I honestly found it quite hard to fight the right, rc car and to select the first car, so i decided to make a video on how to pick your first rc car if you’re interested subscribe to the channel. So you get notified when the video comes online. Also in this video we’re going to do an in depth review of this buggy and talk about all the technical stuff, this is actually version 3, so we’re going to have a look at all the upgrades arma did on this vehicle and what we think of it And what the advantages are i’m planning to do another review in a few months time to see if it’s, really as fun and durable as i expected it to be one more thing, though, this is actually the first video i’ve ever done on youtube this way and English is not my native language, so i’m going to do my absolute best, but uh i’m. Just super excited to share this with you guys enjoy the video. Alright guys let’s go look at what a huge box. This is, is my hand to comparison and uh says arma on the box, also uh the slogan don’t just bash blast and that’s in the case it’s a 4×4. Well obviously, but i, like the other slogan even more: where is it here? It says design fast design, tough that’s, the one i like. Ok let’s, cut this baby open, so here’s my knife.
There we go and the other side yes be sure not to cut inside anything else. Let’S see what have we got. Ah i’m. Guessing another box in the box, oh check it out guys have to turn off the camera for a second don’t need that box. Look at it it’s huge says some new things on the box. What it has got back to that in a later on. Oh look: we have another slogan designed to be fast and designed to be tough. Well, i would hope so let’s uh see how we can get this box open. Oh nice picture on the side going to see here. We go so ah just found out all the tape on the box on this side. There we go yes, let’s see what have we got. Yes check it out guys oh wow it’s, even bigger than i imagined this is huge. This is a huge puppy. Look at it, wow that’s! Absolutely massive! Okay! Let’S get it though let’s get it out the radio and check it out. This is amazing. Wow check the suspension travel on the rear. This is massive. Okay, so take the plastic off Music wow. This is fantastic, let’s see what else have we got? Guess saying this is the radio? Yes, it is there. It is very nicely. Oh i like this one. I, like this wheel, it’s very soft and grippy, also like the buttons on this. No idea what they do.
I mean this one is obvious this one, but i think it’s steering trim things like that. We’Ll uh i’ll get into that later on, read the manual some more buttons let’s have a look inside going to have to take these clips off, see how that works. Now you see they’re attached to the body very happy with that. I once had a little car when i was very young well, very long, maybe 10., the car actually did uh 38 kilometers an hour, which was a lot but uh kept losing these all the time. So i was more looking for these on the street than uh. Actually racing the car let’s take the body off that’s, very easy uh, look at it that’s the inside. So here goes the battery. Here we got the ec the control unit, the let’s see. What else have we got? Oh, it is the off switch here, steering servo it moves it moves. Oh, this is very lightweight it’s, of course, it’s it’s a huge thing, but of course it weighs more than a package of sugar, but for the size, it’s really light it’s supposed to weigh two and a half kilos. Ask me that’s not a lot all right guys. So let’s have a closer look on this vehicle to see what the updates are, what we think of it, starting at the front we’ll see here this red plate, the they added here for improved strength on the front.
I think this is a very good thing, because if you hit something with the wheel, then it tends to snap off here and by connecting it to this brace it’s much much stronger. Also, it can take more hits up here, so it’s a lot more durable. Then moving a bit back, we see here the front shocks, two shocks, one for each side, this the swing arm very durable. Looking i’ve got this open structure for saving weight. I don’t know if you can see that, but this uh drive shaft see it turns. As we turn the wheel. We’Ve got the steering axle connecting the steering to the wheel so remove this move the wheel. One thing i noticed here the shocks have quite small pistons. These are like three millimeters. I think they look very small, but uh we’ll see how uh how they get on there if they’re not durable enough we’ll exchange them for better ones, maybe from the arma 4s or 6s let’s see which are most suited for this. Okay. Moving on to a bit more to the rear, we see here, the part is steering servo it’s got 15 more power than the previous one, so that’s always good makes uh makes the wheels turn quicker, more more forces, a quicker response to input from the radio. Also they’ve done a bit of a redesign of this. Apparently there wasn’t enough space for the parts. Well, there wasn’t enough space to move, but once durch got in and all got clocked up and now by giving it more space – and you see also an exit hole under there, so this can escape the body and prevent it from clogging up.
