Dromida Backbone Unboxing und First Impression Review – 1/10TH-Skala-RTR

You might remember our uh matco buggy. I ran that around a bit for a video. Gut, Heute, i’ve got the new brand new drama to backbone. Just came into my hobby shop today and i had to have it so let’s get this unboxed and see what we got Music Music. So now this comes in two colors, tan and gray. I opted for the gray and slow motion there. We go it’s a 1 10 Skala, Rock Racer, as they call it so i’m expecting something a little bit faster than a typical crawler it’s, not the first time the box was opened actually it’s the first time it’ll be out of the box with the hobby shop And pull this off the shelf and immediately somebody else came up, fell in love with it and they bought the canned one. So we got a silica gel packet. Those are great for snacking on, especially with your peep jerky. Na bitte 1 10 Skala. That suspension feels nice too. It’S got some linkage in there. It’S got threaded shocks, they uh looks like they have aluminum bodies on it, pretty nice and it’s. Natürlich, just like all dramas come ready to run. You have your aaa batteries in here, and you have some drama stickers for those that are inclined to like draw the stickers. You have your grandpa’s charger, because it’s going to take forever to charge that thing. So what we’re going to do is we’re going to get into this.

Look at it i’m, going to pop her on the uh profit sport mini here i have the little squid adapter on it, so i can fit a multitude of everything let’s get into this body. Hier, nett, Chrome, pins, black pins are nice. They blend in with the body, but good luck, finding one if you drop it so all right now. This is supposedly a rebranded helion, so helion horizon hobbies that you’re done for and andromeda has now been picked them up for horizon hobby. So got a nice spare tire on there body seems pretty durable. It’S got a frame inside it. That runs the whole length of it: fake people that’s, Okay, so you got a nice velcro strap here for the battery we’ll zoom in on this here, it’s a pretty nice setup. Here you get your heat sink on your motor, das 550 gebürsteter Motor, nicht ganz sicher. If i’m going to go brushless on this, but if i do you guys will be the first to know a nice heat sink over the esc, nice velcro straps on the battery here it looks like pretty easy to swap them out. Nice rubbery feel of the wires. Are not some cheap, you know garbage there, 7.2 cell nickel metal hydride battery, so i have heard with the hellions i’ll. Take the 2s lipos i’m, probably going to go 2s lipo on this and see what i can get out of it for torque. I get a little strap here.

I have to cut oh wow there. We go really wakes that rear suspension up now. Look at that it’s got a metal crossbar here. Nice linkages so really get some some flex in there. Underneath you have an aluminum body on this, which is uh indicative more of your crawlers, your your speed. Demons are going to be more of a plastic body, but uh nice thread aluminum shocks. You can adjust these on. The fly really well, maybe not on the fly, but as you go, you can just quick adjust them. Nicht. Look like you need any special tools, so let’s get into this. Get this battery charged up and get her out and runner. Gut, i almost forgot about one of the most important things about having an rc car the controller, so the controller is a not like other controllers that i’m used to using you have a little tab on the back here. You push in and slide off your handle. Then you have another little tab here that pops off the cover and the batteries fit down in there there’s a little white sticker gives you battery directions and just pops back on and it’s easier to hold that little tab up, slides right on it’s, not very big It’S, a basic plastic handle you know, but it’s comfortable. I have big hands, i wear an extra large glove, so i could use something bigger. I could do something smaller. This is actually a pretty nice size.

Considering you know, i’m at the bigger end of the spectrum. For hand, size and so smaller hands should have a problem with this kids and like a nice foam covered wheel on here, the controller nice nice layout. You have digital buttons here for your trim and your throttle and uh to bind it little button here on your esc press with the battery in fully charged you press that led starts blinking turn your controller on and the light will go solid on the controller and Led when they’re, when they’re bound and then you’re ready to go so first on the agenda drop test, hey so so: Applaus, Musik, Musik, so Musikapplaus, oh Musik, Musik, what’s, up Music, Äh, Musik, all right so i’m, here with the star of the show drama, the Backbone just got through watching me rip it around a little bit. Uh controller was real nice real responsive. I can crawl real slow with it or i can open it up. Run fast, i’ve heard reports of the helion running about 15 Meilen pro Stunde. I think the speed test and some other uh trickery is going to be in the future for another upcoming video. Vorerst, you know i’m pretty happy with the speed for a rock crawler she’s, pretty quick when you open her up and she got nice to pull nice and low. I didn’t really run out of torque for what i had here. I ran out of traction, so the big hang up on this seems to be the open differentials thought a couple times: ich habe, it hung up or high sided where just the open differentials just worked against getting me free.

I had to go over and give her a nudge um, some foam, earplugs or some tissues shoved into differentials should fix that. I might revisit this at a later video and do some homemade blocking differentials so we’ll see, but for now i really like it. The tires seem to have really good traction uh the front noticeably are squishier than the rear. So if that’s something you like on your cars it’s how it comes set up, one tenth scale, Ich denke, is a beautiful scale. Es ist es, es ist, not too big it’s, not too small. It can go over damn near everything here.
