LEGO Technic Winter 2021 Wave Reviewed! Just mediocre or excellent?

The brand new tires and it gets four shock absorbers. So for such a cheap set, you get full rc and you get shock absorbers, so it performs in the off road really really well extremely well. This is really really incredible and so and so the off road buggy pretty much doesn’t get any complaints from me. I would say you know it’s a solid set 10 uit 10. It doesn’t have any flaws. The next set i want to talk about is the lego. Technic ferrari, 488 gte. Now this ferrari kind of a split many lego, technic fans down the middle, because many like myself are saying this is a beautiful looking car. This is an amazing car. It just packs so much detail into this technic set, but i’ve seen a lot of arguments for this card that say that it lacks functionality and it has like this giant hole at the bottom, which could easily fit in a four speed transmission, bijvoorbeeld, and the Chassis itself kind of bends a lot so it’s not really structurally reinforced a lot. I think the main issue of the ferrari is the price tag like 170 Dollars, that’s just so steep for pretty much only a display model when you’re paying 170. What you should really be focusing is the functionality, the mechanisms and the authenticity. Ja, this car looks very, very detailed, but even the suspension, bijvoorbeeld, although it doesn’t bother me that much it does bother quite a lot of fans.

The car just sits way too high. Almost like an off roader, instead of instead of being an actual race car, so so the lego technic for ferrari, 488, gte isn’t, widely beloved by all the lego, technic fans and i kind of agree because of the price tag. If this set was priced at maybe like 140 or even 150, you know we wouldn’t be so harsh, but because it is priced at 170 Dollars, then we kind of expect gearboxes and mechanisms and all that good stuff for a similar price tag. Bijvoorbeeld, back in 2017 uh you could get the lego technic air race jet, which was a vertical takeoff and landing airplane. It had a multi, directional gearbox, it had amazing mechanisms and it had power functions. Power functions that was built into the airplane. You didn’t have to upgrade it yourself. It was just super awesome. Zo zo, if you were given a choice to buy either the ferrari or the air race plane, you would probably go with the air race plane. Eerlijk, these small car sets are all fine in a vacuum. All of this is fine, and i do like the way the car looks. Um, i i do appreciate the fake piston engine, bijvoorbeeld, but on the bottom it doesn’t have a differential, which a lot of fans complain about, including myself. Het ding is, you have to keep in mind. One thing these are cheap 50 dollar sets and for cheap 50 dollar sets these uh the mclaren santa gtr, along with the jeep wrangler, are really awesome sets. Echter, when you look at the wave as a whole, i feel like past years, bijvoorbeeld, in the lego, technic 2015 winter wave we’ve got the 80 set arctic truck. Now that architect truck was honestly much better than any of these cars. It had so much more functionality and you could upgrade it with power functions. You could buy the power functions accessory box. Put it in the power functions motor the switch the battery box itself. You could motorize that set. It was just super awesome, super fun to play with, but with these cars, but with these cars you really can’t do much besides, you know just playing with them. You know normally one major complaint about this whole wave i have is that none of these sets not a single one of them, not ev, not even just one comes with a driving ring or a gearbox of some kind, a few years back, even as early as 2017 in the winter wave we always got sets with gearboxes sets that were either upgradeable or sets that came with power functions itself.

That was just super awesome, but with this wave, with the exception of the off road buggy, Natuurlijk, none of them are motorized or designed to be easily motorized, and none of them come with a manual gearbox and i’m, not saying a speed transmission gearbox, necessarily to Get two speeds in the car i’m, just saying a gearbox that switches between the functions, for example in the arctic truck. You had an axle that could spin and essentially when you spin that axle the power would pass through a gearbox and the driving ring would either select this function or this function. So essentially from one axle you could do. You could independently control either this function or that function. We need to see that kind of gearbox. That kind of let really basic gearbox, be brought over to more lego technic sets, i think the set that really really stands out from, especially the ten dollar sets of lego technic. Is this air race plane? Eerlijk, i don’t have any complaints about the set. It is very playable for only ten dollars. You know you roll it forward the propeller spins it’s, just such an awesome little airplane, and if you’re asking about the lego, technic skid steer loader. I was actually, unfortunately not able to get that set yet. But don’t worry as soon as i’m able to acquire that set on january 1st i’m doing a review that very same day. I want to stress that in a vacuum all of these sets are pretty good.

I love the ferrari, even though it’s not functional. It looks super cool and super awesome. I absolutely love it. I love the jeep wrangler it’s, based on the legendary real life off roader. I really like all of these sets and the monster jam sets especially we’re. Ten slotte, getting a monster jam gravedigger, set with pullback and we’re, also getting and we’re also getting the monster jam max d. Both of these sets. Both of these cars are really legendary from the monster jam. Monster truck, show it’s super cool, but in a vacuum. If you look at these sets individually in a vacuum, all of them are fine, they’re really good. But if you look at this as one cohesive wave, het is – really not one of the best waves, in my opinion from lego technic in 2017, we got super awesome sets in the winter wave in 2016, we got the heavy lift helicopter with a gearbox, as well as The power function system and in 2015 we got some amazing winter sets too. So i want to see some of those sets like maybe with the basic powered up battery box, as well as the medium motor from powered up it doesn’t even have to have a rotation sensor. I just want to see it spin indefinitely and control some functions with the gearbox. In my opinion, that would just be super super epic and for this winter wave uh. Besides this one set you’re, really not getting that much playability, Natuurlijk, with the jeep wrangler.

Bijvoorbeeld, you can’t make it go off road and you can’t extend the winch and stuff like that, but it’s nothing compared to the playability of lego technic. We used to have in the past so what’s. The final grade of this lego, technic winter 2021 wave well, naar mijn mening, i would give it a b or an eight out of ten, simply because i do like all of these sets in a vacuum. They’Re all very awesome. But if you look at the wave as a whole, like i said you know, they’re not super good compared to the other lego technic waves. I definitely think that in the past we used to have much better winter waves of lego, technic and maybe even some fans would um call it a c wave or a seven out of ten.
