The main differences between this and the oem 1m, replacing at least as far as i can tell, are that the back side, where the emblem is meant to go is hard plastic instead of soft rubber or silicone and teres no foam padding for the microchip. It was easy enough to swap the original foam to the new one, so no problem there. As for the back, i view the hard plastic as a big improvement, as the reason why i needed replacements is that the original silicone coating decomposed into a sticky mess everything swapped into the new casing perfectly, including my original key and a stick on emblem. A previous reviewer said terry snow pin to hold the key in place and that’s true the old key and handle clicked right in so that worked for me, no need to cut the blank, i just tossed it with the old, remote shell. This is a copy. Je pense, but if it is it’s a very good one, the rubbery texture that has failed on the oem key seems to be different, hopefully that’s for the better Music electronics fit perfect, as does the physical key buttons work flawlessly. My emblem was different, so i wasn’t able to swap that over and how the physical blade of the key is held by the little handle is different as well. The original is held with a pen and the new one seems to be glued. This is unfortunate because it would be easy enough to punch out the pen and put the key blade into the new handle, but it seems you may have to get the new one cut.
