The feature is only available on 2017 7 Series and the latest 5 Series equipped with the 3d surround view option without this equipment. The feature will not be available in the app it uses. The same onboard camera systems from the car that aid with the parking systems and wirelessly transmits images through the BMW back end through connected drive services to use this remote feature, you’ll need to enable some iDrive settings first to do this select my vehicle. Then I drive settings and scroll to the bottom to data privacy. Next select remote view 3d and check the box. This will allow the app to access the cars camera system if you’d like to send the vehicles. Gps information to the app as well be sure to check the box for vehicle tracking once you’ve downloaded the app and login with your connected drive account it’s easy to access. This feature launch the app and tap on the vehicle graphic to navigate to the remote services screen to access the remote features tap on remote in the top left corner next scroll to the bottom and find the remote 3d View. Category select show view the first time you access this feature. A default top image will be displayed there after your last viewed image will appear here, tap refresh view to request a new image. This usually takes about a minute tap it again to see the status of the request. Now you can use your finger to take a virtual walk around the vehicle to check the surroundings.
Pinch, your fingers to zoom the view tapping on the camera. Icon allows you to take a screenshot of the manipulated picture if so desired. Each image will automatically be saved in the app and you will also be given the option to store a copy of the image to your phone’s camera roll to access image history on the app tap gallery at the top right corner. The app keeps a history of all images you’ve taken along with GPS information at the time if this feature was originally enabled in I Drive.
