My name is jeffrey, and this is my review of rev up rc grand prix for the nintendo switch rev up rc grand prix retails for the odd price of 13.26. There is a demo available on nintendo switch if you want to try out the game before purchasing. Does rev up rc grand prix boost off the starting line with great rc racing gameplay, or is this one game that simply comes dead? Last let’s jump into my review to find out before we begin. Gracias. So much rev up rc grand prix is an arcade racing experience all about the thrill of racing rc cars around various off road and on track stages with a plethora of party modes as well. Rc rev up grand prix features, 120 varieties of rc vehicles for you to race around to your heart’s content, featuring single player, tournaments races and party modes, as well as some robust local. Only multiplayer options will this mini racing experience provide any long term appeal or fun. The answer is sort of so on the surface. Rev up rc grand prix doesn’t give off the greatest first impression, mostly coming across as a mobile title, with less than stellar graphics. Strangely, the game has a mix of anime art and voxel characters in the actual races.
Es, a very interesting mix of art and graphical styles, and will probably be the first thing you will notice when jumping from the main menu into the actual races. Gameplay here features a nice set of both single player and local multiplayer options. Desafortunadamente, i didn’t have a chance to try out any of the modes in multiplayer, so just know. I am coming at this review from the angle of purely playing solo. That being said, i certainly have had a surprising amount of fun here, but that comes with some caveats that i will speak on later from the main menu. You are greeted with single player, multiplayer, a vehicle customizer a course creator and a shop since my time was spent a single player. I focused on the tournament, Razas, free races and trying out the party modes with ai controlled opponents. Sorprendentemente, there are a ton of creative vehicles featured in this game from buggies to rally cars to bikes, to monster trucks. Each one is of course, an rc car, so they look appropriately cartoony and simplistic. I do want to note up front that all the vehicles in this game control the same and instead of featuring stat changes, only feature cosmetic changes, so you can use whatever vehicle you want, instead of tinkering around with stats and changes to control, speed acceleration and the Like it makes for a very simple game to be sure, and while it works just fine, it does seem strange that a rally car controls the same as a monster truck.
But this is probably due to the fact that they are are all rc cars controlled by your chosen avatar, who stands in a podium during the race with the remote control in hand, free races are as they sound. You choose erase course from some default ones or ones that you create in a track editor and they simply race and you control against the computer opponents. They honestly don’t pose much of a challenge even on the harder difficulty tournaments feature, the same stages but contain four tracks, and you get points depending on how well you place similar to most other games like this. In the same milk, the tournament modes feel lifeless and barren only mixing up the layout of the track time of day and surface type, but otherwise take place in the same lackluster environment. You can also make your own tournaments from your created tracks. This mode was highly repetitive and after racing on one off road tournament and one on road course. I felt i have seen the majority of the game, but i kept on pressing on it to try out the other stages themselves, depending on how you do in the races as well as daily logins. You get points or coins. Rather, that can be used in a shop to buy all sorts of new vehicles to use to be fair to the game. There is quite an assortment of purchasable cars, but again they all contain the same, basically the same stats and meaning that they all control the same so you’re just looking to change it up cosmetically and different type of vehicle.
I found it easy to amass a collection of new vehicles to choose from rather quickly. Aside from the main racing, i then tried out each of the party game modes with my favorites being tank fire labyrinth and gem taxi. There are nine party modes in total and in all honesty, while a few of them were fun, they just didn’t have any lasting appeal for a solo player like myself, they were simply shallow diversions from the lackluster offerings for stages and tournaments to race. In i can’t help but wonder why this game didn’t, take inspiration from kart, racers and add power, ups or items, or even a wide array of racing environments. That would have gone a long way to make this game a lot more enticing and exciting. But in reality i grew bored with the game in around a couple hours or so most of this comes down to the sheer simplicity of the racing. You can accelerate brake drift like most other similar games, and you can also slip dream or draft behind opponents to gain extra speed. Para ser justos, the racing actually feels quite good and controls well, but after seeing a majority of the content so quickly, i just became bored due to the lackluster design and repetitive gameplay nature it’s, clear. This game was developed with local multiplayer in mind, so keep that in thought. In your purchasing decisions, you do have a vehicle customizer as well, which was a nice addition and allows you to change up body styles, spoilers, rims and paint it’s quite surface level, but provide an extra layer of depth.
Even if shallow presentation, wise the game, is a mixed bag, it’s a sterile and clean looking game, but doesn’t really do anything to stand out. It just feels so lifeless and the major lack of stage and environment diversity hinders the game overall, es, colorful and cartoony. Yet highly derivative of most other simple mobile racing games, the music likewise tries to be edgy with repetitive rock tracks and while some of them work, Bien, they mostly became grading and repetitive. The rc cars make a whizzing noise, as you would expect again nothing noteworthy here. The game does perform okay most times, but there are some frame rate issues and slow down on a few of the tracks. Aside from that, the game runs just fine, with no major issues or crashes or glitches, with the exception of some stages with the cars bouncing. A little bit on the tracks, it was a strange yet mostly innocuous anomaly for a basic racing game. Overall rev up rc grand prix is a slightly above average game coming in at the odd regular price of 13.26 cents. I don’t know how much i can recommend this game for pure solo players, because the content offerings such as free races, tournaments party modes and customization sections, while various and diverse end up feeling, stale and repetitive for pure solo players, there is some fun to be had For a couple of hours to be sure, because the cars do control well most of the time, but i can really only recommend a purchase for players looking to enjoy a local multiplayer.
