RC Mythbusters – Traxxas è costoso? O no? Le risposte potrebbero sorprenderti
ora, for those that know me, i am neither a traxxas fan boy or an armor fan boy. I just love good rc cars. I don’t care who makes them and yet i’ve been called both along the way i’m sure i will be again in the future, but that is not what this video is about. It’S not me selling traxxas to people it’s, simply asking the question is trash this expensive or not, showing you a few examples of where i think they are a little bit high in price, but also talking about a few of the reasons as to why they may Be a little bit higher and worse may be worth paying a little bit more and also talking about where they’re much cheaper than their competitors. Now i expect this topic to be quite emotive. In the comments section to be quite lively, all i would say is keep it clean child friendly and most of all, keep it objective and if you’ve got an issue or a good point, put an example in the comments section don’t just say: oh attractions are expensive Because that kind of helps well, nobody well, first of all i’d like to talk about the overall pricing of traxxas cars and, most of the point, the length of time those prices are held for hs xmax. Behind me, 899 now hasn’t virtually moved up in price since the what five plus years it’s been launched. If you look at some of its rivals, they’ve already moved up in price over the past year.
So from the outset, to my mind, it is play that tracks us sets. The price might be slightly higher than people would like to see, but in five years time that’s maybe moved up by 10 Dollari 20 bucks at the most on there. So they’re not seen to be moving up in price all the time and that pricing methodology seems to apply across the whole range, whether it’s entry level vehicles like a two wheel, drive slash or a two wheel drive rustler. They seem to have been at the same price for literally for about the past decade on there, so was to say initially they may seem a higher price if it’s still the same price in like five eight years time. To my mind, è, not necessarily overpriced at the start, and also some of the money that you’re paying in that initial price goes into, providing the ongoing support that you receive and some people here out. There is going to go. Oh traxxas customer service support absolutely terrible. Um we’ve all got a different opinion on that, all i can say my best experience or anything something on a sunday afternoon, 12 o’clock the next day on a monday. It arrived in the past texas to california in probably less than 24 Ore, that wasn’t even on a premium service, Cioè, maybe a wonderful example but fairly outstanding. To my mind, the one thing i would say where they are good at is the spare parts pricing.
Bene, you might pay what you perceive to be a slightly higher price for the car to start with this burger to fit on that slash. I just showed you three dollars cheapest chips to my mind, and it is that ongoing cost that you need to factor in as well. È, not just the upfront cost so in spare parts. To my mind, sono – absolutely killing it in terms of the cost of them and to highlight that i’ve got the xmax on the side. Here there was a reason why there was an asx max sat here i supposed to and a test creighton which i had an order. But thanks to a video i watched of kevin tolbert’s, he compared the price of the parts for the creighton versus the parts for the asx max new creighton chassis over here in the usa hundred dollars, and i would just highlight once again at this point folks. Not a traxxas fanboy, not an armored fanboy, but there’s kevin pointed out x, maxx chassis about 29.95, and it covered also highlighted a couple of other spare parts but it’s that kind of cost differential that set me thinking. This would be cheaper to run in the long run, and i would point out wasn’t any more expensive than the nate s creighton, but steer away from that richie, because i don’t want this video to be about armor versus traxxas. This is purely a video about where traxxas might be expensive and where it’s cheaper.
So to answer the question is traxxas expensive. When it comes to spare parts, i don’t think so. I think they’re, one of the cheapest out there and whilst they may be perceived to have a higher cost on some of the cars one of which i will talk about in particular in a minute you have to bear in mind. They’Ve got a huge support network out there. That is definitely, to my mind, a price worth paying in getting a traxxas. If you are new to lc and one of the cars goes wrong breaks, something you can go to pretty much any hobby store in the country and get the part for it pretty much the same day and that, to my mind, is a price worth paying. If the car has got a fault under warranty, and somebody out there is going to say, yeah they’ve always got faults under warranty, rich customer service. Terrible. You can call traxxas up and you’re going to speak to somebody in two to five minutes at the most. If you don’t believe me, do me a favor call traxxas tomorrow and call then call horizon hobby see how long it takes you to get through if you’ve bought your son or daughter a new rc car for christmas, and something goes wrong with it. What is the price that you would pay for customer service, where you can talk to somebody in under five minutes or wait an hour and a half i’ve got an 11 year old daughter.
