Honda Key FOB Battery Change (Smart Key Remote) – For Accord, Civic, CRV, Pilot, Odyssey, Ridgeline
Now this key fob is universally shared. So if you have a Honda Accord, got an odyssey, a pilot, Ridgeline, CRV Civic. Im grunde, if you’re driving a Honda, you have this key fob, and this comes up all the time after about a year or so you go get a warning light in your car same battery low, and you know you still have some time after you see that message. You still have some time to get a replace but I’m here to tell you you can change this out within a minute as long as you have the battery, if you don’t it’s, Okay, you can order online, but it is super simple. You don’t want to bring this into the dealership to do because they’re gon na charge you 20 30 bucks to get it done when you can do it yourself within minutes for basically free alright. So all you have to do is flip this over. You see that there is this little switch and you you push down on it and then the key comes out. This is emergency key. So if you need to unlock your door and the battery is out completely let’s say this is completely dry or your car. You know it has no more power you can use this to get in. This is a manual way so after you have to key out. If you look in here, there’s somewhere, like right there in between these two, I don’t know what you call it, but these two rivets or or placeholders or whatever.
Im grunde, you stick your key right in between the two and you can see right there and now you twist and that’s it. You don’t even need any tools to open this up, and once you open it up, you could see that the battery right there and the battery that you need cr2032. Now you can find this locally or you could buy it online like on Amazon, and I put a link in the description of this video. You know once you have this open, just take a flat head, screwdriver, stick it in there, pull it out and that’s it that’s it so like. I said this could be done within a minute and you saved yourself, 20 Oder 30 bucks now to put back together same thing and reverse order. Put a battery back in. Take the cover make sure you line it right right and then you this basically squeeze and that’s it. You can put your key back it’s as simple as that it takes less than less than one minute to do, and now you saved yourself, 20 Oder 30 Dollar. Okay, so just make sure you get the right battery, buy it online or find it at a local store in emergency pinch. You can even buy the battery on a Honda dealership and save yourself, the labor, but they’ll probably up charge the battery. Now you know how to do this yourself and again, this key fob. So if you have a civic Accord, a pilot, a Ridgeline and Odyssey, this will work for your car, Gut, guys thanks for checking this out.

Sehr hilfreich. Vielen Dank!
Thanks a lot man you saved me trip to a Honda dealership.
I can’t seem to get the battery out with a screw driver. The whole inside lifts up instead of the battery. Not sure why they make them this difficult to change.
Thanks bro!!

Danke. I use the a dime to open the remote. I didn't know you could just use the key itself.
Vielen Dank! 🙂
One very important thing! Hold it together really hard when you pop it open, and lay it down on its face while holding it together OR ALL THE INSIDES fall out!! The pieces are tiny and are not glued down. Have tweezers ready…🙄

Using the key to split the fob housing open will not work. Simply use a flat head screwdriver to pry open.
So great. I've used this video two years in a row. (I forget in between). Vielen Dank!!!!!!
No drama in explaining how it's done. Even though I've replaced the battery on my key fob almost 2 Jahren, that span of time can make one forget the steps on how to do it and videos like these serve as an instant tutorial just to recall the initial steps and everything would come back. Vielen Dank dafür.
Spent an hour trying to figure out how to open the fob. Finally went to You Tube and had the battery replaced within minutes.
I changed the battery, but now I have to hold the remote really close to the "start engine" button for it to work. Do I have to re-sync the remote?
Thanks for the info. I was able to buy a pack of 8 batteries at IKEA for $2.99. Save the extras for your garage remote or whatever else that use the CR2032 battery.
Beeindruckend!!! God bless you for this video!!!!
