PROJECT SKiD! (PT 6) IT WORKS!! CAT SKiD STEER COMES to LiFE! LESU LT5H | RC ΠΕΡΙΠΈΤΕΙΕς
Stopping this skid steer uh from having its hydraulics primed properly. Now i did clear that out and i checked every single banjo pin on this model made sure all the hoses were clear. All the hydraulics are functioning perfectly on this right now. Uh and a lot of people will ask me about the white skid loader and i have to say, after a thorough investigation, i have to return the whole uh pump system there for them to uh warranty and have a look at. In fact, i did do a video about my thorough investigation if you want to check up in the information link up above here or check in the video player down below, where i’ll leave a link to that unlisted video. If you guys really want to delve into it, but the build will continue with my orange cat loader, i find that very interesting, as that is the full size loader i have that’s. Rc anyway, is a cat and i’m sure. I will see this unit moving in a few weeks it’s. Just in the interim, i want to make sure i’ve got one and up and on the go. A lot of people were asking me: do they think that that was the issue with the excavator build that i had was that i used too much thread lock and i would like to say these. Banjo pins are a lot smaller than on that excavator build, and what turned out to be wrong with the excavator build was the hydraulic block itself.
There was a design flaw and less who ended up warranting that for all of their customers, uh back in that day, i got a replacement. I know other people did as well and so that’s why it was easy to default to think that they had had a hydraulic block issue uh here uh and again. If you look at that video over there, i think you’ll find it an interesting find for sure, but regardless i want to see one of these up and on the go and on the move. Uh. All of these things are working just fine, like here’s the hydraulics on this one. I have it mixed right. You know i don’t have a lot of practice with this model, yet because i’m still building it speaking of building let’s, get to it. The escs over here, the electronics, is something that i want to tackle, and these are the two electronic speed controls. Let’S just go ahead and unbag one of these, for you pretty straightforward what it comes with. It has your switches on the end. If you want to do like forward forward brake forward, reverse that kind of thing, as well as your on off switch, this is the esc plug. Normally, it comes with a red wire i’ve, already dipped into this and cut the red wire out. Why would you do that? I’Ll? Take this negative black wire off there as well just so i have this signal wire and i’m going to show you.
Why? Because i have several esc’s best practice would be not to overcharge your receiver. Now some receivers can take over charging. Some cannot best practice is is when you’re using multiple esc’s, which i am one for the brushless motor that runs the uh. That runs the hydraulics one for the drive motor and then another esc for the other drive motor. So that’s three altogether, i don’t want three esc’s powering this receiver, so i actually just run it straight off of the brushless esc, which is right here and that powers the entire receiver. Everything else is going to get powered straight through the receiver as well like the servos, so that’s no issue there and we can go ahead and just direct plug these right into the battery. So easy. Εντάξει, according to the instruction sheet there is the right walking esc is what it’s supposed to say in the left: walking they go up into a splitter on each of them. One has the red wire coming from the sound board and the a light board, and one has the blue wire that goes so. Each one of those each esc is going to have a splitter one. Splitter is going to have the blue wire. One splitter is going to have the red wire, so here is one splitter with the blue, and here is the esc going into that splitter, and here is one with the red and then the esc going into that splitter.
Both of those are going to go to the receiver. Now there is a lot of wire and cable in here guys, and so, when i see really long, motor wire leads, like this i’m, going to end up trimming these all the way down to here, because i don’t need a lot of length on these right. I just need to have them fit in now. A lot of you guys will be like what about the signal like you’re, going to have interference and noise coming from the motors, and all i can say is that lesu has designed this to have the whole chip. This whole chip with the wires right underneath the motors so i’m, not really too concerned we’ll, see how it works out overall there’s, the speaker i already have it plugged in and then everything goes to lights now: Εγώ είμαι., not a big lights guy. I don’t really care too much because i usually use mine in the in the lit environments, but i want to really focus on making it walk today, as well as getting some of those sounds working with two esc’s i’m going to go ahead and remove these wires. For the on off switch i’m actually just going to tie them together down here and then twist them off, and it will end up looking like this little stub, like a dog’s tail that you nubbed off hey that way, it’s always on, and when i unplug the Battery it turns everything off when i plug it back in that’s when it turns it on so there’s the switch off to the side.
