WLTOYS 144001 Vs 124019 | Which is Best?

So today we are going to be comparing the one two four zero one: nine against the one: Cuatro: Cuatro: Cero: cero uno, both extremely popular wltoys models. Now the one four four zero zero one came out last year and the one two four zero one nine came out about a month ago, Ahora, both extremely good models and today we’re going to try and cover uh some of the basics and some of the things That really stand out for me and we’re going to try and work out which one is going to be the best option for you now. I think one of the main differences that really does stand out is the longer wheel base on the one two four zero. One nine: i believe it is about 45 Milímetros, longer uh, compared to the one four four zero zero one. Ahora, along with the extra wheelbase, there is something else that does stand out as well as soon as you open the box, you will be greeted with a bigger battery now, the one four four: zero zero one uh comes with a fifteen hundred milliamp two s lipo And i have actually got it here, as you can see now the one two four zero one: nine comes with a upgraded and bigger battery it’s, Un 2200 miliamperios, and that is also a 2s lipo. Como pueden ver, there is definitely a size difference, and this does have a little bit more capacity.

So apart from the batteries, what else is different as soon as you open the box? Bien, para ser honesto, nothing, it uses exactly the same transmitter as the one. Four: Cuatro: zero zero one uh. It will include exactly the same usb charger, toolkit and manual there’s. Pretty much. No other changes there when you actually take it out of the box. The most notable things are, the bigger battery and obviously it’s, using exactly the same transmitter. Now i do have the original transmitter here for anybody that wants to see what it looks like and, Como dije, both of these models do use exactly the same transmitter now it’s, not a bad piece of kit. Some people complain about range, para ser honesto, i’ve. Never really had an issue with it and it does get the job done perfectly fine. Now there have been some other changes as well, but they are under the body shell. So we are going to take the body shell off in a moment and we’re going to have a look under the one two four zero one: nine and see how much different it is to the one four four: Cero: cero uno. Ahora, if you have never purchased one of these vehicles before there’s a few things, you should really do on them before you even take them out for a run. Now i have covered the one four four zero zero one in quite a bit of detail on my channel.

I did a free, essential things to do on it before you actually take it out. I’Ve recently did exactly the same video for the one two four zero one, Nueve, and i also did three recommended things you should do on this one and this one. So i will leave links in the description below for you to check those out because they definitely need a few little things doing to them before you even take them out for their first run. Now you can skip this if you want, but if you want to preserve the life of all the components on your model, it’s definitely worth checking those videos out. Bien, so i have got the body shells off we’re, going to take a quick look and see what has changed on the one two, four zero one: nine compared to the one four four: zero zero one now, like i mentioned earlier, the one thing that really stands Out on the one two four zero one: nine is that extended wheel base. If i put both of them side by side, you can see that that four and a half centimeter extended wheelbase is definitely noticeable, and that is definitely going to help when it comes to uh stability. When you are operating this model now, i do believe they have upgraded the diffs on the one two, four zero one, nine i do believe it’s exactly the same materials. They have used, es, not very good metal, es, quite cheap quality metal.

They use on the diff gears, but i believe they have made a couple of changes. Potentially, they have put some shims in there to take out some of the play in the diff itself, and that is something the one four four zero zero one actually used to suffer with was excess play which did actually cause the diffs to wear out prematurely. Ahora, one of the common issues with the one four four zero zero one was underfield or overfilled shocks. Now this is an issue they have addressed completely on the one two four zero one: nine uh. When i did the three essential things to do on the one two, four zero one, nine uh you would have seen you may have potentially seen that video. You would have seen that all four shocks did actually have uh. You know the the oil level in the shocks themselves were pretty much spot on now. That was an issue with the one four four zero zero one and my one actually came with shocks that were too full up. There was too much oil in there, which was stopping the spring from compressing fully, and that was something i had to fix now. Another thing you really notice is the fact that the esc is mounted on the top deck on this on the one four four: zero zero one and it’s actually mounted in the chassis itself on the one two four zero one, Nueve – and that is due to the Extra the extra wheel base you do get a little bit more space to fit the components in, whereas on the one four four zero zero one.

It is a little bit of a tight fit and the only place they could really put. The esc was on the top deck. Ahora, taking a look at the motor, then so they’re, both running a 550 Tamaño, motor cepillado. Now this thing is more than enough uh to get these things going about 30 millas por hora, Es decir. What i achieved on the one four four: zero zero one when i took it out for a test run, i did achieve about 30 millas por hora, which isn’t shabby at all, considering uh the size and weight of these vehicles that isn’t too shabby now a lot Of people do like to do brushless conversions on these i’m, one of those people. I did exactly that on the one four four zero zero one i did convert it to brushless. I have also done videos on that which are also on my channel i’m, going to leave links to all of these videos on the description below it’s. A very common thing and a lot of people do do brushes conversions, Hay, a lot of facebook groups out there and there’s a lot of people on youtube as well that do like to convert these to brushless and are very, very capable now. A lot of people do see a hundred miles per hour plus on these, but obviously there’s a lot of modding involved to get them up to that sort of speed. Ahora, if you’re one of those people and you potentially want to convert to brushless, obviously the one four four zero zero one – was a king for a very long time, but now the one two four zero one nine is here.

I think this actually takes the top spot now you may be wondering why, because i do have a lot of love for the one four four zero zero one. I think the main reason is the wheelbase that extra wheelbase does give you a lot more potential. Es. Definitely going to help when you’re fitting your brushless components in there you’re not going to have too much trouble one of the issues on the one four four zero zero one was trying to fit all the components uh on the chassis itself. It was a little bit of a nightmare having that extra space to put all your components in is definitely gon na help when it comes to doing a brushless conversion on this model, now there’s, potentially a few things, i’ve missed a few changes. I could have potentially missed on this if i have feel free to leave a comment down below and let anyone who watches this video know any of the other changes that have actually been made to the one two, four zero one: Nueve, the one. Four: Cuatro: Cero: zero one has been documented, quite a bit there’s thousands of videos out there. So i do think this has been covered in quite a lot of detail, but i think uh everybody who is a recent owner of one of these. We are all still learning what has been changed, how to make this thing better, so there’s definitely going to be a lot of information coming up in the coming weeks.

Now i think the question you’re all probably asking is which one would i actually go for which one would i recommend? I think the easy answer to that question is both of them now. Sí, i know that’s, probably not what you want to hear, because you’ve probably come to this video to work out which one to actually get now. They are both extremely good at different things. The one four four zero zero one will always remain to be a very good speed, run machine but it’s also very good at being a bashing machine as well. Obviamente, it’s got the shorter wheelbase it’s very good for doing stunts and jumps and you’ll have a lot of fun with the one four four zero zero one with a one, Dos, Cuatro: cero uno: Nueve. I do think this is going to be the better option. If you are looking to do, speed runs or brush this conversion, all that sort of stuff, but not only that, i think the extra wheelbase is definitely going to help. If you do decide, you want to actually take this out on a track. I really do think this is going to actually work in your favor, but they are both really really good models. The only thing is, i think i would definitely recommend the one two four zero one: nine over the one, four four zero zero one, mainly because they have addressed a few of the issues that this actually had when it first came out.

So i think that this is the new updated model and i would definitely go for this over the one four four: zero zero one. Now this one does actually cost a little bit more to the one four four: Cero: cero uno. If it comes to cost, then go for the one four four: Cero: cero uno. You will not be disappointed, es, a very capable all round machine. If money is not so much an issue or you can afford to spend a little bit more go for the one.
