We got another fun video for you today, which we are going to answer. What is the best stunt truck on the market today? Estos son 1 8 Escala, ish monster truck. So what is a stun track? Bien, this is something invented by thomas peterson: he’s got the youtube channel, tpparts extreme definitely check out his channel, but what he did was basically take an arma creighton, which is like an eighth scale trolley with those super wide arms, and he mounted that all onto like A typhon like a short wheelbase, uh chassis, so a stunt truck by definition means like an eight scale, buggy with the arms wheels and tires of a truckee. So what you end up with is like a really wide vehicle, with a really short wheelbase, really good for doing stunts. Obviously so you end up with something that just like wheelies, like crazy, usually has a lot of power, has a really big wheels and tires and really wide arm so it’s easy to land uh, pretty much designed for doing flips back flips front flips triples just launching It straight up in the air trying to do some crazy things in the air and then be able to land it so they’re, generally good for truck tricks and stuff, Me gusta, not so much for stability. Obviously they’re meant for rotating in there. They’Re meant for doing like huge, wheelies and stuff like that, and what we’ve done is assemble the four stunt trucks on the market today, so these are ordered in uh the release, order that they came out, and that is going to be the techno mt410 over here.
On the left, por lo que es, the only one that comes as a kit sells for 450 aquí en los estados unidos, you will have to provide your own electronics, your own body, your own wheels and tires. So obviously you have to put it together. Next up we have the traxxas max or actually the wide max. So what we’ve done is take a regular max, which is kind of a i guess, kind of a 10 scale truck but really kind of a super size. 10 scale truck and the wide max kit gives you like that extra width extra wide arms and gives you kind of that stunt track. Look so uh. These two are run on 4s that’s. What they’re designed for some people run them on 6s, but i just run them on. Sabes, sort of how they came and then over here on the right. We got the two uh eight scale: trucks that are marketed as stunt tracks, so the original outcast from arma and his twin sister here, the notorious or the outcast notorious exact same vehicle. This is the v5 version. They don’t make an attorney i’m. Sorry they don’t make an outcast v5, so we’ve we’ve picked up basically the latest notorious v5 but they’re. The same truck and that’s kind of the original stunt truck that arma came out with uh in response to what thomas p was doing with his crazy armor and then finally, here on the right we’ve got the team corelli dementor.
This is the v2 v2 version new for 2021 and obviously it takes some styling cues from the notorious it’s got that ford 50s look, Uh, sort of retro mod, look um and uh, but anyways the the dementor again it’s got the short wheelbase chassis it’s got the Triggy, Brazos, the really white arms really big tires and some insane power and uh is again another stunt track on the market. So what i did was rank these from fourth to first, basically giving a score in six different categories: um, the tech note does not have a score for the electronics because it does not come with electronics, so that score is left blank. But i added up all these ranking from a number from one to ten in each category, five would be average as compared to other vehicles in its class in the stunt track. Clase 10 would basically be best in class and would be would be really really poor. Add all the scores up and then i actually gave it a running average for all those categories, because the techno does not have an electronic score. So it wouldn’t really be fair to give it a zero or a five or ten order in that category, because it depends on what electronics you pick up. So yeah let’s get to it and find out what the best stunt truck is on the market. In fourth place is the team corelli dementor v2, so team corelli has been around for a few decades in the rc space, but they’re kind of new to the 8th scale, rtr bashers market.
So they came out with a full series of 8th scale bashers about a year ago, a little over a year ago. Those were the v1 versions, and then they came out with some updates. They call them the v2 versions, and this is the team corelli dementor v2. So they also make the jambo, which is like a sister truck just with the different body and tires but yeah the dementor v2. Pretty cool little truck has some highs and lows. Sabes. Desafortunadamente, it does have some weaknesses, me siento, but the highs are the really good electronics. So it comes with this uh team crowley, kuron 825 motor and then the toro x, blx 185 easy just fantastic power plant. This is the most powerful motor out of the bunch. Es, Loco, crazy fast. This thing can do triple backflips up in the air it’s. Just insane probably could do even quadruple backflips i don’t know. I haven’t attempted that if you had a big enough ramp, i think you could do quadruple backflips, just a ridiculous amount of power. The tires are good. Uh performance is actually really really good and that’s. One of the highlights of this vehicle performance i’m rating. It a 7 de 10 Bien, above average, the electronics an eight out of ten. So those are really the two highlights of this vehicle: the value at 550. Es, Justo, you know not really expensive, not really cheap, but a decent price for what you get just pretty high quality vehicle overall weaknesses of this thing are, the shocks are, Sabes, need some re tuning.
