So to do that. I’Ve bought myself. Een van deze, which is a remote control, fitting assembly, and also one of these, which is basically a remote throttle um. So you can see the model numbers on that this guy gives. You is pretty much just a total box. It has no electric start, because this one does not have an actress starts a manual start um. This one does have instructions on how to hook it up. So the hooking up is pretty simple there’s two cables and two why’s. There cables don’t come in the box, so you’ve got to by OAM cables, which are pretty freely available should not be from this kit does not come with instructions, so that’s the reason for making this video. So I talk you through it. I talk myself through it. Eveneens, it does come with this nice instruction sheet. It shot up, shows you all the parts in the kit now this is not instructions again, so let’s see how it goes and do each step, as I see it, the major ones. Eerste, this is available freely online. So let me see if I can focus that there you go so download it from there and then basically I’ll be trying to do this in some sort of an order, and since there no instructions, I guess you know too much about don’t feel like it leave A major portions first yeah, so the first step is to remove the motor calling.

So I do that by this thing calling office now. So I think that the first thing I’ll start with is this guy, which is my manual throttle. You can see it as I twist it back and forth. You can see it moves these cables back and forth, O ja, so they basically need to replace this entire cable assembly and then remove all these cables and then replace with the remote throttle cables which are in their following instructions. So my instructions that I ran, so they should have given instructions with this thing, but I guess they don’t anyway. I’Ll follow along in the diagram, see how far I can get yeah, so that’s six horsepower cell pro Tohatsu. So the first thing I do is to disconnect these guys because they were the ones who go through the throttle function so it’s a way to do that. We’D have to remove these two bolts as well, and you’ll have to disconnect this field hose out here. This one here these cables are the first ones to go. The probably the easiest so I’m going to do is it was my range gently loosen these cables out, basically just fit it on the kids themselves on the mat and then just the nut, so it loose, and this thing should slip right out and then they’ll slip Right out of this thing, so we can see it’s, zoals je weet, let me grab my nice one as well.

Small needs to be God: loosens don’t slips out there you go now they bought. These cables are loose and I basically just take them out of this thing. You need a wrench and you need a pair of pliers, basically I’m grabbing. My pliers it’s, like this thing, is retained by this volt I’ll have to take out the bolts. Oh, they don’t like these things simple. So this bolt needs a 10 socket, so that’s ten socket once it’s loose, it’s pretty easy to pry off, and that is it distinguishes the whole track. So change together these things and these things can come out downwards. So it’s not a problem to take them out. A little bit of fight, but basically there’s other washers and things below this bolt so be careful when taking this out and don’t drop anything, and then this little rod will fall out which is okay. Oh, we can fit it back, er is, a little indent which it goes into and it fits nicely in there and it’s no problem to twist it into this thing as well: dat is, your carburetor so we’re, basically putting it to open and close the carburetor. So that’s your throttle control. Basically so now I’ve got these wires, which unattached they slip down. Vrij snel, so wasn’t a big deal now these wires go around here and they put it in a thing which in disconnect so there you go otherwise are disconnected. We disconnect this fuel clamping thing.

I guess I need my tools. Ik ben., Dus ik ben., using a number 10 socket and then I basically have variable wrench thingy that’s the fuel hose, so I got ta be a little careful with it. I really don’t want to do that. It’S better to like move this out, so the place push this back. They go once it’s free, it’s kind of easy to move. You just have to wiggle it a little bit so basically, a screwdriver flat, bladed screwdriver doesn’t seem to work a lot nicer, Vrijwel. Just takes care of the whole thing and that’s a shield hose disconnected now I can push this fill hose out of the way, because what you’re gon na do is remove the tiller handle so that’s. These two bolts here, which is one here and one here, allowing spot so we’re gon na get those out okay, so the first bolt was pretty easy. The second board is a bit of a struggle. You’Ve got to move this fuel hose out of the way completely and sort of jam. Your rangeand I mean you know socket in there and you can see my socket barely fits and once you do, Hoewel, it’s pretty thick so yeah I mean once you get it out, it’s pretty much just do it with your fingers and that’s. It done so. Two bolts, the second one, is a struggle. Eerste, one is pretty easy make sure you don’t break any of these connectors, though these electrical connectors, Oke, dus ja.

