I dag, we’re gon na do a quick run with the edf uh jack car um. I did a couple things differently, so one of my viewers suggested that i remove the back dog bones as well, because i do have a locked diff and i don’t know how it’s going to perform, and i don’t want it putting a lot of stress on that. Diff, just because i plan on removing the hot glue out of there, which locked it properly greasing it, putting the dog bones back and then actually putting a nitro uh disc brake in the center. I haven’t figured out how i’m gon na do it, but it’s actually meant for 110 scale car. So the dog bone should have the correct distances. We should be able to hook up a servo, no problem, that’s going to be in a later video i’m going to do tons of other mods by then probably anyways. So i removed the dog bones, like he suggested: they’re all free rolling wheels and then also went from a 2200 milliamp 50c rating battery to a 2600 milliamp 60c battery. So we should have a little bit more punch and this one we don’t have to use adapter it’s kind of convenient um, so this one’s got velcro here, i’m going to use the velcro and the battery strap, because the original factory tray this battery is too tall. Uh for four cell, because i think you only run two and three in this and then of course, we um use some double sided, sticky tape or alien tape, because i love that stuff and mounted the uh this uh.
What do you call it? A gps and it does all the performance analyzing it uses satellites. Everything like that. I have an app um lucky for me. I found out that i could run the app in the background, so i could use one phone before i thought i had to use two phones, because my fiance is currently still working so um that works out good there um. Let me use my hat cam um and then uh. The street is very, very narrow because it only got plowed so much of the way uh there may be some salt some debris. I got ta kind of watch that um. Faktisk, i ran it a little bit earlier and i did a video and uh the steering was all jacked up. It’S still messed up like the um servo saver, little adjustment silver thing right: there um it was too loose and it wasn’t like returning back to center. It was just kind of slow and all over the place uh. I don’t know how that got loose. Um i’ve tried to adjust this in the past and i think i actually adjusted it the wrong way so it’s off um, honestly so i’m kind of a little bit worried about the steering uh. Naturligvis, it needs to be completely reset up, probably adjusted and measured and all the fun stuff and make sure it’s all nice and straight um that’s gon na help out, but in the street we’re not gon na go too crazy, fast um, det er, technically gon na be The second run already ran a little bit.
It is pretty fast and powerful. I did make sure i topped off the battery it’s. Just in the past video, i had difficulties with the steering really really bad, where i couldn’t even control. I kept wrecking into the snow and uh. It just was all over the place, so hopefully by tightening this up and then the steering being more responsive, we’re, better off honestly we’re going to need some dry area. A nice big, open parking lot. Jeg er. Not so much worried about the break, but you know i wanted to have the space in the room to get its speed um earlier i was barely able to go straight and then i’d go off to one way or the other. I clocked that 17 and it wasn’t even full throttle. You know momentum that was just like quick little bursts um. I was kind of doing like hook shots and like kind of a donut, it was really cool. So i really want to share this experience with you. Guys i apologize that that video didn’t work out but i’m going to try to shoot this one for you. Guys and um have some fun with y’all and then obviously, when the weather breaks – and i can have a bigger area, do some proper testing maybe do a better amount. I had to change the zip ties on the front because they became to the point where they weren’t holding anymore. This never moved or like fell off or anything so i’m, not worried about that.
Um cooling works really well from these fans and it’s done a great job, plus it’s cold, outside anyways uh, the battery straps holding on good um. This didn’t move, so i think we’re pretty much good to go. So i just wanted to make sure that the string is much better it’s, still probably gon na drift to the right or left i’m gon na try to correct that and then it’s gon na need more adjustments, and then i really want to work on some breaks. I want to kind of make this uh, you know a really nice drivable car and just have some fun with right. So the videos that i did see online for this is everyone uses like a power train like they literally take a car and then strap this on it. synes om. I don’t see the point of that, like the electric motor i understand, maybe the braking, but the electric motor actually creates drag like look. How easy and smooth this rolls like it’s, not going to roll that easy and smooth with having a full power train in there. Du, maybe i don’t know, maybe they may get lucky, but everyone i saw, has a power train in it, so they’re giving a gap, the power train and then hitting this. I guess like a boost. Det ved jeg ikke, but to be honest with you: if you have the right setup and the right power uh, you can get it to where it runs.
