. Batteries aren’t that bad it’s expected being out here in hot florida. Actually, can you temp the ground, the crown’s 120.? Damn yes, the esc’s 104., damn that’s crazy, we’re, all zeroed out! This is going to be our first 8s pass on the new tires. We’Re gon na see what it can do. Hopefully, it’ll handle well Applause. Oh, we have almost the same color scheme. That’S awesome black gold, but you just have silver awesome, awesome, that’s.
What i wanted to see if i can see 154 miles an hour and yeah that’s, a pretty darn good, uh speed, we’re, also topped out, because we have 154 on here, 154 on gps, a as well so we’re confirmed at 154 esc here. Try to get it down here on the base of the aluminum yeah we’re at 130, so inside maybe like 140, which isn’t that bad on eight that’s, because this thing’s going absolutely all out now the motor thanks for the temp gun by the way 150 yeah it’s. Probably 160 or so that’s a little bit hotter, keep in mind it’s only one pass. You only want to do one pass with a big dinner plate gear like that. You really don’t want to push this thing all right, so we’re pretty much done here today. Everything went pretty darn well, i’m, really happy that spartan was able to pull over 150 miles an hour again as well, but on new tires i’m really really happy. Everything was safe. Everything was consistent as well same thing with chris’s car too.