So once you’ve got that on just a question of reaching in there just a fingersand you can save me just doing thatit’s loosening the bolts. This one has been a struggle I’m with pair pliers. It should be pretty quick work, so that’s one boat. Second vote so that’s one boat and then the second load. You can see it coming out and just hang on to this thing because the cutting loose things are like to fly: Oke, dat is, the second boat out, and then things are becoming a bit looser. So you know the throttle cables back and then that loosens up interior, which then can be removed out so that’s the thing separating out there. She goes and you can remove this outer casing as well. This is just a plastic casing, just basically find the seam and then just unstitch it there. You go so that’s what it looks like it’s unstitched. Gradually you know these things. These are keyed, so they only come out one way so make sure it’s perfectly aligned. For you check it out, so you can see the keyway here yeah, so basically it’s like a jigsaw puzzle so basically that push this up into the slot see the slot there. So this thing has to just come out. Dus, Eigenlijk, once you have those free you’ve got a big gaping hole in there and there’s, basically a rubber grommet in the kit which will fit into that thing.

So if you look at the instructions rubber grommet, so this thing goes in there on the floor. So you’re, basically covering this hole with this guy, so honey just stuff it in there rubber grommet goes on pretty tight, goes up pretty fast, that’s snaps into place there. Okay and once this plug is in the rubber thing comes out out to here and that you can put in a storage basically for this thing, it’s got a rubber covering. So this is the same thing from the kit: there’s a bottom and a top. So you bottom and go on the bottom and then drop them on the top pretty much to squeeze it in basically just snaps in place that seals off the handle covers a handle resting place. So that is done. This is this portion here. So next is back a bit just to keep things neat and you just temporarily connect it up just in case. I need to remove it again so I’m, basically just making sort of just a loop connection: Oke, next step, Oke, so the problem is that the next stage I’m going to be putting the bracket string bracket on and the problem is 34, which is to lock washers They’Re, basically not been included in the fact that you can see. These are all the parts which means included and then no to lock, washers included at all fact, ze zijn. Only these nighloks and two bolts and the two washers but they’re, not the locking washers just bought 34.

So what I’ve done is gone out and bought extra pots, which are these gone out and bought two extra lock washers and then I also added two m6 washers, because I’ll need these for basically reinforcing some. The steering thoughts so I’m going to be adding those extra and then I’ve also bought myself. Some some of this stuff, which is locked right, red and that’ll, be used to lock the nuts in. Dus, whichever knots you can see, some of these have been only partially coated, so I’m going to be coding, the all of them, then these came coded from the factory, Dus je bent., basically putting thread Locker on the nuts which need them and yeah so take out the String part such as one and two, both of them and then two of my new lock washers and two washers, and that should be enough to get the steering in gear. So let’s do that. So this is the second part of steering the steering attaches to these guys. So what I’m going to do is basically put the steering hose on it. You can see it is pretty good and then all we do is basically put the nuts and bolts in so that’s what it so basically inserted. The thing you can see focus yeah. So basically it is not first lock washer and then the flat and below is basically the nighlok so that’s about it. For the steering controls, I’ve tightened the bolts down, as you can see and I’m using a number.

Sorry 12 inch socket with this thing, so you can see the boats in here go inside. So when you get to the end, all you have to do is push stop it on top hold on balls, so that’s done we’ll move on to this piece now. This is the bracket for the streaming cables, so what I’m gon na do is it looks like it. This is two six screws bolts on the side here goes on this side here, dus eigenlijk, shot in here looks like another boat is coming going into the second piece, so maybe I’ll do this guy as well in order to fit this you have to so. These comes with lock washers these two, wat prima is. These two go in here, so the first one is empty, dus dat is, fine that goes into the handle here and then this one has a little rubber stopper. So what you do is you put one of these and stab it into the bottom part of this guy and that’ll pop out the rubber washer and there it goes so that gives you this thing clear and then you just go insert one and insert two and Then they slide in pretty neatly. These are number tens, so just use basically just use a socket just stick them in. So what you also need to do is once these two have gone in let’s. Take a regular, not not the nylon, karate and clip it in to this guy here and so that locks this guy into place because there’s no locking mechanism out there, so you can see it and then the nut goes in and that locks the top assembly in Place so once you’ve done that that’s what it looks like it’s gone in there for the outside, keep in mind, you have to use the to lock washers.

