So this dude’s strategy was years of design and development. My strategy is more power powering it we’ve got two ginormous motor two ginormous speed controllers and 24 cells of lipo power. So i started this build last year and you guys have been bugging me for the past few months. Saying kev: when is the speed car going to come back out when you’re going to finish it? Pa, a couple of reasons why i haven’t done it it’s reason: number one i’ve been waiting for lipos and they have just turned up reason: number two it’s winter here in the uk, the roads are wet, the roads are nasty, so we’ve got to really wait until The weather clears up before we can properly run it. We’Ve got some aerodynamic upgrades. We’Ve got some more power better tires. So in this video we got ta put all this stuff into there and then we’re gon na take it out for a quick test drive also from scorched parts. We’Ve got titanium heavy duty, driveshafts and titanium pillow balls, because, with all that horsepower we need bulletproof, drivetrain and then we’re going to go out and give it his first run just to make sure that it all works, but we’re not actually going to go. For the record attempt just yet we’re going to wait till the weather gets better well, we did run it once on his banger ds, but one of them melted. Oh, did you see the front? Lift up? We killed martin’s phone. So for me to attempt the world record. Stuff’S gon na go wrong. There’S an insane amount of horsepower in there. I haven’t got a clue of aerodynamics it’s going to crash guys and this isn’t cheap it’s about four grand in this car just to esc’s alone, are eleven hundred dollars each and there’s two of them so yeah. I really don’t want to crash it also coming up. I got a brand new speed build coming up here. This one here is not for the world record this one here. Maybe it will do 150 za 170 mile an hour we’re going to base it on a limitless. We’Ve got a corvette body we’re going to paint it this color here, Moć, hd servo, some of our shift wins perfect. Past carbon fiber parts, some customise the upgrades power wise yet not fully sure we’re, probably gon na run one motor, this sort of size. We might go with an xlx2, i don’t know yet, but i want to use this car, so i can kind of hoon it around drift it around smoke.
The tyres up and do speed runs as well, so guys give me a comment down below what power system do you think we should put in that car and then we’re also building a pro monster truck and the rest of these parts should be here in the Next few weeks, we’ve got 2 000 horsepower of engine 66 inch tall tires and when they’re on it’s going to take up the whole whip for this room. The shock absorbers have got 30 inches of travel and you can jump these things, 40, 50 or maybe even 60 foot high in the air, backflip and race them crash them all that crazy stuff. O da, O da! You like that yeah! You do like that. What’S going on here, so these motors here are 3200 kvs. That is how many rpms it does per volt there’s a lot of volts going in here. So that means a lot of rpm and on paper, this car on 24s lipo will do 600 mile an hour and obviously guys it’s never going to get anywhere near that speed, and that is going to be way way way too fast.
So we’re, going down to roughly half the kv that’s going to half the rpm are still going to on paper, Ići 300 mile an hour but it’s going to give it double the torque, which is actually going to give us more top speed when you’re reaching high Speeds the main thing holding this car back is aerodynamic, so you need more, you need more torque to push it through the wind and these motors are going to have double the amount of torque. If you’re running one motor on a normal motor mount, you can change the gearing with different size, gears and pinions and stuff, but on this car we’re running direct drive, we’ve got one motor going straight to the front diff and another motor goes straight to the rear. Diff, so we can’t really change the gearing we can change the diff ratio slightly, but we haven’t really got much to play with so the only way that we can really change the gearing is to change the kv to motors, which is a pain in the butt, Because every time you want to change the gearing you got to buy new motors and in the case of this build it’s two every time and then we’ve got to find a way of mounting these batteries. So these particular lipos here they’re 650 milliamp hour 130c, 260c burst 8 gauge cables and qs8 connectors guys. These are reheated here’s an xt90 just for comparison, so we’re going to get three of these on this side.
Oh and look at that that fits in there perfectly so we’ve got three this side, another three of this side, while we’re at it. Nwo, let’s get these motors in getting wired up, get the wing on there get the rest of it all in there. The batteries and then we can take it out and give it its first run Music. So just while we’ve got these motors out, this is the size motor that normally goes into this sort of car, and this size motor can make a car go to over. A hundred mile an hour check that out the motor going in there is way way bigger and we got two of them but check this, but out this motor here check it out guys that’s even bigger, and i think we could squeeze two of these in there.
We’Ll have to move the esc’s apart a little bit. We have to do something special with the drive cups, because these shafts here are a lot bigger. But if these motors haven’t got enough power, then we can go for two of these guys. This thing is gon na have so much horsepower. We’Re not gon na know what to do with it. Glazba, Music next we’ve got to make up a mount for this live pod. I think the easiest way is just going to be to use some velcro and then maybe just get a strap and somehow get it over the top boom and the body still goes perfectly over the top of it all look at it. So i put some velcro on this connectors as well just to hold them down, because otherwise all these wires are flapping around and it makes it difficult to get the body on so next let’s get this rasher friend batwing on there Music. So next, because of the way that i mount, the body i’ve got a body post here on the ring stay, so we got ta drill, a hole in there. Music next let’s get these gorgeous drive, shafts and pillow balls fitted. So these are thicker than stock and they’re made out of titanium Music Music we’re almost ready to go. I got ta plug it in i’ve, got to calibrate the esc’s we’ve got to make sure that it all works and then we’re going to take it out and give it its first drive so initially i’m just going to run it on these hoon tyres.
These are probably good for about 140 mile an hour, something like that. I just want to run. It first make sure it works, get near those sort of speeds and then once we push these to their limits, then we’re going to put the foam tyres on foam tires they don’t last long. So we can’t really afford to wreck a load of tyres, just testing it that’s. Why we’re going to start off with the rubber tyres, so that’s shiffrin he’s already had an armor up to over 170 miles an hour with his fin and with these foam tyres. Oh she’s, looking good, though what do you reckon guys we’re ready to program the esc’s, so i’ve got the app open on my computer. I never used it before so i’ve got to figure it out, but luckily mgm have made some videos that go through and show you exactly how to set it up so i’m, not gon na bother filming the whole process. You basically got ta plug the esc into the car, calibrate the end points go for a few settings and stuff put the wheels on, and then we should be good to run and i’m just for now, while i’m setting it up i’ll put these little bridge cables Across here and we’re just going to set it up with one battery, so first of all, we need to calibrate the end stops so that’s.
The first one calibrated all right same again on that one boom got the front one working now. It does sound a bit rough, but i’m, not really sure why we’ll have to investigate that later on it’s actually going in the wrong direction, so we’re gon na have to link it up to the app and then flip over to motor rotation. Oh, alternatively, because these are sensorless motors, we can swap over a couple of the motor wires that’s going to make the esc’s go the opposite direction boom. So next is plug both ascs in at the same time and make sure that both the front and the rear is driving guys. Nadajmo se, that’s gon na go so let’s. Get these wheels back on get your body back on and then we’re going to take it out with its first little test drive here we are on location it’s. Getting a bit dark. We’Ve got clearly in in the house. They’Ve got toy in there that we’re going to play with in a different video we’re all plugged in we’re, only running it on 8s and 8s to start with, and then in a different video we’re, going to really open it up. I’Ve, probably given it about, i don’t know five percent power it’s got so much more in it. All i really wanted to do is just make sure that it works. It definitely needs different springs, it’s really too soft on the front here. So once the weather warms up and the floors are dryer and we can find the proper location where we can run this thing on then we’re going to take it out and give it some serious speed runs we’re not going to break the world record on the First attempt it’s probably going to take a little bit of trial and error, but you know: stick around follow me on a journey.
