así que, just a quick, disclaimer i’m going to be gearing this video towards rc cars or trucks that use brushless motors and lipo batteries. Chicos, if you want me to make another video just like this one on the less expensive end like the brush brush motors and maybe nickel metal, hydrate batteries, let me know in the comments and if we get enough people i’ll make one for you guys, but i Do just have one favor for you before we get started. If you wouldn’t mind make sure you hit that like button that way, we could tell the youtube algorithm to help out other people, just like you who are trying to get into this hobby all right guys. Now that that’s out of the way i’m going to be categorizing these uh, to make these a little bit easier for you to understand, Uh. Y entonces, if you scroll through this video and scrub through the video i’m gon na put time slots for each different category. Por ahí, you could jump back to it if you get lost all right. So the first thing that you’re going to want to do is choose the right, rc car for you now there’s, so many different rc cars and you could get an rc car that’s made specifically for a certain terrain or for a certain driving style such as like For example, like this limitless as a road car, the main purpose of it is designed for street use.
So personally uh. My best recommendation would be to get something that’s very versatile, so you could drive on the dirt on the road you could go in the snow. You could go and do whatever you want with this car, because you’re just getting into this hobby, Tú no, really know exactly what you want to be doing yet so get something that could do it all. I really like the arma 3s line as a starter car, because all three of them are extremely fast. All three of them can go on the dirt on the road uh. One of them is a trick. Car one of them is a short course truck, and one of them is a buggy, but based on your type of driving style, you know pick out which one’s for you, but you you really can’t, go wrong with any car in that line and again guys. Avísame en los comentarios, if you want me to make another video of maybe like the top five or top 10 Coches, that i would choose for 2021 of all different varieties, all right so moving on now that we got our car picked out or now That we know to what kind of car to look for the next category is going to be getting your battery charger. Now you don’t need a top of the line battery charger, but you definitely don’t want to skimp out and get something. That’S super cheap, um here’s a couple things that i look for when i’m looking for a battery charger one, you know the options of it.
Some battery chargers have single and they can only charge one battery and some battery chargers are duo and they can charge two batteries. I highly recommend grabbing a battery charger that can charge two batteries. It’S gon na save you a ton of time. Before and after you go out with this rc car – and the last thing you want to do is just spend all of your time charging these batteries up that way, you can get out there and rip it for a longer time. The other thing that i look for is how many watts is this battery charger capable of putting out. I would recommend, at a minimum 150 watts now a charger that i would recommend, and i have two of these. I use them for all of my cars and for all my applications is this htrc t240 duo charger so again, guys it’s got two leads for two different batteries: uh it’s 150 watt, and i could put 125 of that those watts to a single side. At a time uh, but typically i’ll, leave it at that 75. 75. 75 split, es, a great charger i’ve had it for about a year now and i’ve had no issues with it whatsoever, so highly recommend it and it’s under 100 Dólares. So another plus all right guys so moving on the the next category is going to be batteries uh. But now is a perfect time if you haven’t already hit that, like button so hard that you might get charged for a battery all right, that was pretty awful.
I admit that maybe i’ll, maybe i’ll cut this one out. I don’t know uh all right, así que, Bien, getting back on track. Batteries are probably the single most important aspect of getting into the rc hobby. These lipo batteries are extremely powerful, but they could also be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing so i’m going to go over a couple. Battery safety tips a little bit of information that you should know about your battery before purchasing one and before getting into the hobby. So the first thing that you want to know about a lipo battery is that they have a certain number of cells. So this is a success car, so that means it’s got six cells of batteries uh. The line that i recommended as a starter car is a 3s line, which means the battery that you want to buy, for it is a three cell battery it’s got three individual cells wrapped up in the battery uh that’s important to know, because you don’t want to Get a battery that’s too strong for that car, because you’ll burn up that the speed controller on it and you don’t want a battery that’s too little it’s going to go, really slow or may not even work at all. So you want to be able to find whatever that car is rated for. You want to go out and get that specific specific battery. So as far as batteries go, i would highly recommend hrb as a quality cost efficient battery.
I have a bunch of different types of batteries, but i’ve had hrb the longest, no issues whatsoever. All of my cells are perfectly balanced still, which shows that it’s, a good quality battery, my recommendation would be grab two batteries. I made the mistake of getting one at a time, and it is you know one battery just never feels like enough. You want to have enough battery life to go out there and feel satisfied by the time you come back in, especially if you’re going to be traveling. 20, 30 minutes to use your car even 10 minutes away when you’re, not when you’re, not home, and then the benefit of having that dual chargers, you could charge them both and storage charge them both at the same time, which brings me to my next point guys: Every time you go out and you use these batteries when you are done, put them on the charger, hit storage mode and put them in storage mode. What that does is it brings each cell in the battery down to about 3.8 volts now that’s going to be the safest voltage for this battery, if it’s too high, it will degrade too fast and if it’s too low, it will degrade too fast. You’Ll ruin your battery. If you do not do this and you have a chance of potentially creating a fire, because if you leave the battery fully charged, what happens? Is the batteries degrade they’ll puff and if they get too big, they’ll pop? And next thing you know you got a fire in your hands.
The next safety tip would be to keep all of your batteries in a battery bag guys. These are not very expensive. You could get about four to six of these for under twenty dollars or around twenty dollars, so i would highly recommend it: there’s no excuse to not keep your lipos in this bag, they’re fire proof and they’re going to do their job. If something were to happen to that battery, so at a bare minimum get these bags all right guys. así que, moving on to the last category and that’s going to be our tools i’m going to keep this category pretty quick because it’s pretty self explanatory, if you have any questions again, let me know in the comments reach out to me on instagram. So the first thing is to get a good set of allen wrenches, so i use mip and to have a quality set of wrenches means the world. These are kind of expensive. You could get cheaper brands, but i’ve had no problems with these and you’re going to strip away less screws, and nobody wants that problem because in the future, when you go to use those uh screws again, you’re gon na have to grab a dremel or something to Be able to get that screw out the next thing i would get drivers again. These are mip as well, and you can put these in your drill. It just makes things a lot quicker, especially for the longer screws.
The next thing that i would recommend grabbing would be a soldering iron it’s, a great skill to learn, and i actually made a video on how to solder on new different new battery connectors, así que ve a comprobarlo. It’Ll be either here or here. The next thing that you should have on you is blue loctite. Some people run red red is annoying to get off. You have to pay heat to it every time, but if you clean your your surface with alcohol before you use the loctite, you should never have a problem. Uh, the loctite’s going to be good for and like the most common thing that you’re going to be using this loctite for would be your pinion gear. So if you want to change, pinions go a little bit faster, go a little bit slower. This is what you’re going to be using. The last thing that i recommend grabbing would be a couple different variations of pliers, Muy bien, so that’s a wrap, if you guys have any questions at all reach out to me. I’Ve no problem answering any questions, especially to someone that’s new and trying to get into the hobby, because when i first started, i had a ton of questions so guys.
