In the morning i mean nitro in the morning. The napalm line is from our famous american film moves. They escaped me anyway, richie. What are you doing with a kind of nitro fuel? In je hand, well one of the very first rc cars i owned was a kyosho pro 10.. I put the two speed mode on it. Every hop up going sold it a number of years back and deeply regretted it. Ever since now the price of the vintage ones has just gone absolutely skyward. So when the people at fury rc said rich, would you like to test out a new nitro solemn car? Who was i to turn them down? Is it the one on the outside of the box? Goed, het is, not this one but it’s one. That looks quite similar to this one. As contained in this box. We have got a 1 10 nitro rally car, but it is kind of road focused on here and if you’re wondering what brand it is, it’s hsp, which stands for high speed on there now with nitro, it can be your best friend or your worst enemy. I will say it does require a little bit of work a bit of running in on the car to get it working. It is not as simple it’s plugging in a lipo battery in your brushless system racing off down the road. You have got to run two three or even four tanks of nitro through the engine to bed it in before going absolutely crazy and driving around.
Als u, if you run the car flat out too early on, U, will damage the engine so with all that stuff out the way let’s get the car unboxed and see just what we get for our money. Now i’ve already had a peek inside the box and i can tell you now. I am loving the look of this car, my first nitro in a number of years, but i can’t wait to get this thing fired up. So what did we get for our money? Goed, a very cool semi scale, subaru replica car, not a licensed replica as i’ll, explain in just a second, we get our transmitter. What we don’t get is any nitro fuel with it. Nee, do we get a nitro starter kit, but yours on amazon, for under 20 bucks we get a fairly neat transmitter which is fully functional. You will need four aaa batteries in the bottom of it, and you will also need some a batteries to go in the car more as to where that reason is in just a second on the transmitter. We have got reversible, Throttle, Omkeerbare, Stuurinrichting, steering drill right, Throttle. Dual rate and steering trim, Inderdaad, that’s got so much functionality on it. You could be forgiven, it was a transmitter for an electric car. Now we have a fully detailed instruction manual. The first thing – i’m going to be doing off. Camera is reading this thoroughly. Before setting this car up, because this is not the kind of thing that you can just pour nitro fuel in and pray for, the best with it there’s a little bit more work involved to get the best out of a nitro car.
But when it, when you do get it right, it is absolutely worth we even look at the car first thing i’m going to do is: go and charge up my glove plug now for a quick tour around the body before we get to the inner workings of The car, if you are familiar with the subaru impreza, this shape, will seem very familiar indeed. I’Ve actually put the stickers on it came with. Zoals ik al zei., it is not a licensed replica, as you might tell, from the slight misspelling on the car, but with the sto stickers on board. The thing has got that real rally car look to it, although if you look at the tires and the right on there, you will see this car is very much road focused. I was actually a huge rally fan back in the day and i used to go and watch group b in the golden era of rally when cars used to drive a bit like this and back in the day, those monsters were hitting not to 60 in two And a half seconds yeah just on loose gravel. Now i just want to say, with a car out of the box, that you will be seeing the car run in this video first bit of shot of it. I said you’re not going to see it run in this video because it requires a little bit of setup. The setup was to fill it full of fuel.
It fired up on the second pull of the starter. Quite possibly one of the easiest nitro cars i’ve ever had to work on, as you will see in just a minute, although i would say i’m gon na have to run four to five tank vault of nitro through this to bed the engine in before we can Go at it full throttle, so what runs later on in the video don’t expect it to be flying along at 60 70 mijlen per uur, but it does run nonetheless, and i would just say when that nitro engine is bedded in this thing is going to fly Along as it has got a two speed gearbox fitted to this car, but you’re not going to see that second gear kicking in this video because i’ve got to bend the engine in before i go full out on the revs. Now let’s get the body off see what we have under the skin and, i have to say, i’ve had a sneak peek at this earlier. I was very very impressed indeed with the quality of this car nice foam impact bumper at the front on there. The body posts could be a little bit thicker on that it’s a little bit tricky to locate them on the body. That would have been my only minor gripe on there. Our shocks aren’t threaded, but they are adjustable. You could put spacers in there, but oh four wheel, drive metal, Station, Assen, zowel voor- als achterzijde.