I can tell you right now: there is no way she is going to wait around for an hour and a half. If i bought her an rc car for christmas, so occasionally they might be a little bit more expensive on things. But to my mind, that’s shorter wait time, it’s a no brainer. If you’ve got children, it is worth paying the extra for. But there are two sides to every coin, so where are traxxas, maybe a little bit more expensive let’s go on the computer and take a look well one of the areas where they may be coming for a little bit of criticism on parts costing quite a lot Is some of these very nice to have alloy parts that they do forty five dollars two aluminum caster blocks on here? They do get a lot of competition in this area on the aftermarket, as these are perceived by people to be expensive in cost for items like these, but at the same time they’re extremely well machined. Indeed, but yes, when you’re buying a pair of caster blocks of 45 dollars for a 300 Modello, i can appreciate that does seem to make them look quite expensive. So i would say on sonos alloy parts, which are really nice to have very well machined and make the car look fantastic, but a lot of people do perceive some of them to be a little bit expensive for what they are. Maybe compared to some third party aftermarket parts and in this video you might hear me talk about traxxas cars being perceived to be higher priced when this trx 6 came out much like the trx4 before it, people went up like 650 dollars for a crawler that’s, crazy.
No one’s going to buy it, it comes out. People drive it and everybody’s like here’s my money, so i would say if you think attracts this car that you, like the look of it’s expensive drive it first of all before making that purchase decision. Now there is one that’s come out in the past year: the traxxas horse and that horse 4×4 vxl comes in at 479.99, Ma è, Un 1 10 60 mile an hour truck. What kind of price did we perceive? It was going to come in at well. Probably more like that of the slash 4×4 vxl or the stampede 4×4 vxl at ‘9.99. I agree with a lot of people out there had it been below 400. I think this would have been selling i like hotcakes, but if it had come in at that price, then surely from a truck’s point of view, it would have been far too close to the stampede, 4×4 vxl etc. Anche, as i say, traxxas tend to price the cars initially and it then tends to stay at that price for a long period of time. If you ask me in five years time, is the house gon na have gone up in price. The answer is probably going to be: No, i don’t think it will richie. I am standing on the fence on it. I unbox one down at no cal hobbies, but with the covert and everything i have not dreamed one as yet, but it does look about 100 bucks higher than where we would perceive it to be in the marketplace for the spec of that car, ma questo è.
Just my perception at this point – and i know quite a few other people are of the same opinion but i’ve not driven one, and i would take that example back to the trx4. When the trx4 first came out, a lot of people that are darcy rock crawlers out there was our traxxas terrible x is going to be a joke. The crawler’s going to fall apart at the first hurdle and what, within three months, you couldn’t, buy a trx4 for love, no money, because traxxas couldn’t make them fast enough, because all of the people that were rubbishing them at the start then drove one drove a friend’s. One and wanted one because the thing is so darn capable on there, so i would say to anybody out there knocking tractors or knocking armor for that reason, drive one car from either manufacturer before making your decision. They both have good and bad points but, like i say, è, not the issue of this video and there is also the license factor with traxxas. This is a licensed mercedes, amg body. That is a licensed ford body sitting on the traxxas rally behind me. They do look much much better than a lot of rc car bodies out there. You are going to pay that extra bit of money for them being licensed. But, to my mind i think that is worth it and you probably will do as well. If you were to see these two girls in the flesh, at least when they’re clean, which they’re not so coming back to my original statements of, is traxxas, expensive and if it is, does it justify the value? Bene, i would say in general, they’re not expensive in some areas, i i think me and other people perceive them to be expensive, but then, when you look at what you get for the money in terms of that telephone support, in particular in terms of the ability To just go out to any hobby store and be able to buy the part off the shelf, Credo, particularly if you’re new to rc or old, that is a price worth paying.
To my mind, i don’t know about anybody else out there, but i do not even like waiting around a week for spare parts to arrive or even longer undercover at the minute and most of all, i do not like waiting around 90 minutes on the phone to Get through to a company two minute wait. Time takes a lot of boxes for me, and particularly if you’ve got kids that will for you as well. So hopefully i’ve shown you maybe where i think they are expensive, but also a lot of areas as to whether not things like the spare parts. I’Ve shown you along the way, and also the fact that sometimes it is worth paying a little bit more to get the customer service on there now somebody’s going to say a terrible customer service from traxxas yeah. But people have had terrible customer service, probably from every rc supplier out there going anyway feel free to have your say in the comment section below the video, but as ever, please keep it chill friendly well thumbs up.