I bought em sixes, otherwise they’ll be a gap here. Dus, Helaas, given the wrong sized balls in the kit, so what you end up with a gap in the front and these two lock washers fill the gap nicely. So when these are tightened down, tighten these down so they’re, behoorlijk solide. You see the two lock washers are squashed flat and out here. The lock washer is also squash flat. Ja, so is hell pretty solidly, wat jammer is. They should have giving a little bit small screw out here, Ja. So the next step after this now that our attach the bracket it’s nicely attached out here, you can see that knot is also nicely attached. What we’re going to do is fix this guy. Dus eigenlijk., this guy is this screw, and this bolt which goes in there. It goes in there and it snaps into place there’s this thing which snaps into place, and then this odd metal part is the one we need to screw in so find the hole in ego, and that should I say, tighten this up should be good. It’S got thread lock on it, so should be good and orange. It is hard tighten by hand because it does have to thread lock on it. So it’s a bit of pain. You can see it’s sort of sliding in, but it is great in slowly and I’m. Forced to do it partially behind because of federal approaches, and you can see it’s tight, so many do shifted.

It shifts about the gear lever which is in front it’s, neutraal, het is, reverse front forward that shifts this guy, so it’s doing a good job. Just to top make sure you know forward reverse neutral there you go that’s your verse yeah. Dit is mooi.. This is in all the way you can see that’s your selector, which is fine as it is, and we proceed on the next step. One other thing to keep in mind is that type 3300 cables we’ll be attaching to these once you got everything all set, so you need type 3300 cables which are not included in the kit, so that’s again, another additional cost item yeah. So we have to disassemble this guy, so what I’m gon na do is pull something out and in case pliers, this guy is annoying because it’s a once it comes out it’s. Eigenlijk, this guy it’s got like a little thing at the end, which prevents it from coming out and that it’s got this blocking thing anyway, you have to grip it with the pliers on this edge and basically yank it till it comes out that should leave you With a nice hole out here, dat is, where your control cables coming from is to install this assembly, this guy, which basically looks like this in the kit. So what you’ll do is you’ll squeeze this together? Oh, it squeeze nice in shape so that moves this guy out and you can see how it rotates freely.

So what you’re gon na do is rotate. This thing fix it into the slot, so you’re gon na fix it into this lot out here and what it and lock it in place looks like is this guy? Is your eye positioned like this? This is what my 3300 cables are gon na go in. So I rotate it and then latch it in push it in turn at 90 degrees and snap it on these back. You can see these back things which basically prevent it from going any further out so basically locks into place here, and this is a control cable. So what it does is it basically locks the control cable from rotating out, and these two depends lock the pin from exiting the assembly and then it’s very easy to disconnect the control cables. All you do is push this in push this one in and then unlatch to difficult. So you place the control cables so that’s what it should look like at the end of it, so the next part is going to be assembling the throttle lever again. Dit zijn 3300 cables that you need to buy separately. Majority promotin let’s go just buy it so it’s. Gelukkig, all these parts are separate, otherwise it’s a nice metal let’s get it out of the way of all these other parts. So they come in a separate kit. Really useful so we’ll assemble these us both at and then got assemble this end, which is basically this guy right here, Ik ben., not show you how to put it together.

This guy goes like this. So basically we have this plastic bolt, which is blue. One goes here. We have washer, which goes in the Anderson, steel washer. We have a nighlok board which goes on the end of this guy. I really how the voltage comes in here um, and then we have this long bolt which goes in there. This has basically a lock washer. It slides right in and then there’s this rubber washer and then a little plastic sleeve, as you can see in the diagram there a plastic sleeve and then this one goes and the inside of them motor casing. And then we have this. One plastic thing is it’s. Keyed, zoals je zien, so it only goes in one way and locks it in place, and then we have this tree, another washer at the back and another nighlok bolt at the back, and then these guys from focus focus. So these guys will be inside the motor assembly, and then this will be. The Artic rotates on bushing is just to keep the plastic from wearing out from metal and, Natuurlijk, this balls everything together. So that is the 3300 would go in here and there’ll. Be a small washer to basically prevent it from rubbing against the plastic here so that’s the assembly, and now we can put it inside a motor slapped it in there I’m just making a finger tight. So you can see it’s in there and you can see this thing rotates nicely.

