You got to spend some time at the track, comparing the two big euro carpet: Marken, shear marker cat l1 evo over here on the left and the x ray 21 xb4c. These are the two most popular brands in europe. Hopefully you can serve uk part of europe. Wenn nicht,, i apologize but x ray huge, huge huge in europe in carpet. Uh schumacher, Natürlich, has been known for making excellent carpet cars for the last. Ich weiß es nicht 25 Jahre, oder so etwas wie das. So if you want to race carpet uh, these are definitely two vehicles to take a look at. They are super popular. Those people out there over in europe know how to make carpet cars, so i just want to share my thoughts as well share some running footage. First off, if you want to get cat l1 evo, definitely check out discount rc store uh. They pretty much are a schumacher specialist here in the united states and the x ray xb4, i got from euro rc again really awesome shop. They do ship worldwide. If you’re interested in this or pretty much any other vehicle, so yeah first thoughts, i did drive the shoe marker first. It is a very kind of stiff, stable vehicle, ich würde sagen,, for the most part, are working on trying to get more steering without uh traction rolling.

So i did make some a little bit of changes. Ich denke, since my last video i haven’t driven this in a while, but um instead of running. You know no center brace i’m now running uh, the santa brace with a couple of screws missing there. So grab two screws up here: two screws in the back just to have kind of minimal stiffness there. This is a very, very stiff car. It pretty much, Ich denke, suffers a little bit from steering. So there are some other option parts i ordered. I am going to be messing with setup in the upcoming weeks uh because i think there’s a lot more that can be had out of this vehicle i’m going to be checking out more on the michael orlowski setups as well. I think they might uh suit kind of my driving style as well, so uh yeah this car a little bit more drag on the 13.5 Motor. So not quite as quick as my other 13.5 four wheel drive buggies to me a little bit more of a mod car, but obviously it is a dedicated, uh sort of astroturf carpet type of vehicle, so uh does excel in that area, as though i think there Is still a lot of room for improvement here, at least in my particular vehicle, so um a little bit more difficult to drive in my pin. You do definitely have to land this pretty clean. There are a lot of adjustments with the drag brake and the belt tensioners, and all that kind of stuff that you will definitely want to make sure is set correctly because that will affect how it handles so a little bit more difficult to drive.

Meiner Meinung nach, not quite as forgiving the x ray, i got a chance to run and pretty much i’m running completely car kit carpet setup uh, with the only changes being stiffer springs, vorne und hinten. So i’m running five dot springs in the front. Four dot springs in the rear and that’s pretty much it. I think in terms of changes, it’s pretty much totally kit set up and runs really really well other than that and uh. Another local, fast guy bruno did get a chance to run this, so you can definitely see uh he’s a much better driver than i am a lot more capable with this vehicle. So um it’s nice to see somebody that can actually drive pretty well as opposed to me. Who’S. Just kind of a mediocre driver at best, but um x, ray is super fast drive. Training is super free. I do have the width ceramic, bearing so that does speed things up: um ja, so pretty quick vehicle overall for the most part, tons of steering you’re going to be trying to dial it down a bit either reducing the speed on your servo or reducing your dual Rate or both even um yeah, just super fast overall uh. Tire selection of course makes a big difference for the most part you know. I'M. I try to run really grippy uh tires up front on the shoe market because i do feel like it could use a little more steering the x ray a little bit uh more forgiving on.

I guess less grippy tires kind of these worn out cactus fusions i’m running up front with cactus rear, so uh yeah, definitely more steering than you can shake a fist at so uh that that’s one of the hallmarks i think of the x ray it’s, also just Kind of quick in general, es ist es, es ist, a very light vehicle, carries a lot of corner, Geschwindigkeit, um and just fairly easy to drive. Although there’s a lot of steering uh with the shoe marker, so the parts i ordered up, i did order up the. I think they’re called like the roach uh double jointed front, Antriebswellen, because um i feel like uh. You know pretty much for carpet vehicles. It’S nice to have those you do get a little bit more forward, bind a little bit forward grip with the standard cva. So that does tend to make it understeer a little bit so that will free up the front end. A little bit also picked up the eight degree uh aluminum uh. What are they called? The caster blocks, Ich vermute, or the yolks schumacher likes to calm, so that gives you a little more direct steering not quite so laid back should make it a little more aggressive in steering. Why so that, Ich denke, will help as well. So i did order up those parts. Another popular option part is the flex chassis, which i also think would make a big difference. It’S out stuck right now, but um it’s also a little bit expensive.

I think about 60 Dollar, but that would also, Ich denke, help quite a bit. This is a very stiff vehicle. I finally realized why it’s so stiff it’s pretty much because of this belt drive system. You can’t have like too much twist or too much tracks. Always these belts start twisting and flexing and basically skipping teeth. Also, for the most part, uh these belt drive vehicles are gon na, be fairly stiff down the center to keep those belts in line so anyways uh check out this running footage i’ll show you the schumacher. I’Ll show you me driving the x ray as well as a local, fast guy bruno driving the x ray. Nein, it is not that bruno, but it is another bruno who’s, a quick guy. Insgesamt, he told me he qualified, or he finished 10th in the on road touring car mod division, so he does qualify for the world championships in touring car on carpet mod, so congrats to him.