They definitely need stiffer springs. They definitely thicker shock oils, but really the main weakness of this is the durability. I do feel like the dementor is probably most likely to bend or break things out of the bunch. I have bent the center drive shaft several times. I have broken front chassis, braces, rear chassis, braces, um, even bent the shock tower and the ackermann plate. So this thing you definitely can send it way high in the air, but doesn’t quite have the durability. Todavía, en mi opinión, to match, i also did break the servo, although that is pretty much my fault, because i turn tighten the servo saver all the way, but yeah electronics are absolutely the best in class. Performance is really really good, just the durability. There is not at up to uh par with all the other vehicles and then also on the support maintenance side. Team crowley is a smaller brand here in the united states, a little bit more difficult to pick up parts i’m. I got i get stuff from your rc and they do carry uh pretty much all the parts, including a lot of the option, parts and that’s the other area. Me siento, como tú, probably want to take a look at the aluminum chassis braces. I think help quite a bit both front and rear. That does help, but it’s still get a bit of chassis flex and it is still possible. Then some drive, shafts and dog bones and stuff like that.
So yeah dementor v2, Creo, is a solid effort from team crowley. Estoy. Looking for more and improved things, uh to come from them in the future super exciting to see someone you know take on arma at their own game and really come out with something that i think is comparable, maybe not quite there on their durability side, but certainly On the performance side, they they have mastered the speed and the craziness of what you know stunt trucks are all about in third place is one of my favorite bashers of all time. This is the traxxas max again sells for 550 aquí en los estados unidos. Although i did turn it into the wide max which basically adds longer arms on all four corners, stiffer springs basically to match those longer arms and then some longer drive shafts as well in the latest round of the widemax kit. So the the wi max kit sells for fifty dollars. You have to add that to the cost of the max for 550., so a total of six hundred dollars to get the full on wide max stunt truck style vehicle. Now this is a 4s rtr does obviously come with the traxxas electronics. Some highs of the max it is super durable. The max to me is one of the most durable rc cars on the market. Today i gave an 8 de 10, which actually is a little bit lower than the regular max. I feel like the regular max is a little more durable with the shorter arms with the shorter drive shafts.
That thing is actually a little more durable, because these aren’t these wheels and tires are not sticking out so far there’s, not as much leverage on these things. When you crash on a quarter the tires tucked in a little bit more so i do feel like the durability of the wide max is a little bit lower than the regular max, but still a hugely durable vehicle overall now, the other great thing about traxxas is That their parts are the most easily available at your local hobby shop online, pretty much all around the world. You can get tracks as part, por lo que es, one of the great things about traxxas say what you will about their business practices, pero son, really excellent about providing local hobby shops with lots of parts and parts are generally pretty much always available. Now the downsides of the max, not a big fan of the design i do feel like the shocks – are a little bit too short here in the rear, and there are some upgrades and stuff like that. You can look into to actually lengthen those rear shocks. Stiffer springs and that kind of thing, but yeah performance of this it’s better than the regular max a little more stable, a little easier to drive, definitely lands a little more forgivingly because you do have those wider arms. You just can kind of land it halfway and you know sort of like the rest of it will kind of absorb it, but uh yeah it’s, not that fast.
The 4s max is probably the slowest of all these. This truck feels pretty heavy it’s got a pretty heavy drivetrain. I mean it’s a very durable drivetrain, but on the other hand it does take a while to get all those metal discs and center diffs and all that stuff going, and you will find that this is probably the slowest of the bunch. You can only do double backflips. Pretty much cannot do triple backflips with this thing, así que sí, the max again also does uh lack a bit in traction with the stock wheels, so i did swap them out for these badlands, but the stock tire is not particularly good. So all that combined it’s not really that great of a stunt truck and then the last thing is it just doesn’t land that well either so that, like i mentioned the rear shocks, are too short uh. You definitely will want to up the spring rates. The shock oils as well to get this to land halfway decently, but it will still chassis slap a lot because there’s just not a lot of travel here in the rear end. So yeah traxxas max um, one of my favorite vehicles. The final score is going to be 33, with an average of 5.5 across all the categories. I also feel like the value is not quite there at 600 that’s pretty much the most expensive of the rtrs again is the slowest it’s got kind of the worst servo um, so yeah i do feel like it’s overpriced as well so yeah final thoughts on the Traxxas max it comes in third place, super durable, Creo, es, probably the most newbie or beginner friendly, because it is easy to get parse.
It is the most durable, but you know if you’re looking for performance, if you’re looking to do crazy things with this rc car, the max is probably not the best choice. First and second place was really really close. I think both the arma notorious v5 and the techno mt410 are both excellent. Stun tracks i’d be happy to own either of these uh. If you want one or the other, you know you’re, really not making a bad choice. They’Re both awesome stunt trucks, but for me the notorious comes in second now. Obviamente, the notorious is an rtr. It comes with. Electronics, comes with wheels and tires, and a radio and uh you know, Honestamente, the electronics are excellent in this thing: uh the spectrum 70. Creo que es, Un 40 74 motor spectrum firma esc again really great uh, Electrónica. The radio is fantastic. The slt3 the receiver is excellent, because if you don’t like the slt3, you can always pick up a spectrum, yeah dsmr radio, and then it works great with that. So i personally run this on a dx5c and it’s great to just bind it up and and run with it um, pero sí. The dementor eyes of this thing are: the electronics are pretty good. I give an above average score seven out of ten. I think the design is excellent as well. Seven out of ten, it does have a lot of adjustments. Armor does come from team durango, which was a race company, but in addition to kind of having some race adjustments, you do have the center bar here uh tower to tower brace adds a lot of durability.
