How to Replace the Battery on a Ford Remote and Relearn it
So I got into the car drove those 50 kilometers and once I get out and tried to lock the door using two remotes, nothing happens like not even two hazards. Flash here take a look, nothing. I can still lock and unlock the car by using the key start it and drive, but the remote just doesn’t work. I know that the battery in the remote was slowly dying because the distance where I could unlock my car got smaller and smaller with time. You know a year or two ago I could easily unlock the car from 40 metres away, but just a few weeks ago I can only do it like 15 metres away so it’s a bit weird because usually when the batteries start to go on these remotes at The lowest point you have to stand right next to the car to be able to unlock it, but this just you know it worked fine, but an hour later it doesn’t work at all. So I suspect that it might not just be the battery. It might also be the remote or there might be something wrong with the car, but first let’s try to replace the battery in their remotes so to replace the battery in a Ford remote that looks like this. You will need a flathead screwdriver and a small one. So what you need to do is open a key and there are two holes. Can you can see? Yeah there’s some one there’s two stick the screwdriver into the first hole and push the end of the screwdriver towards the key and the remote should open up there.
You go see like that and then what you need to do is you can use the screwdriver for that or the key is to pry it open. Stick it like that and just push it downwards or upwards there. It opens up and there’s battery so let’s remove the old battery and here’s the new battery closer. Oh right now, batman keychain push together there we go and now slide the key end on the remote make sure it’s aligned and there we go let’s see if it works, see still doesn’t work, nothing nope nothing. So I did a online search that maybe a fuse could be responsible for the remote, not working, but I found something else that in some cases, when you replace the battery on the remote, the car has to relearn it and let’s. Try to do that so supposedly. For the car to relearn your remote, what you need to do is turn focus. There is turn the key from position 0 to position 2 4 times in 6 seconds, and you have to finish on 0. Supposedly then, the car should make a beep and then press any button on the remote. The car should make another beep then turn the key to position 2 and that supposedly finishes they’re learning it now let’s see if that works. Για μενα, ok, Αυτό είναι, good, a shot. So one two three four: okay there’s, the beep Applause. There was no beep. Εντάξει, now let’s try to turn it on position two and that supposedly finishes it.
Let’S get a shot. It works. That was my phone. It doesn’t let’s, try one more time. Εντάξει, so one two three four: Εντάξει, that was the beep no to position. Two okay. Does it work? Hey did ha nice. Let me do it one more time. Oh yes! Ναι, thank god. It worked. I was worried that the remote might be bad because replacing those remotes is not exactly cheap. So supposedly this learning feature is not for all cars and some cars you just replace the battery and you’re good to go, but anyways that’s it for today’s video. I hope you liked the video.
