They may or may not be um to coincide with the release of the drag slash. It might just be a coincidence. I’Ve updated the motor and esc i’ve got a new body and in today’s video we’re going to take it out, give it a few runs on my little no prep drag strip we’re going to see how much improvement i’ve made over the stock times and now that We know how fast the drag slash is. We’Ll see how fast my one is compared to that, because this cost me a little bit less than a drag. Slash will cost you to buy and run straight out of the box. So this started life as a stock team associated dr 10. I love the stock body, a lot of people don’t like how wide they sit. I just think it looks quite nice, yeah it’s not exactly scale, but it looks good, but i think i prefer the c10, even though i did mess up a little bit i’m painting it. So these come stuck out the box of a reedy kv system. I learned a lot from the last video, mainly from people commenting so massive thanks. If you commented to give me some tips on that on no prep drag really appreciate it. Now a couple of things that came out of that warming up your tyres use an old bit of carpet rather than using the road which i’ve done i’ve bought myself a a door mat to warm them up on.
So the other thing was gyros are banned. I’Ve got this still set to it’s on the lowest or the second to lowest. Setting doesn’t really give it much advantage with that gyro i mean most of the time the front wheels are just skipping along off the ground anyway, but 2s. Only so i was running it on this 5 000 milliamp hour, 60 to 120c lipo, there’s, bigger power, more powerful lipos out there. This is the most powerful 2s i own 3s runs. I just used this 100c 1500 milliamp hour again, more powerful ones about so other than the body. The only other thing i’ve changed is the motor and esc, probably the main change to get the speeds we were getting today. Sidewinder 4 from castle, not the most ideal esc and not enough settings on it. Really you need some nice turbo boost settings to give it that burst of acceleration when you’re halfway down the 132 feet, it’s a censored motor but it’s, not a censored esc as well. So not as smooth but a 7 700 kv castle motor in there. Giving this thing crazy amounts of rpm, especially on 3s anyway stock runs, gave me just over four seconds on 2s and mid three seconds on 3s. I believe i’ll stick up on screen now, so i can’t quite remember and props to scale builders guild. He actually posted a time for the drag, slash which i believe is a 3.1 seconds just over 1g.
That was with tsm off so again fair play done that without any um stability, like i mentioned, i’ve got stability on this, but i don’t think it would affect the times too much. Let’S see if this thing can put some respectable times in. We are going for sub three seconds to make it worthwhile before we do that, though, if you want to know why this rival mt10 has been in the background over the last few videos, this is for a giveaway at 50 000 subscribers. I guess the first thing we need to do is: do a speed run on this bad boy. Listen to how quiet is. I said this last time i love it. I mean that castle system is nice. I mean they they’re renowned, sometimes having a bit of a wine, but i like it on this. Listen very electric sounds awesome right anyway, speed run yeah. That was me measuring out the quarter mile. So on 2s on the stock system, i got 25 on 3s. We got 40. so only running 2s, but i reckon we’re going to get close to that 40 mile, an hour or more. I reckon with this castle system let’s go. I hope the body stays on.
It’S only got magnets. Look at it. It’S, a machine mine, the cone mine, the cane castle system, is awesome. Yeah i reckon we’re going to be close to or over the 3s speed on stock, nice and straight as well. Oh, it looks so good. I messed up the paint a little bit, but all right come on in come on oh 49, mile an hour so on 2s 49 mile an hour that castle set up the extra kv on that motor doing its job nice. I am happy with 49 mile an hour anyway. You guys didn’t come here to see top speed. Did you come see, drag racer now um using top tip to warm the tires up right first pass. That was a nice. I don’t want to say a nice solid pass. It was a solid pass, but oh 2.9 seconds at 47 mile, an hour 1.1 g, 2.9, so they’ve already beaten. The 3s run Music on the stock, gearing let’s go again. Here we go nice now i haven’t gone full, no prep! Oh, this is so smooth lovely. I love it. I love it. I haven’t gone full prep because i’ve got the gyro set to it’s uh level, two quite a low setting. Oh 2.9, we shaved .05. A second off 1.06 g, i think we can get a launch. We can get a better launch. I think let’s get a 2.8 whoa whoa whoa. That was definitely a better launch but that’s where the skill is in this guys.
You got ta get that you got ta, get that launch it’s, that balance between a fast launch, but not out of control. Just try again, Music you’re, slower three seconds: Music good launch but slowing down now so with minimal setup, though i think in the twos is a respectable Music time. The smallest thing in the road and it hits it so is a slight problem with a magnetic body. Music but let’s not keep doing that. I don’t want to damage it. I am really happy, though, in the twos of this definitely more to come from it. We need to set that thing. I think it needs a different esc. We need to set it up a bit more, maybe uh set up, so it tracks a little bit straighter. If you nail the throttle or turbo boost when we change it, yes see, i think we can uh reduce that time a little bit more, but i am happy with the twos. Should we see what it does on 3s? Definitely can’t keep the body on on this. Not on three um, i don’t even know whether, with the body off it’s going to uh, perform no it’s popping weirdly straight away, but we’ll give it go anyway. 3S. This motor’s, not rated for 3s, like he’s, got a wheelie bar on it, that’s all i’m going to say. Oh, i don’t think i’m gon na get more than that. I don’t want to kill it.
It’S a good drag car, yeah 55 yeah it’s definitely got loads. More in it, i just can’t push it 3s drag. Why not probably won’t get enough traction yeah there you go. 3.3 is not all about power not able to get into the twos.
