This isnt LGR Jazz music, Welcome to CONATH oddware. Where were taking a look at hardware and software that is odd, forgotten and obsolete.. Jazz stops Like this YouTube Channel is Swing, musical accent, Jazz resumes Right. Today were looking at this lovely abomination. The DREAM Cheeky USB RC Car. Its a tiny RC car, the kind you might pick up for five dollars at the gas station, except you control it from your Windows PC. I couldnt believe what I was looking at when I stumbled upon this on eBay, but I just had to have it. Taking a look at the amazingly red box it comes in, we can see it offers speedy radio controlled racing. Apparently, the car charges in this actual garage, No way., Hahaha Man, look at this odd Windows, XP Logo, USB connect and Online Support seems legit.. Καλά, if these illustrations are anything to go by, it really does charge in this actual garage. Lets see whats on the back.. We get our first look at what appears to be the included. Software. quotThe package contains CD with software user guide and online support. Link. Powered by USB with 4 feet of cable. Hang on So which is it radio control or four feet of USB cable. That seems rather short for an RC car. Ούτως ή άλλως, at the bottom. Here we can see a copyright date of 2007 by Dream Link Limited from Hong Kong. Minimum System Requirements of a Pentium 3 at 1.
5 Ghz 800 by 600 screen and 256 megs of RAM.. By the way notice the merchant sticker on the bottom right., It says: Playtastic Mini Car, Radio and USB. – Make up your mind already Over on the left of the box. Here, almost missed that it readsRC car with sticker and Car charge and charger.. Καλά, I guess its time to find out if its all car charge or no charge at all Jazz ends smoothly, Relaxed Jazz, music. Καλά, the listing said quotcomplete in boxquot.. I sure hope so because someone has been in here. Before. Everything sits in this clear plastic. Tray. Lets set the box aside here and take a closer look.. First thing we get is the manual written in French clears throat, French Mini Car tlguide et garage USB., That clears things up.. The car is remote, controlled and comes with a USB powered garage.. On the first page here, it seems like we get an overview of the software controls, arrow keys printed on here. Man. This could be quite the racer indeed, if it works at all, No idea what the little pyramid thing at the bottom is about, but well take another look at that. Later. Second page is not the second page at all, actually. Its the manual in German.. No English version it seems. Moving on theres, a strongly yellowed set of stickers Seems like the previous owner, used two rectangular ones already, because you can see two white spots up there.
Jazz. We got that the manual and then the third loose item is the software CD.. Always good to have those, especially in this case, Compatible with Windows XP.. Oh Please, install CD before connecting unit to USB Port., Theyre, very specific about that. So I guess thats what Im going to do. Plastic crinkles? Finally, heres the exciting bit. Inside the plastic tray sits the tiny RC car and a surprisingly large garage with a USB lead hanging out. The back. Looks like the tray splits apart in the middle there, we go. The garage decided to stick with the top half and the car remains in the other half of the tray here. Chuckles Man its like a cross between a Mini Cooper and the rear. End of a very wide Alfa Romeo. And look at those rear, wheels, man theyre at least one and a half times as large as the front wheels. Weird Im noticing two metal contacts at the back. So I assume you back it into the garage to charge it up. Cheeky Lets take a quick look at that as well. Its very dark beige with a brown roof., A grey button on the side here, wonder what that does. Ah Alright thats what that does. Lets! Peek inside and see if we can see those suspected charging contacts., What do you know there? Alright Chuckles Hahaha WOW., The box and manual werent lying about the software at all its exactly what was promised and yet Im incredibly underwhelmed.. Oh well. Ill. Just make sure the car is parked and connect up the garage, here., Ah crap Instructions unclear car stuck in ceiling of garage NOOO. There we go freed., Taking a closer look at the UI here. The traffic light on the right says: GO even though I havent plugged the thing in yet., Thats concerning., Making sure to get this. The right way: up. Windows, XP Da Ding, sound Da ding. New hardware, detected Rocket Baby Heh great device naming right there.. I noticed the charging indicator briefly flashed on the garage. I wonder what that means., Alright got a bit of a wider camera angle. Here. Lets see if she runs. Whats. This New hardware was installed but needs a restart.

Ούτως ή άλλως, the cars been in there for a good minute lets see if its charged up Yet. Clicking doesnt do much Car engine revs up Wow. Cheap engine noises. How do I make it? Hearty laugh, inhales, Yes Time for a drag race Against a ruler.
, Yeah man. This is the only RC car I own. So this is going to have to do. Car engine revs up Thud Quiet laugh Winner And it survived the fall, but now it seems to be stuck in forward.. It wont stop Oh no.. Καλά, I figured out why it didnt stop., Seemingly the garage which contains the antenna, gets stuck sending forward and I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to work. Ξανά. Plus the car cant be very close to the garage or it wont work at all. Ούτως ή άλλως. Enough messing around lets build a little track and see if it handles well at all or if I simply cant, handle it., indifferent, Jazz music Im using these two VR controllers to mark the center of a figure of eight track.. Turning on the car Let’s see if we can do a little loop, here. And nothing again, Apparently it needs to be quite far away from the garage to get a consistent signal.. Oh yeah, smack whirring smack whirring whirring Yay, Oh it’s too close.. I think it’s time for a final test before we let this thing rest in peace.. I was thinking to myself what better way to go than in a movie stunt., So were going to attempt to jump the little car off its own box and see how that goes., Fast paced intense drums tires squealing Fast, paced, intense Jazz, music, Fast paced, intense Jazz, Music Engine revs up Groovy, fast, paced, Jazz plastic impact smack smack clack clack clack, And that about wraps it up for the DREAM: cheeky USB RC car.
. What can I say? It delivers precisely what was promised and its really a lot of fun to control this little car from a Windows PC., Especially when you realize that this mid 2000s corporate business laptop is being used as a toy remote control.. At the same time, the whole setup is remarkably underwhelming at best.. I can tolerate the janky software cheap, build quality and generally poor radio reception. thud laughs. What adds insult to injury here is the noticeable delay between pressing a key and the cars reaction, which makes it darn near impossible to stay on any kind of track.. Καλά, I guess it’s time to end this before I go even more off track.. If you enjoyed this, video youll find plenty more just like this over at LGR. This is just a light. Hearted copycat video that I felt like making and I wholeheartedly recommend you subscribe to LGR instead, as this is more than likely a one off for me.