You will notice adjustable turnbuckles for the front steering and for the rear suspension for the camber on there now i touched upon the car being ready to run, and i said you will need batteries for to go in the car. That is because, in here, we’ve got a battery compartment for the receiver, omdat, unlike an electric car, you’ve got no lipo battery non little macro hydride battery to plug into the thing. You are simply filling it full of nitro fuel in here and firing it up, which case you need a separate power supply to power. Your receiver on there – and i mentioned the car being quite road focused. Even though it’s got a rally body on there. There definitely appear to be tarmac based tires on that, although these will be very easy to swap out for something with a little bit more off road grip. Ja, you’ve got a little bit of room on there and you could raise the ride height by putting spacers in the springs there. The big difference is between this. An electric car you’ve got two servos we’ve got our steering servo located down here and a server on the back here for the throttle on the engine and the brake brake richie yep that’s right on this car, like any nitro one we’ve got a disc brake tucked Away here, so the servo in one direction is controlling the throttle when you’re pulling it the other way, it’s applying the brake on air.
If you’ve not driven a nitro car before, if you’ve, not driven a nitro car before you’re gon na need to watch out for the brakes, because these things break when it’s set up properly like nothing else on earth anyway, moving from the front to the back got A fuel tank with quick fill lid on there. As i say, a little bit of work involved in getting these set up our tuned pipe on this side. Moving on back we’ve got a nitro engine there, the globe plug down in the middle there that’s, where we’re going to put that glow plug starter that i had on charge. Now this slightly different a lot of nitro cars have to pull start on the outside of the car. This that’s it on the inside of the car, not necessarily a problem, and it does keep the pull start handle nicely out of the way. Algemene, i have to say i am very, very impressed with the engineering on this. Some of the nitro cars out there that you can get that is cheaper, are cheap for a reason. This does not feel at all cheap feels quite a high quality item on it. Nice thick aluminum chassis plate on there, speaking of which let’s check that out from underneath on the chassis, everything looks pretty well engineered now, the great thing being you don’t necessarily need to use the pull starter. If you’re going to use this car regularly, you could do like i might do and invest in an electric starter box, where you simply got you’ve got plug heater in here, and you push the car down onto the electric box and there’s like a big rubber wheel.
That fires around underneath which fires up against this flywheel and starts the car for you very easy. Indeed, when you’ve got it set up with one of those to get your nitro curve started but, as i say, they’re a little bit more involving than electric. But overall i have to say i am looking forward to taking this baby out weight. Verstandig, Ja, not too bad at all i’m thinking, maybe three to four pounds in weight under there only marginally more than electric, while the engine’s, not turning over the transmission on the bench here feels very smooth indeed, which is a good sign now. I would just like to say something my friend john from fox city, Rc, pointed out when he came around the other night. This body is just incredible not from just from the way it looks. Goodness only knows what thickness of lexan they have used on this thing, you could literally stand on that and it’s it’s, not unbreakable. The thickness on the thing is just crazy. You could hit something doing 60 65 miles an hour with that and it’s it’s not going to bend at all. You can barely even push up i’m leaning full on that and it’s not flattening down crazy, which boats not really well for it and the impacts have a big crash, but it shows thought has gone in to the whole of this car hope that makes sense. Now the first thing i’m going to do is, go and read that instruction manual put some batteries in here, so i’ve got power for it now.
