Are you ready Music? What i’m going to show you today is one of the most interesting bead lock wheel, set available. It is the boom racing pro build 1.9 wheels, so very good quality goes without saying when you get the packaging, it is next level, but it has about 10 tricks up its sleeve. So, aside from the quality and the packaging i’ve been using it for a while had it has an amazing grip on the tire which is job number one. When you have to change tires, everything is true a lot of screws, but you don’t have to use all them if you’re not interested, but what they’ve come up with is something very interesting what they built a very flexible chassis with a lot of modular parts. So it gives it a lot of flexibility and sweet spot, and the latest iteration that i got is the boom racing extra wide check. This baby out, i don’t, have all the screws in, but i have enough so it’s extra wide. The rim is this wide. I was wondering if, if it’s gon na really fit any of my tires, this is just a proline trencher that i have, but here is to compare and contrast most bead lock wheels. Are this width so what they do is they squeeze the tire a little bit? Quite a bit and that’s okay, but it causes the tire to balloon, not as much lateral stability depending on your foam so check this out.
This is the exact same tire, and this is the boom racing. When you have a wide rim, you get more footprint out of your tire. The same size tires so the same weight everything gets more footprint and a lot more stability, lateral stability, so side healing is very important to you. That’S a big deal. So here is a vanquish wheel, very expensive, very good wheel, and the boom racing is a bit wider it’s about as wide as the tire so that’s one thing, that’s super interesting. The other interesting thing is they play with offset. So these tires proline. They don’t have a lot of they. Don’T have configurable offset you, you, you get what you get and in vanquish they’ve devised a very cool system where you have these hub carriers and you can get the hub carriers in different widths. So, but each each hub carrier is about, i don’t know twenty thirty dollars a set of four, so it can get expensive and you don’t really know what what uh, what fits you well, what boom racing has done is they’ve made a a very flexible two split. Two rim that’s uh 25 about 30, 30 and then 70 percent, and so depending on, where you put the plates, your offset can change so there’s four different offsets in one set of wheels, so i’ve definitely used it. For my capra, i made it narrow and then for my my trx 4, which was kind of typical.
I made it wide same wheel, so pretty cool huh, so so here’s the plate and here’s the hub carrier without changing these two, just depending on where you locate them it’s going to change. You know how how the tire sits on the chassis, so that’s flexibility number two. The other thing is they play a lot with weight. So this is the extra wide big rim, and so this proline plastic one weighs 134, and this one as wide as it is, is 150., so only 15 grams more and one of the things that they they do is the inside. Instead of using aluminum, they use a delrin, i believe uh, a plastic milled out plastic, so you know it’s as strong as it needs to be, but minimizing the weight. So so you said, hey heavy wheels are better right. Sometimes you know. Sometimes they are sometimes they’re. Not, but what boom racing does it gives you all the flexibility? The time when you want light wheels is when you have a an ultimate crawler, ultimate lightweight crawler, so in in in our neck of the woods, some some guys pursue a four pound crawler and what a flight crawler does as opposed to an eight pound one. Is it doesn’t slip as much there’s, not as much pressure on your tires? So you have you looks like you have more grip, you look like a spider, so less weight is good um. If you can get away with it.
You know if you have that power that run time uh and the good tires, but they said hey a lot of times. More weight is good too, so it really depends on your situation. This one it’s good to be good to be light good to have some light wheels, whereas this one it might be good to have heavy wheels because you have so much top weight. You need to offset them that somehow to get your center gravity and to that effect, boom racing said: okay, we’ll, give you some weights so we’ll give you some brass rings and will give you some weights that you can put on the brass ring. So for two of these not minding the plastic, which probably weighs a couple grams, it’s 420 grams, so 210 grams per wheel is what you can add to this one. Imagine 150, you know, and then you add in um 200 crazy yeah, but what that does is gives you the flexibility to do what you want so weight job number two, the other thing they do is face plates. They have some face plate magic. So when you have a wheel like this it’s, pretty cool but that’s, all you get it’s the color you get and that’s the design you get boom racing said: hey here’s, a carbon fiber one for your super light rig how about a little alloy, jagged jaggery one For your drifter, how about some oil slick? One? Because oh so cool so check that out as they come up with trends, they’re able to give you a product that might work for you, something basic: how about a blue one to match your vehicle? Okay, yeah! So another thing is this: is the the delrin lock ring that goes inside here for your lightweight solution? So a lot of solutions are going on here.
So the other thing that we’re going to talk about is the the screws are configurable, so they have so they they give you a tool, a very high quality tool and they give you either. You know allen screws to give you that certain look or they give you these these bolts, i don’t know if you can see that these bolts, you know to give it the more realistic look. So there you go uh pretty crazy boom racing. Uh, nice packaging comes with a tool: i’ve used them for the last year, very happy and i’m happy to see them. They keep it’s like a car. They keep developing the chassis uh to give it more options and they’re not expensive. I believe they’re they’re, 50 bucks. A pair which is perfectly reasonable, uh these these vanquishes they they’re up there. Most of these these wheels are over a hundred dollars for a set of four, so boom racing. Pro build, oh by the way uh hang on um to if you’re not subscribed to the channel, we got quite a bit of stuff from boom racing, so we have a bunch of high end bumpers. You know very scale this vrx01, but we have some new stuff. Like five packages of this also, they have a new satellites, uh called kuru where they really worked on on the engineering. So next videos we should have something interesting for you guys. Let me not forget my favorite boom racing wheel.