Also here one thing you can’t see quite well is front diff it’s in there it distributes the power and then from over the left and the right front wheels. Then this is the drive. Shaft goes to the back differential. Also, we see here, it’s, supported by a bearing in the middle, also quite happy with this, because if you make a jump and this car smashes onto the bottom and this axle is not supported, it tends to bend well. This is a plastic axis axle, so i won’t won’t bend that quickly, but plastic can eventually break or get misaligned, and then you get nasty noises, not what you want. Moving further back, we’ve got the new spectre, motor and it’s, roughly the same motor 3700 kilovolts, and but what they have done is they have added a fan on top so that’s a good thing to keep it cool to uh, because if it’s overheating you don’t have A lot of speed, but you have a lot of power, then it tends to turn it to overheat. By adding a fan you have always air circulation, even if you’re not driving at speed, also in the drivetrain department. We skipped this because there was no change to this. The control unit of the motor it can handle with 30 amps sorry, 100 amps. It says here: 100 amps this uh. This is plenty enough to make for a fast, buggy and add plenty enough power to to uh to feed this motor.
You could fit a bigger control unit, but then would be useless because the motor wouldn’t need any more power. So if you would want to make this faster, you have to upgrade the whole package, the motor, the ec control unit and the battery moving to the back here’s, the the back differential array differential. It connects basically the motor to the center drive shaft it’s, very easily removable, because you just turn it around. Remove this one screw and then by pulling this up, you can push the whole unit out so i’m. Moving to the back, it’s got a huge ring. It’S really big look at this it’s, pointing above this car really nice. It looks very cool it’s, not that suitable for high speed racing, but totally not my intention. Just want to to accelerate fast and uh have a lot of downforce on the back wheels. So i it seems they will do that. Just fine, then moving further back we’ve got this again. This red plate over here, just like at the front to reinforce the back, and here at the back we have the back bumper. I think it’s only used when when it hits objects backwards at this height, so i won’t be that often i hope also noticed these. I don’t know what they’re called, but they support the body when it’s on and they’re very flexible. So if it lands upside down. These won’t break that quick and it’s also got a large pad to distribute the forces, so the body won’t break then moving on to the wheels they uh they’ve glued this together, so it’s it’s glued on to the to the rim.
Also rim is very open, constructed to have dirt moving out, but still as much material as possible to make it as strong as possible comes off using this screw screw. This off whole wheel comes off really nice design very happy with that also they’re, quite big. So if you ever lose them you’ll see to find them some small things they improved. They added rubber o rings here, they’re not visible now, but just have to believe it’s uh it’s better than before. Uh also, all bearings are now rubber shielded, also very happy with that, because that prevents dirt from coming in dirty in a bearing it’s, always starting off the end of the bearing we’ve also got the manual layer. I advise to read this thoroughly also, they supply some tools, so we have to do some maintenance. We have the most essential tools at your disposal, so i read the manual to see what all the buttons do on the radio and what they do is the first button controls how at what? What the maximum angle is of your steering. So it’s now turned up all to the max, so you can make a small turning radius as small as possible. The second one is the throttle. Trim don’t have to touch that, but if there’s, if the car starts driving when you’re not giving any input, this button is the one to fix it. The third one is steering trim can make the car go in a straight line if you’re not steering – and this one is obvious steering wheel here – we got the throttle forwards backwards and functions also has a rig a b button.
Don’T know what it’s for doesn’t say in the manual so don’t need it. I suppose here on this side is four buttons. First, one controls the maximum power. The maximum throttle so can be put on the 50 percent or 75 percent now it’s 100. So it’s not limited. Third, one is throttle reverse, so you can reverse the direction of the throttle, burst, throttle switch and third, one is steering reverse so controls left or right, depending on which side you’re turning the steering wheel and the fourth one power on button.
