The remote is good but the lag it introduces is quite annoying. Also when setting up with SmartThings, Hue and Google Home it takes significantly more time process any changes comparing to the other smart platforms.
I found that Hue is usually the quickest to set up and also to turn devices on and off (makes sense since it deals mainly with lights and process most of the messages locally first), followed by Google Home and SmartThings. All of them have their own annoyances but Harmony is the most sluggish and most annoying to deal with.
Still, it's the best smart remote out there, if not the only one. It's a shame though, competition would force them to improve their infrastructure and user experience.

Why would I pay $350 for Elite that appears to do the same thing as the phone app? This isn't sarcastic but curious. It sounds like I could just buy a hub and use the phone app? I have Spectrum TV.
Actually you can have multiple hubs work with Google Home. You just have to use more than one gmail account. Invite your other gmails as a home member and then add one hub on each Gmail account. You only need the one harmony account. It can be linked to multiple logins on Google home.

it was more like you are getting money to make this promotional video i have elite and its getting dust its piece of junk,garbage,its slow laggy complicated for average guy to program it for me it was not complicated as i am tech savvy but its so slow laggy that i prefer original remotes guys dont buy this pricey piece of junk youll regret it and its black and white touch screen its not worth 50 dollars ohh and it has pathetic battery will discharge and become dead in two days even if you not use it so after use it always have to be in charging unit man two days i haven seen anything which get discharge in two days if you not use it

I want either the harmony elite or harmony ultimate hub, but I don't know what the difference is, but seeing this video I might save that extra cash for the elite. I watch a lot of your videos these days to determen what smart home stuff I wane save up for and what to leave out. I do go for google home voice assistant and not alexa since I live in the Netherlands and alexa is not fully supported in my country. Going with the SevenHugs remote, just seems more elegant and easier to set up.
Im curious how harmony elite works with lg magic remote. I would like to keep the cursor moving feature on the magic remote. Still it would be nice to get rid of a few remotes 😀

Coming from a 10 year old Harmony one to the Harmony Elite would be more intimidating that what it turned out to be. I am just getting started and love it.
Hummm. I could make the Elite work, but setting it up with painful. One problem was that my hub didn't initially find the remote and this took several resets. I also find that my family frequently toggles remote values. And this causes confusion for non-technicals. All the apps are too complicated for most folks. So the technology has a long way to go. Two of five stars.
I went through the same thing with my wife, even when the 1st iPhone came out, she said, I will never use something like that, now I can't get off it, she loves voice activated , Lumières, tv on, tv off, we have ours setup to echo dots and spots, she loves it now, we even have cameras that she uses, she may even keep tabs on me with the cameras, this is when the creator becomes the created, she is taking over

Salut, can you advise if this or anything else is available to control my Mums TV remote at distance (200 miles de distance) ideally I want to replicate her LG remote control on my Samsung S9+ and select/play programs for her as she gets confused. I cannot believe I can't fimd something to what I am sure is a common problem

S'il vous plaît, just do not buy this remote, it's crap and works horribly with Alexa or Google (yes I tried both). Favorite buttons will just disappear on your every other day with no reason or warning. Save yourself much heartache, S'il vous plaît.
Obviously the IR blaster has to be insight of the devices being controlled, but does the Hub have to be insight of the remote? or can the hub be in a different room then the hub and IR blaster?

The RF 890 was Harmony's last really good rf based remote. They removed too much from the Elite and raised the price quite a bit. I'll hold on to my 890 until it dies.
What's the difference between the Harmony Elite and the Harmony 950?
I bought the Harmony 665, and yes it does turn on most of my gear. BUT It's doesn't work on anything with RF meaning FireStick or Fire TV. Also I noticed that Tivo remote has many functions that I use that the Harmony can't handle. Also my 2018 LG smart TV has to many functions the 665 cannot do, and my Nakamichi sound bar included. So this remote just adds yet another remote in the lineup to just do simple tasks like turn on certain gear and very basic functions then I still need the other remotes to fully operate what I need. So It's in the drawer not being used.

is fire TV cube the best voice control device for someone who is disabled? Can harmony + alexa actually control a DVR menu or only change channels / launch apps? can it control the apps like a cube?
you dont need a harmony hub anymore you can just use the echo cube from amazon
i loved mine until a update bricked it and harmony washed their hands of sorting it out

Hi Matt, sorry to jump on the thread but I want to put my media stuff under the stairs and be able to watch everything in lounge and control everything from there, do I need a IR blaster in the lounge or will the harmony remote be able to control the TV via IR and I just put the hub under the stairs? Its about 20ft about where all the media devices are. I have the elite and 2 IR blasters.

I bought the logitech harmony 650 remote a few years back now and it was the best decision I made cause I've managed to get rid of 8-10 different remotes at once which is a God send, the pain only annoyance was it took AA batteries instead being rechargeable which meant the remote sucked batteries like anything. So just yesterday I upgraded to the Logitech Harmony Elite which is $480 here in Australia but I managed to get it for $450 and the setup was so quick and I just hit a button and it transferred all the setting from the 650 remote to the elite now that's brilliant. Logitech are a life saver as far as I'm concerned. No more dicking around with codes or trying to work out what the code is with other Universal Remotes. Just plug your remote into a computer type the product name and model number and bam your done. I even had Foxtel pay tv running threw the logitech 650 aswell. So Happy with logitech 10 out (out) 10 even the designs of the remotes are nice aswell.
I had redeye remote but due to them being a small company went down, highly customisable, was very user friendly and listened a lot to their customers with frequent updates, I loved it, and it charged an iPhone.
Harmony in comparison is, excuse my bluntness total shite, I needed a replacement for redeye, had faith in Logitech having had products but harmony is a piece of shit. Full stop, little else available so good ploy there logi. Rant plus
Had a Harmony Ultimate, then updated to a 950 Distance, which is the Elite. The hub I'd been using with the Ultimate worked perfectly with the Elite, just by using the 'Upgrade" tool in the Harmony desktop software to integrate it. IR blasters still work as they always have, Trop.

OK I'm nearly sold. I'm already running lights with the google hub and smart things wall switches. I'm already turning on/off the TV using voice commands using google hub due to the Samsung Anynet feature. But I still need to use the remote of the TV to change channels or turn down the volume when watching aired television. Will this remote/hub respond to a voice command like "OK Google change to channel 10" or "OK Google Set Volume on TV to 20" or "OK Google change to input HDMI2". Si ce n’est pas le cas, I can't condone the extra expense. Please say yes so I can bring the future to me.

Can you use the Elite to control your smart lights through Google Home? The brand of lights I use are not specifically supported by Logitech on a standalone basis.
