It has beautiful body lines a roaring 5 liter v8, which is actually the same as the rcf track editions. V8. Međutim, i was more excited to drive the track edition, but i found the lc 500 a much more interesting car is the banana yellow for everybody. No, but try to look past that. So what makes me adore the lc 500, and why do i think it might be a future tuner car let’s go for a drive and find out alright lexus lc 500. Look at that. It pushed me just in the right spot. The lexus lc 500 is pretty breathtaking. I think it’s a really good word for it. Now i’m gon na make a quick comparison to the rcf track edition that i had recently and the rcf track edition had the exact same motor setup as this does. But for some reason this car feels like it has a lot more character and personality and kind of unhinged like the rcf looked unhinged, but it didn’t really feel like it acted unhinged. It should have had a little bit more of a thrill factor this, even though it’s almost more luxurious in some ways is more thrilling to drive. I know that’s very strange, to hear okay, why do i love the lc500 seat so much? There is hidden neck warmers in here it’s, literally like a heat vent that comes out and warms your neck in the cold, but of course they have the laughable rear seats that nobody gets fit back there, like literally nobody so glove compartment you don’t reach.
Here you push this: oh yes and it’s got basically velvet or alcantara suede inside asmr. Oh yes, every single time you hit it it’s like that’s the stuff, but the lc500 has this incredibly satisfying engine note and it’s. The best half throttle car i’ve ever heard because you kind of let it go through the gears, rather than wringing it out. But if you’re like half throttle the boom in between each gear is so great downshifts, just sound amazing, oh so good 5 liter, v8, 471 horsepower it just god checks so many boxes when it comes to driver feel it is a lexus that is unapologetically actually fun. But at the same time doesn’t lose the magic of what alexis is and what makes people love lexuses going to every stoplight is an event. So this is a 10 speed transmission, so you get to downshift over and over and over again to get that beautiful. Blip of a downshift earlier we talked about the interior, the interior, just knocks it out of the park, it’s comfortable. It holds you in place and it’s very inviting the gauges change with each mode. So i go to normal mode. It’S like a black normal gauge. I go into sport mode. It turns with a red line on the top on the gauge, and then sport plus the whole gauge turns white and red like race car. But then you go to comfort and eco and you’re in a lexus you’re in a normal lexus.
That is reliable and you can drive it every day, but you have the benefit of a 5 liter, v8 and it’s, naturally aspirated. When you look at this car it, it checks the it checks, the boxes like it looks exotic, but what i’ve noticed is with the color people think it looks exotic if this is more so like a silver car, something like that people go that’s, a really nice Car, but with the bright color and you go through a drive through people like lose it, they go. What is that? And then you tell them it’s a lexus and they’re like wait. What because lexus let’s be frank, isn’t really known for making crazy sports cars other than say the lfa sure you could say the isf and the rcf, but like we’re i’m talking more like two door, coupes that look elegant and exotic like the lc 500, you can Tell that they learned a lot from previous years and they made it usable and streetable all the time. When i wake up in the morning, i look forward to driving a lexus and that’s, not usually in my character. Typically, when i drive a lexus i go, you know these are just a really nice car that’s about it. Really nice car, not much more to say about it, like lexus, has always been the brand that it’s like they can really do no wrong, but they don’t really feel like you’re buying a true sports car.
If that makes sense, but this makes me feel something like it makes me giddy and it makes me smile and then i look at the look and i’m like whoa this car at this spec is only three thousand dollars more or roughly four than the rcf track Edition was – and i would take this – i i would like ah it’s so good it’s, so good i’m – very glad that lexus is announcing new engine setups and new stuff, like that. That’S gon na have more higher horsepower that’s very exciting. It shows that they’re trying to get into that segment but they’ve always had a hard time competing with their german counterparts. They’Ve always had a hard time going against the m’s of the world, the rss of the world, but this is every bit as good. I mean it’s, just the word is fabulous, the car is fabulous and no car i’ve ever driven has made you go. This speed limit should be higher than any other vehicle. I think i’ve ever reviewed because it just smoothes glass, you literally, are just in your own bubble that feels unaffected by the rest of the world like you’re just cruising and the next thing you know. I say this all the time i say like. Oh, this car dwarf speed or it does that it’s like no like seriously. This car makes you go. Yeah speed limit should be higher half throttle like that’s 60, and i was big towing it like freaking spongebob.
Are there faster cars out there absolutely for the money? There are faster cars out there, but for this kind of driver feel or feedback there’s, not a lot like this thing. It has like that e92 m3 slash, gt350, Ok, it doesn’t rev as high as say a gt350, but it gives off that really beautiful, smooth tone of something like that. Ah, like ah, oh no look at that. Oh my bad guys. My camera just mounted also listen to how satisfying this blinker is it’s like a ticking clock, a lot of people get in the car and they go where’s the time they don’t. Even look at the analog clock. They get it’s like they think it’s like a decoration piece, rather than actually telling the time just shows generational gaps. I guess i love how the door handles and everything are curved and elegant. Everything just is satisfying okay. This car is not cheap right. To je., a hundred and one thousand dollars starting or the vert is anyway, but in comparison, if you look at the lfa that car there’s only 500 of them ever around there roughly and not only that who knows their value nowadays off the top of my head. I know when they first came out. They were dumb, expensive, but now they’re, even more dumb, expensive, because they’re collector items. This gives you a lot of the looks of the lfa’s rear end, especially it’s one of the only cars that dwarf speed, but i think, makes you enjoy it more like.
Instead of worrying about you know putting inputs in and making it go straight. This car just works so well that you start grinning because you’re, like oh i’m, going fast right and you look down you’re like all right, a lot of people would say: Pa, i could get a hellcat or i could get this or i could get that if I want horsepower, but this is one of the cars where you get in it and you go it’s not about the horsepower it’s very aston martin in some sense, but with lexus reliability. Even if you’re not super into the grand touring segment. You know like aston, martin and stuff, like that everybody will find something to love about the lexus lc 500. If they get to experience it, because i think a lot of people see these things at car shows and don’t see them really on the street. They don’t think much of them and it’s, because they’re not really talked about that much, and i hope that today i have kind of helped, educate and also opened a lot of people’s eyes to this car to the next time. They see it to go. You know what maybe i should look more into this thing, so i’ve had this car for three days: that’s the lexus lc 500. I absolutely adore this thing. I really really do. I am flabbergasted that i liked it more than the rcf, because i looked more forward to the rcf track edition, but then i ended up finding myself really loving driving this thing.
Every morning, like i looked forward to getting the car every morning and that’s what a car is supposed to do, it’s supposed to create a emotional response, and this car creates an emotional response, not to mention it passes what i call the gas station test. It is my new that dude and blue rating does a car pass the gas station test when you go in and grab a drink at the gas station and you turn around and look at it and go nice and then you go into the convenience store grab. Your bottle of water and then you come out and go that’s. My car. This car passes that wonderful test in your brain going that’s a special car it’s, a shame.