Hopelijk, my global starter should be charged up by now, anyway time to get some of that nitro fuel in my filler bottle use that to fill the fuel tank on the car i’m going to use the screwdrivers on the kit to adjust it to adjust the carburetor In line with the instruction manual, but let me show you how to fire it up and then in the next video we are going to be running in anger and we’re, going to put the gps on it and see just how fast this goes, but more to The point i am looking forward to how well this thing handles and on that transmitter, if you’re new to nitro you’re, slightly worried about the potential power of these cars, i’ve actually found out, it’s got a three speed switch on here, so you can start off on Slow while you’re learning in the car, as i probably will be doing then medium and then high power on there very neat, indeed wasn’t – expecting that okay for a batteries in the bottom of the transmitter, two screws to undo here to get to the waterproof receiver compartment On there – and you will see, we’ve got a little pullout battery tray to put another four a batteries in there to powder receiver. Now at this stage, not any danger, because i’ve not feel the car up as yet. But i do just want to highlight something on this car. Allereerst, turn the transmitter on then turn the receiver on not sure on the power on that servo, but that is very smooth indeed feels very, very strong from the absolute outset way.
The danger is, if you don’t turn this off first and you turn the transmitter off first, you don’t want to risk a runaway car, because you turn this off the transmitter off first. That could happen, but is that the break on? Is that full throttle? Ik ben.? Not quite sure on there, but i certainly you certainly don’t want to take the risk, because if that car has some problem with the radio and goes off like that, you have got a major major problem, because if the thing goes off on full throttle, you can’t Disconnect the battery, zoals jij, can with an electric car so a little bit more care needed when working on nitro from the very outset before you, even fire it up, but very rewarding when you get it right, fingers crossed. But the most important thing is going to be found on here as to how to set that nitrile engine up so get to work. Richie. Oke, moment of truth, all i’ve done so far is i’ve removed. The air filter put my finger over the hole on there and pulled the starter a couple of times in order to draw the fuel through right on fingers cross be far up. Alright Applause, vrij goed. Oke, the thing is not to go mad with the throttle. I don’t want too many revs on here, so we’re not going to be going doing 50 60 miles an hour out on air. The brake well breaks very well: Music we’ve got smoke coming out, which is good Music, that shouldn’t be uh Music Applause running too badly Music now we’ve got to do is drive like this for four or five tanks of fuel.
Goed, i have to say i was a bit skeptical as to whether it was going to fire up the first time. All i did off. Camera was put remove the air filter here, put my finger up against the carburetor air inlet and pulled the starter. A couple of times to dry until the fuel fuel was drawn through to the carburetor on, there then put my glow plug starter on the top, as you saw on there and that folded down that fired up one. What second third pull on there absolutely outstanding all. I did in terms of the screw setting there’s a high and a low screw on here. That is the bit that does need careful adjustment on on the car, but i did it exactly as the instructions said and i’ve just got to back off the high speed. One i’ve just got to lean off the high speed screw once i’ve run, my four or five tank fulls of fuel are fueled through they do recommend not going mad don’t, try and run them through those tank folds through at full speed. You notice, i was just going slowly round the yard there with it. The second high speed gear had not kicked in there and it’s unlikely to until the car is running, and i can really let the revs loose in which case i’m like at which point i may need to tune the fuel supply a little bit more. But i have to say absolutely outstanding for the money that it starts.
What second third pool going? I promise you it would run in this video. It is one of the easiest nitro cars i’ve ever worked on for getting the thing up and running in the first place. As i say, they can be your best friends on a good day on a bad day, but can be your worst enemies and you’ll be wanting to throw a little thing on a bin, but they are worth it. Putting the effort in for the good days with that two speed transmission when the engine’s bedded in this thing promises to be an absolute screamer handling around the yard. Quite good, yours truly has just got the slight downside. I’Ve got another four tanks of fuel through this but i’m sure another two three months my neighbors will be talking to me again. Toch. I will be putting those next few tanks of nitro through the car over the coming day and fingers crossed. We will be able to run the car flower over the weekend.
