Subaru remote start system will not start. How to enable or to disable service mode.
In this video, I would like to show you how to get your vehicle out of service mode or how to put it in a service mode. This would work on Subaru any Subaru that has OAM remote starters. So when I got this car, where a body shop, I rebuilt the car and then I try to start the car, and this is what happens so here’s. What happens I’m gon na hit the remote start button two times and that should start the car. But first you want to make sure the car is locked, so I’m gon na I’m gon na lock it so the car is locked and then I’m gon na hit the remote Start button twice two times you can see the car honk and absolutely nothing happened. So I’m gon na try this again there’s a lot of people in forums. Don’T know what happened after service and then I hit the start button twice. I get two honks and the car doesn’t start. So I’ll show you what the fix would be. Básicamente, the previous owner or service department or dealership, put this vehicle in service mode. They didn’t want the vehicle to start when they were inspecting it or working on it. If you have the same issue with your car and you think, maybe something needs to be reprogrammed. You don’t have to worry about I’ll, show you how to get the vehicle out of service mode or how to put it back into a service mode.
If you were gon na work on the vehicle, so all you have to do. You’Re gon na take your key turn ignition on press and hold the brake pedal and then every time you’re gon na have to hit start button three times. Every time you press the button, it’s gon na it’s gon na it’s gon na make a chime in honk one two three then a second later another honk, so that just put the vehicle service mode. Así que ahora mismo, I’m gon na go outside and then went straight for you that the vehicle will start because at first I thought myself that the vehicle was something was wrong with the remote started or a hood pins, bitch, o algo así. But watch this. I locked the car hit them and now I’m gon na hit the remote start button twice one two I got a honk there you go. The car started right up: okay and I’m gon na show you how to put the vehicle back into a service mode. So the remote starter will not work we’re gon na I’m gon na turn the car off and get back inside get back inside a car. Bien, it’s the same procedure put your key in ignition turn. It on hit the brake pedal and hold the brake pedal and hit it three times. Every time. You’Re gon na hit start button, it’s gon na honk one two, three a second later it gave you three beeps.
It tells you the vehicle in service mode. So right now the remote starter will not work its deactivated and I could safely work on the car without worrying abundance tarting on its own. Sometimes a mechanic puts the keys in his pocket or something and then you know he could press the button his in his pocket and start the car. But now it won’t start I’ll demonstrate again I’m getting outside and I’m gon na lock the car three times until I hear the honk okay, now I’m gon na hit the start button. Two times see, I got two honks and not that happened. The car doesn’t start that tells us the vehicles in service mode to get it out. Estoy. Gon na repeat the process. Again you get inside a car, put the key into ignition. You turn it on, but don’t start the car and then we hold obviously the brake pedal, and then you hit the remote start button three times and that’s gon na get it out of the service mode.

I have a question in regards to Subaru remote start…
I asked myself this question when I purchased my 2019 Subaru Forester
See I wanted a remote starter but they said it was like $349 to install it.. so I decided not to..
But then they offer you a package I believe it was with starlink and one was able to purchase I think a monthly or annual subscription for various things
and one of those options was remote start…
this got me thinking is remote start already pre installed… do I just need the remote fob
mine wont even beep in my 2020
I tried everything, ill bring it back
Gracias! I got service and they forgot to put it out of service mode. I feel like a mechanic now… 😆
How do I adjust the remote start's run time? Mine used to run for 15 minutes but after a dead battery it only runs for 3 Minutos.
Video starts at 1:50 Min
Gracias! Super easy fix to something that's been a nuisance for over a month. 🙂
Hi I'm Edwin I'm have interested for buyer oem factory remote start for 2009 subaru forester is send process
Most likely it’s an Analog remote starter…
Gracias! Mi 2011 Outback was doing the same thing and taking it out of service mode fixed this issue!
This does not work on my Subaru Legacy 2012 , any other advise ?
En 1:49 the key looks black, pero en 1:52 the key looks grey, how come
Thanks George! Our 2018 Subaru Outback just returned from the body shop and was apparently left in service mode. We have the keyless fob for our car but I assume that the same procedure will work for our car?
Do you have any video on how to eliminate the immobilizer on Mazda Miata 2004. Or reprogram it. It won’t read my keys
Making it function would have been a good idea.
My key fob wont beep. I had to manually use the key to get into crosstrek. Is that normal with a dead battery.
can u tell me what else it could b if the car keeps acting like it is in service mode (honking at me twice instead of starting). i am still having the same issue with my car not starting after it sits for more than 24 Horas. cualquier idea, Por favor?
thank you SO much for posting this. my car has been doing this for months and my dealership has not been able to determine the issue.
And I believe you have to leave the door open.
How do you do this with push button start. Tengo un 2015 Outback Limited with no key.
Hey I'm having this issue. I took my vehicle out of service mode but it still doesn't start the electronics turn on for a second then everything turns back off. Any help pleae
Hello can you start the engine with the doors open? Quiero mi 2018 forester to warm up while i load stuff in car but it turns off whe doors open. Gracias
Hola,
i lost one of my key fob for 2013 honda accord, i need to find it. i think it is lost inside the house somewhere. this is PKE key, meaning it works with proximity. So I am thinking if i can find some way to generate the frequency which honda car is generating when i go near it, then the key fob will respond with a frequency, which i need to catch and make a beep sound… i am thinking out loud. any electronics guy here???
Thanks.. Bro 😘😘😘
