Maverick flux MT HD Universal Drive Shaft installation Vidéo
I do have two um universal drive shafts for the front, and this is the part number for it. You guys can see that part number is one five, Zéro, two three one all right, euh .nous allons, say i’ll be doing both of these. I might just do one on camera, just so that this was not a long video um. I do have the rears um hd, uh cups coming in, but it’s not here yet so i’m. Just gon na do the fronts for now all right, so let’s go ahead, stay tuned and go ahead, Je suis, taking one of them off the table and get everyone ready to put the drive shafts in i’m gon na take the body off. Juste vous savez: it’s like an extra room to work all right, D'accord, so let’s get the front wheels off, so we can get started guys. Yeah i’ve had pretty good luck with um these mavericks. The only thing i did was, i snapped the rear wing. The first time i was too cold, it was like it was, Je pense, Comme 27 Degrés, it was just way too cold around these trucks. Um and i broke the rare cup drive cup other than that it’s been fine ever since so got the wheels off. So you got ta, take pop the hexes off and um probably take off one of the um just number knuckles, and you probably slide it out, and you know pop everything out so go ahead and get that going see what it looks like because my first time Really doing work to that extent on this truck so we’re both going to learn together, guys we’re going to learn together.
Let me see what size the top trying to find the correct size guys all right, so it looks like a 3.0 3.0 that goes in all right, D'accord, so we go ahead and pop the hex off and now there’s a trick that i was told by My subscribers that have these cars, those overseas – is put these bigger, washers behind um the hex replace the ones that come with them, these bigger ones. I did a building before um trying to know which one it was, but i do have uh some here, so it was okay. So i went to the hardware store and i picked up some of these. As i see that picked up some of these – and i put two of them behind the the drive behind the hex behind here so it’s like it’s, a lot wider, so it doesn’t cause the um axles to bend. You know roll over all right, so let’s go Music, one of ahead guys out so just to note the um. It is all the way flush against the the upper arm. ainsi, even if you did take it all the way out, you don’t have to worry about trying to realign it. It just goes all the way against the arm flush so i’m, just going to loosen them both up at this point, then you guys can see what i’m doing so you pop the hex off and you have the pin. Then you have those two washers that i put and that will help you not bend or snap those on the axle ends over there all right, all right so loosen those two up, and it comes away from it like that, and then you slide the stock one Out stop one slit right on out all right and then i’m gon na replace it with the hd all right pop one out.
Um don’t get confused up, but do i see any uh? I can’t really tell the difference: c'est, probably just the material it doesn’t. Look any any beefy or anything i don’t think it might just be. The material is made out of all right so i’m working on the xd, and i decided. Let me measure away the the two universal drive shafts to see if there’s any difference in weight. I got to see the scale properly all right. This one here is the old one that is 19 Grammes, and this one is the new one: c'est 20 grams let’s, do it again: C'est 19 C'est, the old one and the new one’s 20. euh .e uh, Pas sûr, because this one’s used and some materials already stripped away. But that’s what it’s, showing guys hd is going in all guys. These are fun little trucks, man for the price, ils sont, assez cool. I mean there’s a lot of options out there. As far as you know, cars within this price range, but you can’t get wrong something different, something different to run. It definitely is something different for me to run beyonce i mean i had hpi and stuff back in the day, but not recently, and i am pretty impressed with this with this one guys. I i clearly missed it. It came out of the cup i wasn’t paying attention there. We go now it’s backing yeah, so pay attention. When you put the Music drive shaft in there, make sure it doesn’t come out of there, Étrangères, donc c’est, really not uh, donc c’est, really not that hard to replace the stock one if you break it.
c'est, just like i said just matter of taking the wheel off, then you take the hex off pin and then these two washers, so basically in reverse, you put the two washers back in. Let me show you guys on this side, so you take these two screws out and then it falls out and you pull the shafts out put a new one in tighten them down all the way flush. And then you put the two washers in first right, see the washers go on there and then you put the pin for the hex i like to put it in so it sits horizontal, so it doesn’t fall and then you slide your hex back on and that’s. It guys you’re pretty much done that’s it for that one side: we’re installing the hd universal drive, shaft so i’m, going to go. Do the same thing for the second side i’m going to pop. So i can show you guys what i’m doing all right so i’m, going to pop the drive shaft off, i mean uh, the hub packs, all right yeah, and then you take it off like that. All right and the pin 10 slides out just like that. Put it on the side, i’ll keep everything organized like i always said in case. You forget where it goes, and then the two washers replace the old the stock washers with these they’re a lot bigger, so it covers more. It doesn’t allow the axle ends to um to bend and then weak points on it.
So it’s a lot more sturdier, even though i’m putting the hds i’m still going to keep those because hey you always use more strength on these guys. And then you just use these it’s a 0.3, and then you just put it into the pillow ball end and just put tighten loosen all the way out, get a better angle, guys i’m gon na do a little top little Music. All right so got it out. Let’S see it posted a new one and then reverse the process, a few screws and then you’re back together, ready to go um all right. So you got both axles in and again do the two washers and then the hub, Tu sais, put it vertical, um horizontal. So it doesn’t fall out slide it on that.