Just off of this, i know it’s not super fast right off the line or it can be possibly if i set it up correctly, but once it builds up its speed, it can be really really fast and exciting. Så – and i was actually out there earlier blowing snow like a snow blower, you know blowing snow. I thought that was kind of funny. I did that at the end, but i’ll have some fun out there with you guys, shoot the video and then uh we’ll come back dry. It all up and then see how it goes so. Um let’s go ahead and go outside and have some fun how’s it going guys and welcome to rc cincy whoops already did the intro, oh well, so here we are with the car uh. So i worked on the steering and i’m back out here. I turned the thing on: you can see the satellite light green button, the bluetooth button and then the power buttons on so now, it’s recording the data that’ll give us a little bit of speed run if the steering’s too back. We might not get top speed. It’S a little drier on this side that side a lot of snow got tracked, så det er, not bueno. So what we’re gon na do is always turn on the transmitter first, just like so i put fresh batteries in the transmitter, make sure we got good range target batteries, whoops and uh man, it’s really really cold.
So remember, whenever i plug it up, i have to keep the the throttle all the way held in you can see. Both twin fans are on that’s the initiation system. That seems really really sluggish. I don’t know maybe that’s just me so hopefully that’s it’s, a return to neutral kinda, uh let’s see an actual thing, make sure it’s centered, so let’s go to uh. Steering, trim let’s, try somewhere in there see what happens so so here we go. Let’S hear the motor don’t tell me, i damaged it. Hope i didn’t damage it uh uh uh. I did damage it, åh nej! Åh! Nej! So i just went in and recharged the battery earlier. I had i don’t know if any water got down in there. I doubt it didn’t seem really really wet uh. Everything is plugged in as it should be, it’s really really struggling. øh. Åh, Åh, we got smoke. We got smoke. Oh no, Nej, Musik, crap, Okay, so here’s a lesson learned. I wish i would have kept that other content, like i deleted that stuff thinking i’m gon na do this video, so man that was literally about to catch on fire. So what did we learn not to drive a car like this in the snow and get it wet? I thought it was properly dried. Naturligvis, some water got down in there and the cooling is a good idea. That’S, not the issue at hand um. I guarantee i thought that it was dry.
I could still smell it. Do that that esc is gone i’m thinking huh the motor might be okay uh. I do have another esc to test it, so let’s get inside. Åh, min godhed. That was crazy. Så, som du kan se, we’re missing the esc remove the cooling off of it. Remove the esc completely unplugged it from the motor. I do believe the motor should be okay. I think it’ll be okay uh. So what happened is look in the yesie there’s. These open areas on this side and this side. Godt, i assumed that it was dry and there was no water in there and sure enough. It literally caught fire melted. This plastic smoked really really bad, and this 40 amp predator esc is designed for this particular setup. This design handle uh 40 mbsc already ran it once out there. I assumed everything else was perfectly dry that you know it’s been sitting there for a while uh, probably over an hour too. I assumed that it was dry and apparently i got a little bit of snow or ice and down in here brought it inside the water melted, the water got in there and sure enough. I fried a really really nice, 40 amp predator esc. So that is very, very painful that that happened, but i mean what are you gon na? Do mistakes happen, fortunately, for me i could just grab my e flight or the other predator one um test.
It just make sure this motor is okay uh. I don’t think it’s gon na burn up it’s, just not gon na run right then i’ll just immediately unplug it but um yeah that’s, totally a bummer honestly and i’ll put um i’m gon na put the video together so you’re gon na see where it like literally Starts smoking and acting weird and start smoking. Hopefully you can see that, like it was like a chimney, i mean i thought i was gon na catch on fire. I just try to hurry up and unplug it. I should have stopped getting a throttle when it started. The fan was like doing this weird sputtering like something wasn’t right. I should have unplugged it at that point. It probably would have saved the esc, men øh ja. I definitely toasted it um. So everything else is okay, Um. You know what i mean. Everything else was dry like i thought it was fine and of course, some water got captured. You know the opening right here. I just don’t want to open this up because it’s going to smell like it smells so bad, like a burnt electrical smell, is like the worst, so i put in a ziploc bag, so the smell wouldn’t carry out through the house and uh yeah, so that’s a Bummer because i was gon na rip it for you guys up and down the street uh honestly, i should probably shouldn’t have been out there number one it’s a narrow street, because there’s snow on both sides – there’s cars coming it’s, not an open area, good for testing.
