e295: Rc Car Lighting Kit Revisione, Parte 9: My Trick RC UF7C
In this episode, we’re going to review another lighting kit and to my joy it’s, going to be one from my trick. Rc in this case here is going to be the uf7c. ora, in an earlier video, we did review the uf7. This is the newer variant of this, and i picked this up for another more complex, Costruire, so let’s see how this thing works out. This is just the controller, but you can buy them in a kit. I opted not to do this because i wanted to customize the light harness now. I haven’t actually ordered those lights yet so i’m going to use the ones that i picked up at an earlier time. Va bene, so here is our main controller. These have quite a number of settings which you can select using the mode button, and then we have inputs here on the back is a is this a velcro? No, this is just a double sided tape. ora, Purtroppo, i can’t tell you what all this does so let’s look at the instructions just fy. The kit that i ordered contains all these options here now this nine volt cable, Sono – probably not going to use, but if you are going to run it let’s say on a trailer or something that doesn’t normally have an onboard source, then a nine volt battery would Be a good option as before they’re, instead of wasting paper they’re asking you to go to the website to pull up the instructions and then see how you install this so let’s.
Do that searching for uf7c up here will bring you to this page and way at the bottom you’re going to have the instruction manual and then right here, click on uf7c now again, depending on when you’re looking at this things might change. But here is our instruction manual, sorry for the glare so scrolling this up. ok, this is where we’re going to go and you can see that it’s, giving you all the different modes and what they suggest you use them for now. Naturalmente,, you’re going to use a mode that best suits your application, whether or not it corresponds to what they have here. But that is quite a number of modes and what’s kind of cool down here is that we have a trailer mode. So that’s really neat. The earlier version of this did not have nearly this many modes, ok, but this is the page that we’re going to start in and i’ll read this and do it here on the controller very early on. They will explain to you that this is a power pass through for roof flashes or other accessories. This is not an input, so don’t connect the battery to this or don’t try and plug this into the receiver you’re going to use the two channel here as an input so we’ll just plug one of these in for now let’s see here, you can see right There that there’s a little cutout so usually that would be for a futaba or j style connector.
Penso che sia, a j style, this plug doesn’t, have that so do pay attention what orientation the wires are in in the instruction manual. It shows that the white wire is to the left so do ensure that, perché, if you plug it in backwards, it’ll either not work or potentially cause damage so channel. One is the throttle. Remember that not all the kits that this come with have two y adapters. Some will only have one we’ll start with the mode zero so for this mode here, i’m going to plug channel one here into channel three on my receiver, so the receiver is on now for the initial mode, 0 it’s on or off. So in this case here everything should be off now. I’Ve already made a mistake: the instructions are showing channel 1 no function and channel 2 is the on off control in mode zero. It should all be off press the third channel they’re on press, the third channel. di nuovo, they’re off so that’s it. This is just all on all off for mode one which is watercraft to press it. One time you’ll see a single blink. This one here starts off all on, so it will have a b and c that are always on. Tuttavia, d e and f again on third channel moving on to mode two, you will see two flashes so for this mode, you’re going to have the ambers here flashing and the tails solid on you’re, also going to have the headlights on, and this here is going To be your center brake light, which is off your running lights, which are on dim here and then your reverse lights, which are off, but this, Tuttavia, is designed for a system that doesn’t have any outside input.
So you can plug this into your nine volt system. If you do have an outside input, like your throttle – which i think this is the most common way to do, this you’ll plug this into your number number two port on your receiver. This one here will go into the auxiliary port on the receiver, but it will not plug into anything else. This is not really a bypass. This is just an input when you have it plugged into the esc, so this is what’s going to happen a little bit confused at first. But basically, when you have this thing plugged in and on for greater than 20 seconds without any input, you can see that the center brake light and the tail brake lights will flash they’ll be into hazard mode, and you can shut that off by pressing three seconds On the center button here, that’ll shut off the hazard mode in mode two or you can press it again three seconds and turn it back on, but the minute you give it gas so they’ll stop doing that. They’Ll stop flashing right now, it’s in low hit the brakes and they’re bright. This is the third brake light, so in regular it’s off it breaks, it goes high. If you hit the brakes and go into reverse, it still comes on, reverse will be in port a so. The hazards will be on port b and on port d. Port d is the running lights and those will be on dim, usually port.
A is reverse port c will do this slow blink d? Are your dim running lights, which is great because usually running lights are far too bright? You can turn the entire system on or off by pressing your third channel, and now the whole system is off mode. Three is almost identical to mode two, except in this case this is a crawler that does not have a break. So if your crawler goes from forward to reverse, instead of going to break we’ll press it one more time, then we’ll look for three flashes. The flashes are a bit fast, so we’ll turn the lights on again with our third channel in this case here, so these will always be on, except if you’re going forward, so we’ll go forward and they go dim which is kind of cool. So if i take my hand off the throttle, that’s a very nice feature, our center brake light is the same. These will be on only when the truck is in neutral. Everything else is the same for mode four we’re going to go into standard car mode and just note that you can really run any of these modes with a nine volt source, but you’re not going to have that input, but it is an option so for mode Four again we’ll press and hold one time press and hold, and we have four flashes. I think that was pretty quick for this here. It will be nearly identical, except so our break and tail light is here c becomes our turn signal, but in this particular case the turn signals will be off port.
