We are almost there guys, le châssis, le corps, the body’s almost done so you’re not going to see the body until the run video, but the main chassis. The heart of the build is done. I’Ve got a few more observations, a few more tinkering bits, so to speak that i ran into and not all redcat’s fault. We will start with the hobby wing, easy run. Motor esc excellent, excellent little install speed control very small nice fan on it even comes with an extra fan, but here is where i ran into an issue. There is an odd little nub on the end of the output shaft now redcat includes a very stout pinion gear, which, if you put it on this way, it won’t sit flush on top of the spur gear, Et, if you do it, this way where it does Sit flush, c'est, gon na barely have enough shaft to hold on to so. Heureusement, this is a 17 Dent 32 pitch gear and i happen to have a traxxas one sitting around, so i swapped them out. It sits perfect now on the spur extra shaft sticking out perfect it’s, just not as thick in the ass as the red cat is so that allowed it to fit in there perfectly so now, in the part two, we discussed the drive shaft angles. Well now the trucks together let’s see if we can get in there now that’s the best i could do with the links which it’s a lot better.
À mon avis,, now than it was the fronts, it took a little bit of tinkering with the front, but the front angle came out pretty good. Also so the rear i’ve got the bottom links all the way to the back and the top links all the way to the front or no bottom is all the way to the front, because you can see here there’s the mounting holes uh, i can’t get in There can i right there, so these are the three mounting positions: red cat wants it in the middle, so this is all the way forward and the top ones are all the way to the back to swing the rear differential into a straighter angle, pas parfait. Now the rears or the fronts i did a similar thing to the bottoms are all the way to the back, but i had to leave the front link in oh that’s right. You can’t see it because it’s in the way i had to leave the front link in its position, because once i tested it full articulation that drive shaft was hitting the bottom of the transmission, so i pulled it back out. I had it all the way forward. I pulled it back and put it in the middle, and now the angle is okay and it doesn’t hit on the transmission other than that it has been excellent. Oh there was one thing so redcat gives you where they want you to put the shocks.
Veuillez m’excuser, this rear end already sits up high and everyone was talking about the high center of gravity. So this one i put in the very top hole above what they suggest and once you’ve rebounded it still sticks up a little bit. But that seems better to me. The fronts were angled forward because they want you to put them in the center, the very bottom center. I moved it over to the very far right, so at least i like my shocks, pretty straight up and down so that was that, Oh, you probably can’t tell in the light here so i know it’s a little bit sparkly. I did my bumpers with a weird weird paint job. My truck has really gotten a weird paint job, but i wanted it to be unique and different and that will come out in the driving video. I still have some holes to drill we’ll discuss the body when we get to that next video because i’ll tell you what, as stout as the kid is, there is a lot of drilling and making holes on the body. So if you think once you do this kit, if you think that was a pain in the ass and took a long time, the body’s going to take definitely a long time too, but the roll cage, the plastics oh, i will go on about that for the Next, video so far that was uh pretty much it so on the next one it will be.
I got ta do some cleanup because i’m gon na run it in the front yard for a change. The backyard is just a muddy snow pit, not a lot of open, straights right now, so i’m gon na do some cleanup on that today, and hopefully this truck will be ripping around on the next video. Alors merci. Everyone wait a minute. On a final note. Tim clark wanted to know the axle links on this truck and i just gave him a ballpark, but i’ve got my notes, tim the front axle is 10 inches and a fourth and the rear axle is 10 Pouces. 5, 8. and let’s. Do this let’s get this? Get this notepad out of the way and let me grab something okay, i grabbed something here: we’ve got the gen8 v2 and the windigo side by side now, just that’s an extended rear end, so the chassis themselves are still the same size, but there they are side To side beefy monster just so, we can see, Je pense, it’s fabulous to take the basic same chassis setup and make two completely different trucks with so that’s it next video ripping it up. Look at those tires. Looking at the different setups, i love it.