Six millimeter drive shafts four millimeter shock: shafts aluminum chassis steel drive train all throughout center differential mod, one gearing it’s just an excellent vehicle. The performance is also fantastic. They get the shock tuning fan, Sabes, es, just really really good out of the box. The spring rate, the shock pistons the shock oils – everything about this is fantastic. The tires are excellent. The backflips are one of my favorite uh rtr tires for an eighth scale, stunt truck so yeah. The full package is just excellent in the notorious v5 performance is outstanding. A little bit slow, Creo, partly due to just kind of how heavy this thing is, but also the electronics you know are not quite as good as a team corelli stuff. It is a little bit harder to do like triple back loops. Sobre esta cosa, you do need you know, kind of a bigger jump, Uh, and so yeah performance to me is a little bit lacking, but the handling is excellent. Suspension is great. Durability is also above average, i’m running at a seven out of ten. This thing does hold up to a lot of abuse, really just haven’t broken much on the vehicle um. I do also have an arma crane, which i broke. A few things i do feel like kind of. Maybe the quality control is a little inconsistent from bash to bash, because some of the plastic on some of the vehicles have held up really really well and then some plastic on some of my other armors, sólo usted sabe, broke pretty much on the first or a Couple of runs so yeah, but overall the durability is, is really good.
Support mains is also excellent. Arm is owned by horizon hobby, easy to get part support easy to get. Sabes, service support from them if you want to call them up or whatever so yeah. This is just a great vehicle. Overall value is also excellent. En 470, i think there’s a ton of value in this thing. The radio is excellent. The electronics are excellent, so yeah you get a lot in the box. Even the body is really really nice. Super thick lexan, you got the roll cage, just nice, Gráficos, stickers, everything tethers, so just a fantastic value as well. So it gets a full score of 43 points, which is an average of 7.2. So a really really high score definitely well above average, one of the best stunt trucks you can get. But for me it still comes in second place, and that leaves us with the winner of the stun truck comparison that’s going to be the techno mt 410. Obviamente, it’s a little bit different than the other stun trucks out there, porque es, the only one that comes as a kit and uh, so the electronics i provide was basically just a standard, arma 4s system, esc and motor just kind of a cheap 35 Kilogramo. Centimeter servo and then i just run it on a dx5c radio, but uh yeah in terms of the parts i’m also running the backflip lps from the outcast for us i’m, just running like a proline body here, um, nothing too fancy or crazy.
Sobre esta cosa, just pretty basic stuff overall. So all in all this cost me about 700 750 Uh, with all the components um. You can obviously spend more or less but uh that’s kind of a standard price. I think for what you’re going to get now. The mt410, why did it win well, es, really due to two main things: design and the performance. Design of this thing obviously is a little bit unfair because it’s, basically a race truck it’s, their race, truckee, the et48.3 and then mounted onto their buggy chassis. The ev48sl chassis also used on the sct 410, so it is again a stunt truck uh. The way i see it is really just pretty much a perfect square as wide as it is long. Buggy, Chasis, truckee, arms tires and wheels. Ahora. The other great thing is that the performance is outstanding because it’s, you know at its heart, a race vehicle has every possible adjustment you could want the parts quality is top notch, definitely a step above the rtr stuff, the aluminum pieces. The shocks are the smoothest by far it’s also a very light vehicle. This thing on 4s can do triple backflips, really that the other uh you know like the arma is not doing so it’s, just a crazy, fast vehicle super light. You don’t need a 6s power plant, even though you know the other ones are running 6s. This thing on 4s is just as fast. Creo, just due to how light it is now.
Obviously there are a ton of adjustments. You can tune this to get exactly how you want and that’s really. The other reason why it, the performance, es un 10. fuera de la caja. I think the tuning is a little bit off i’d, probably rate it like a seven or so. The shocks are fantastic, but the steering isn’t quite there, but with some adjustments you can get like tuned perfectly and running like awesome, i mean so. Performance is definitely best in class. Design is best in class. Durability is also pretty good. I’D rate it about the same as the notorious. I know a lot of people think this is the most durable monster truck out there. I don’t think it is, Creo, it’s really good and above average, but honestly the armor v5s at this point are also really good and very durable vehicles, so durability, Sabio. I give it a 7010 same as the notorious sport maintenance is not going to be. You know that great it’s made by techno, which is not a small company but it’s, not a big company either. So you may or may not be able to get parts at your local hobby shop and will frequently have to buy stuff online. So yeah that’s pretty much it for the stunt truck comparison review, my winner, the techno mt410. Although to be honest with you, if you want an rtr, the notorious 35 is fantastic as well, maybe not quite as fast as even this thing on 4s.
But it is again really durable. It dries really well, you don’t have to put together yourself if you don’t, want to. Por otro lado, if you enjoy building something don’t, mind spending a little bit more money to get higher quality parts, a higher quality vehicle.