One right here is attached to the throttle. porto. Two right here is attached to the steering. Sorry it’s in hazard right now, because the vehicle has been sitting so let’s give it some gas okay shut those off right. So these are the turn signals if i turn left and right so i’m – really surprised that they actually don’t show that on here right port. Due, i guess in this case here it’s going to make you: have it go to a switchable source but that’s not entirely necessary, you can make it go left and right now, moving to mode 5. These should be dim which they are and still using the steering input left right. modo 6 is drift mode again. You’Ll have nothing connected to the servo circuit on the receiver. In questo caso, you don’t have your turn signals. This now becomes your backfire. So if we give it gas and let off that’s, pretty cool so there’s, your backfire circuit, break and taillights work, the same way reverse works. The same way. The center brake light works the same way, headlights usually on and then running lights, usually on mode 7 is for chp, police and utility vehicles. Quindi di nuovo, click that seven blinks, probably and for this tail and brake is the same headlights on is the same and that’s it top left is called a wing wang strobe. What the heck is that that i guess this one here is a slow, strobe, that’s c d is also a wing weighing strobe i’ve, never heard that in my life and then f is also a slow strobe and again you are going to have the option to Plug something else in here, so that is mode 7.
c'è, not much change between this mode, with an external input versus running off the nine volt. But you actually can turn on and shut off these strobes here using channel three mode. Eight is fire truck and police, and for this we’re going to again b is going to be the same. A is still that wing wang, strobe, still a slow, strobe wing, wang wing, wag wing, wag wing, wet wig wag, Oh mio Dio, wig wag. So these are wig wag, strobes headlight. Now the difference between this one and the previous one is that all of these you can see down here when i press the third channel these shut off and these go to solid, so let’s turn that back on. Altrimenti, the headlights are always on and tail and brake are the same as usual. Now mode 9 is aircraft and i apologize i’m not too familiar with aircraft. I hope to make that change so we’ll have nine blinks there. A is our slow, strobe. So b is our fuselage strobe. So this now is our gun led there we go cool, so this would be plugged into your third channel. So there’s our machine gun, fr navigation lights down here. We’Ll have a wing strobe on d landing lights, oh è, interesting landing lights normally off, and it seems that we’ll plug this into the fourth channel: oh that’s cool, so landing lights on and off very neat for mode 10. The only difference that i can see here is that the landing lights are normally on versus on nine they’re.
Normally off mode 11 is going to be for the fighter jet, and what that’s going to do is give you slow, strobe on fuselage strobe, on nav lights. On nav lights, on landing, lights are still controlled by channel 4 and wing strobe on and just a side note that this is a high power output that is on from modes 9 Attraverso 12, which turns on or off with the fourth channel landing lights and moving On to mode 12, which is warbird again many flashes there here, we’ll have a slow strobe on fuselage strobe on gun led normally off, but turns on with third channel. Ho, like that ones, Let ' s, try that here there’s our third channel, sweet, the slow, strobe landing lights, and this one here, the landing lights and the these are both slow, strobe landing lights. These are both normally on but shut off with the fourth channel. These are nav lights and again, come ho detto in precedenza, high power led on and off with the landing lights. Our last mode is 13 and this is going to be our trailer bluetooth. I think it’s really really cool so for trailer mode. We have a and c that are both. Infatti, you know what let me start this one by saying: Let ' s, look at it with the 9 volt source, with no input for that. We’Ll have a c g this one here, all on constantly b will be dim. D, e and f are all arrow a b and c, so we should start with the red, then the white and then the red, ok, cool and c should be on b, should be dimmer, yeah it’s a lot quite a lot dimmer and then a is on Right as well let’s plug it into a input source, the on off channel 3 is going to control all the bottom ones here.
So if we get them all lined up here, we’ll plug this and now they’re all off turn that back on there you go for b that’s, the only one that’ll be any different. The b is going to have our brakes, so this is going to be just driving lights and hit our brakes and they’re brighter and there we have it. This is a really really powerful unit. You’Ve got a lot of functionality, a lot of expandability. Sai che è, not the cheapest one on the market, but the fact of the matter is i’ve reviewed a lot of these and for a lot of applications. You don’t need all of these ports, but if you’re like me and you have a screw loose and you like a lot of lights, this is pretty hard to pass up so again. This is the uf7c check this out from my trick. Rc. This is my new favorite. I hope this video was useful. Thank you all. So much and we’ll see you next time: Musica.