It was snow everywhere on that street. I ran out of things in a puddle or two by accident. I should have checked it made sure it was dry. That was completely my mistake. Um, you know just getting excited about a car and it cost me. You know some money but, like i said fortunately there’s literally esc’s, everywhere there’s two right. There um, i think i got another esc somewhere for a job or something i was gon na use my date, and so i think i was too big for this motor. I probably wouldn’t go no more than a 40 Amp. I maybe go 50, but honestly i’m, just gon na go with the 30 Eller 40 amp just like before it’s all it needs uh and then run. You know three or four cell whatever for sure that wasn’t the problem, the cell, was not the problem because i already ran the setup before and that’s. The way i used to fly the jet with the 64 millimeter is a four cell so and the 60 amp district, så det er, none of that it was just simply uh me being silly and not double checking my work. I even checked the connectors in here make sure there was no water, like i literally checked everything, but down in there like everything else was dry. The fans were dry, so i assumed oh it’s dry. Godt, Det er. What happens when you assume there’s the stream setup? I don’t know if you’ve seen it in the previous video, it was all lit up, it’s gon na this is just the beginning, Jeg er, getting the ring with the webcam there and i’m.
Getting a green green screen background i’m, getting a stream deck right here and just a bunch of other stuff. I cannot wait to start streaming, it’s going to be a lot of fun but anyways i get a sidetracked id robot, so um yeah. So luckily, i don’t think i burned a receiver or anything like that. Everything is working, Fine, Umm det er, a shame because i would love to get a number for you guys at least an idea. What it’s, capable and kind of see the the performance, because i deleted the freaking video files i record on my phone: it is 128 gigabytes but sure enough. The way i am uh, i literally delete stuff as soon as i’m done with it. I figure hey i’m, going to shoot a new one, and then i got the steering better let’s just go for it and sure enough. I deleted the old and i kind of regret it now, because i could at least put the footage of me doing donuts and having some fun with it. You know that’d have been cool, but this is not going to be down for long guys, but i do want to share that i’m not going to hide anything. I share i’m we’re humans. We make mistakes, i mean i think, it’s toasted. I mean it just melted. Everything like this thing is a beast of an esc like these are really good, eses, Um, så ja. What can you do so? The other one should work perfectly.
I think i may use the if we could try out the e flight uh. We may even just put the other predator back on here honestly uh we’ll see i’ll, look at the ratings and everything, but i know they’re both capable 3s and 4s, and you know they both can run this motor shouldn’t be an issue but yeah. So there you have it guys: uh mistakes happened, mistakes were made at this moment. He knew he had beep. You know when you see the smoke rolling out. Jeg var, and i should have known by the way it was stuttering uh, that that was not good. So but hey, what are you gon na do so i’m gon na get it hooked back up. Jeg er. Probably honestly, gon na wait a couple of days. I don’t want the same kind of stuff to happen like that road. The ice is being drug all over the road he’s. Seeing that one side, the one side’s barely dry as soon as any more cars come down through there or pulling out their driveways or whatever and getting that snow across there it’s going to be in the same exact boat and it’s supposed to snow. So really, this deserves a big open parking lot. This yeah, you know this is going to be a really cool project and that’ll. Give me time to kind of work on the brakes so i’m really bummed out guys that i couldn’t share if it ripping.
I may plug it up, it may take it out there. I don’t know see if the road conditions get any little better or you know i get it done tonight. I should be able i mean it’s, just plugging it up, det er, Intet, hard uh, maybe i’ll shoot it tonight, if not i’ll try for tomorrow, if it doesn’t snow, Jeg vil, definitely try for tomorrow, and hopefully we get a video out for you guys soon. So i apologize about that, but hey you know part of the process. I guess and i think this i cannot believe how hot that got like it was literally rolling smile. Look for a minute there. I seen this like colors like i thought it was going to just catch on fire. The first thing you do is unplug it. I kind of want you to say i don’t know why, like i could unplug this center, i don’t think it damaged the battery at all and i don’t think the motor is damaged. So those are important i am going to test. It obviously make sure that the motor acts – Okay, Jeg ved, Uh, i think the sc is actually more expensive than the smoker. I think i don’t know i can’t remember but yeah. It is what it is so yeah and then and then, Selvfølgelig, the moisture and the water, and everything like i should have sprayed it with wd 40. I don’t know why i didn’t. I even suggested that, like the bearings and everything in here that got wet like you know, the little bearings they put in there like, i should have sprayed that stuff anyways.
If i spray wd 40 in there, it would have literally removed the water out of there, and then i even have electronic see that’s, where that’s electronic parking that’s made for electrical components like you can spray that in it’s alcohol and it cleans it out and it’s Made for that or dust off blowing it out of there and just man so there’s no point thinking about it anymore, but yeah just want to share that with you guys so stay tuned, Jeg vil, probably try to release something later on tomorrow or today.