This is still loose so I’m gon na make it tight once that happens. Eigenlijk, this assembly will rotate around this plastic sleeve that’s in there, so it rotates nicely and it locks in both directions, one and yeah, so the nut fell off anyway. So this is where your thing will go. Your control cables, 33 hundred control cables, go either. This locks and do that now you can see I’ve held the nut down with that I’ve held the nut down with the pliers and then I’m just gon na tighten this thing until it locks in place, basically that’s locked. Zo kunt u zien. The thing is compressed. This is also locked in place. Those contrasts it’s now gon na go more. This thing rotates freely. This one rotates you can see it rotate and see this thing rotates with some resistance, but that’s not much. This one is tight is to take this thing and then position it so that so it looks like this. So what will happen is the three threadlock are the three throttle? Cables will go and fit in here. So what I do is take this guy and then now you’re, basically just tighten this down. I use a socket wrench, Uiteraard, to get a thread locked and what you’ll do is you’ll use. The gold cables go in here I’m going here and then wrap around this wheels as it turns they’ll wrap around one end, go all the way around and then second one wraps around this and go again all the way around the wheel and that’ll set your throttle.

Cables so the two grooves one for each so I select any one at random and put it in line, but that needs to match when it comes on the other side. So it comes on this guy and wraps around this guy that’s. When you’ll do it, you put your throttle cables through the front here, so you can see the little bracket, because these are my throttle cables and they wrap round like this. I finally go around and wrap around and come out. These ends will be the ones which are the gold ones will go on up here and these ends, which are detachable. So these ends will wrap around this wheel. Hier, zich herinneren: het is: a full wrap around the wheel interview, so once it’s tighten up, you can see how it goes and then you just use this. Helaas, it is a bit tedious, but that’s the way. It goes basically grip it and then twist and tightened up until that it goes all the way through it was about halfway through and then you can tighten up with a lot. You can see it’s going out on the other side and then you would wrap this rope around the wheel, so once it’s most of the way through, we can just tighten this nut up. Eigenlijk, just locks it in place, so it won’t move. They go and pull this cable. So pull this cable and we’ll wrap around the wheel and then go into the slot here.

So the back slot can before. Actually you should probably put yeah so the front slot. Can be for the primary and then back slot for the back one so that wraps around that and that goes in there. You can see it’s most of the way through the top one. You can just put a bit of the way through and then do. The same thing is wrap around thing, so the easiest phase just slaughtered from the side and put this up. So what happens is then you get this loop and you pass the loop around the wheel. So once you’ve done that, once you passed around a nut, then it’s fine, it’s it just snaps into place. Eigenlijk, so just follow it all the way around and wrap it around thing, dat is, basically all set, so at least one of them is all set I’m saying your same thing with the second one. You can see it’s looked round all the way and it comes all the way down. The second one just gone much easier. This one I didn’t even need to use pliers for just mention slowly, Ja, I’m doing something like this one I’m, just looking straight around from the sky, Oke, so the next step is to put this bracket in place and bolt it down and then guide this cable Through the bracket, Eigenlijk, the cables come on through here go down. Dus dit ding, if you push it this away, it makes it looser, on the other end say that at the end which I’ve tightened down is tighten now here, this is a carb.