So what we do in the trail, trucks as well right, so you don’t, have to get a rusty switch and then it’s a real point of a pain in the butt for you, you just twist them together and you’re good to go now i’m using a 10 Channel receiver on here this is a fly sky 10 channel receiver. I always seem to use these radios because they’ve got these great uh side dials that are really good for like excavators or hydraulics, because you can use these tracks or wheels uh with the dials and then all your controls can still be with your sticks right here. Οπότε είμαι., going to go ahead, Εγώ είμαι., going to go into system actually into function, Εγώ είμαι., going to go down on the touchscreen to my auxiliary channels, then i’m going to go up and i’ve plugged each one of these esc’s. Now that i’ve, quick, soldered them uh into channel 7 and into channel 8. so channel 7 is going to be one of my uh dials on the side, so that’ll be number a or vra and then number eight is going to be vrb. There we go. I might have to reverse that, depending on which side is which, and then that should be good for driving. These are the two cables i cut off of each esc for the motors, and this was for the battery i’m going to go ahead and plug this into the battery line and then cut this a little bit shorter and tie these two together red to red and Then black to black now, although i did connect the brushless esc to power i’m going to disconnect that now and i’m going to basically take these leads, join red to red and black to black, and then just have this one lead which will power all three escs I’Ll make this wire a little bit.
Bigger, got two 14 gauge pieces of wire i’m just going to strip those on the ends. Here are some quick connect, solder joints. I use the center of the flame, so nothing gets black on my lighter here. Nothing gets black on the plastic, just sealing up one end and then i shrink the other end. Watch your watch, your fingers once they’re, sealed on either side. Then i melt the solder in the middle just takes a moment and there we go done and then i’m just going to let that cool off same thing on the negative lead. I’Ll leave a link to where i got these on amazon. In the video description box. Down below, if you find it helpful, these are great when i’m out on the trail or i need a quick fix there, we go let that cool off. Εντάξει, Στη συνέχεια, if i go back to the main right there in theory, if i plug this in now Music, i have everything plugged in each one of these, esc’s is hooked up to the motor. The receiver is powered. This should be for, like the yellow cable. Here is going to channel number 10. This will be on a three position switch so down and then up to start it. Ναι, i don’t think there’s any volume control. I don’t see any volume control on it now. The weird thing is is that this is only going to function with sound on one side: Αυτό είναι, not the side, the other side.
Εντάξει, so i got to get all this tucked away, but we do have power nice do we have hydraulics? We do okay. This is a good sign, Εγώ είμαι.. Loving it all right. So i am only using a 2s lipo today and i’ve got to say guys. There are so many cables. I’M gon na have to spend hours and hours shortening up cables i’m going to do that off. Camera there’s just no point in the tediousness in a film uh, plus the trouble it is to film all that kind of stuff, but here let’s see, can i turn it on now. Let’S move. This back got a smaller battery on order there’s on here’s the horn. Εντάξει, hydraulic, sir, what about driving? Ω, my god, guys it moves! Oh my god after so much trouble right! Oh my gosh! What a great way to start the year! Oh come on! Ω! Όχι! What happened? Nothing happened. Just controlling, probably getting some air out of there. Come on this is all me is all predictable movements that i’m actually making right here, holy cow there. It is guys. All i have to do is some shortening uh of cables. Then i can build the cab and we have ourselves a skid steer. Φορτωτής. Is it this way? It is look at that so cool wow, Εντάξει, i know a lot of you guys want size comparisons. You want me to put this beside things, but i don’t even have it all built.
Yet i just want to say thank you all. For sticking with me, while i’ve been battling my way through these builds, i think it’s really cool. I love all the comments of support. Ευχαριστώ. Everyone’S been wishing me a you know a great year ahead and i think it’s going to be when i see things like this eh yeah. I just have to learn how to use this. Now i can use my full size, no problem i’m, going to make it equal uh the same controls, but i just have to get the smoothness of operation down so cool Applause, yeah it’s, a skid loader, it skids side to side, unbelievable.