The two cables getting plugged in this goes on the motor edge. They swish those around there into the bracket, so that’s what you want and then there’s the fuel thing which I don’t need for this motor because it already has a filter, she’ll host. So I need to say what to do with those parts that’s. Basically it and you can see the activation of the thing. So when I activate it, this is full throttle forward, and then this goes sit out here that is neutral and that’s neutral here. It’S full throttle forward. So now that’s the end of assembly process other than yeah. There are motor controls, which is this thing, the basically it’s a remote cutoff this. Waarom? I here I’m not going to connect this since I’ll, film and you’ll start motor. I need to go to the motor anyway, so we’re going to leave that out. I also have this partridges remainder left over the handle with two boards. These all been left off. I’Ve got these guys on I’ve got the fuel pump assembly. Ik bedoel, je weet wel.: fuel pump, fuel filter which I’ve assembled but I’m not going to use it because we already have a filter motor. So I think these are for the electric start models and then, Natuurlijk, we’ve got this thing, which is my throttle: Controle, dat is gon na, go on the front of the boat and I’m gon na. Eigenlijk, move put the two cables in here so to remove one screw and second screw and then it’s pretty much slide.

The cables in here there’s a little hole at the back. Oh here it is so that’s the hole there so that’s, where the controls are gon na go 3300 cables which are gon na be in one, which I need to measure the whole boat on works. I was not the last bit left is to put grease. So we remove the grease from front, so I’ll put it back on on the standard mercury marine grease. Goed, this is a sealed. Can so yeah i’ll be greasing the cables just like they will in the beginning? You can see the beginning of the video how much grease they put basically put the same amount and basically grease it up so yeah that’s about it. So I’ve greased it up with this marine wheel, bearing grease which works. Fijn – and I put it out here as wellall the cables are basically greased up and you can see it moves and I love it say the grease up slide in and out and out here. You can see the grease so it’s good for protecting everything. You can see my clutch so that’s in this little slot into this one here the way I would run through my shunt this thing this one will not run to this back. One that’ll yeah that’s a lot better and then this yeah so that’s your support right here. If you line it back where it was all Schneider, thought is pretty much done.

I did add this one. She came off the fuel line just to protect this rod. Dus ik ben., using these ones, which are eighteen feet in my case, but you’re not to measure it for your vessel. Oke, so now I’ve mounted the motor to the boat, Oke, so amount of the motor to the boat. Zoals je zien, and specifically so these things are clips which come out, so what you would do is take this out, make sure that there’s a notch in the cable which release this one fully yeah. So this is not, zoals je zien, that there’s a notch in the cable which fits nicely into this locking bracket walking bracket comes over and there’s little detents out here, so it snaps in clicks into place and that’s, basically the setup. So one here for the switch for this connector I’m, the one at the back for the throttle positions, so they both have the notches fixed. You can see that it ends here as well and that’s it for the cables and later on the electrical cable down amount of the steering, as shown so it locks into place with the half inch bolt with a single spring motion. The main motor steering controls see those clicks onto the steering ledge on the Yamaha, and this is an easy tutorial and that’s what it looks like from the other side, so in case these wires in steering cables. I mean in this waterproof conduit that I just got from Home Depot it’s about 15 bucks for like 6 feet and that’s good enough to hold these cables, hold the power cables and hoses to steering cables which are correct to the motor and the way I cut It so here’s the other end of it and it’s a fairly clean cut and look at the end of it.

It’S cut cleanly. This is the waterproof conduit from Home Depot and the way I cut it with this with this wire cutter, a pipe cutter, so it basically just slides in here into these jaws so like this and basically irritated around, and then it cuts cleanly so just rotate. This thing around it’s got a blade out here: it’s got a blade and it cuts fairly cleanly and it allowed you adjusted for different pipe sizes. If you want to cut like bigger pipes, smaller pipes, yeah so that’s, it cut and that’s it feeding into the boat and then I’m going to route it to as a front helm. Oke, so the first thing to do is to drill three holes for the throttle. You go into place and then the next thing to do is fill this one in bracket and fix the cables. So what you’re looking for is these parts two things with cables and then one spacer? The way it works is shift is at the bottom. Just this guy and then throttle is at the top, which is this guy, so basically screw in the arms and I’ll screw in the cables, and the cables will enter from this side there’s a space for two pins. So this is how the cables fit in it’s got a grommet in the spring loaded grommet. I mean a rubber grommet in the few and then spring loaded washers for the hole, the two things in place.

Let me seal it up. I have that’s it done. He goes fixed again, langzaam, okay to the boat.
