Arrma Typhon BLX 6S V5 – Unboxing my first Arrma!

I finally fell there. I got my first arm on so this is my brand new armor typhoon uh blx, 6s v5 that’s. A lot of letters and numbers um – and this is what you get in the box uh. Of course you get the buggy uh, the slt3 transmitter. You get a pretty pretty decent toolkit uh high speed, gearing the shims that’s, actually yep, Isto é, really nice from our company. Um a lot of shock, pistons yeah. I might have a look at that later because i do think they are a little bit on the soft side. Um yeah, Eu não, know maximum performance. This is so it’s telling me that it’s going to do 113 kilometers an hour um on the high speed gearing 70 miles per hour for the english and americans suggested battery stuff things like that. Pretty good information, um labels, always labels yeah instruction manual um. There was one more sheet, but that was the warranty card and i threw that in the bin, but yeah that’s pretty much it what’s in the box uh. We can have a little bit more detail. Look on the these parts, but that’s gon na be a bit later, we’re gon na start off with the truck itself there. It is i’m just gon na grab you guys in a little bit closer for a better view body. I like this. I haven’t had that on my cars before, but this is my first arma.

I do like that. These are retainers, so we don’t lose the body flips the body’s really nice. I don’t know if i can do a sugar mod on this. I might try it um, but we’ll see. I guess this is a bit something i don’t know if they just sort of missed on, because they’ve got a hole for the antenna right here, but it doesn’t line up with the antenna on here, but just gon na grab. You guys so you get a bit of a closer view, all right so yeah into the details of the car um i’m, mostly gon na try to cover the upgrades from the v4, which is a fair bit. They’Ve done a fair bit of change to this car. So we’re going to start off with with all the firma equipment, so firma and spectrum, so spectrum or arma in this case has installed the spectrum sr 315 receiver, together with the slt3 transmitter um, which also goes in this now bigger transmitter box. For some reason, they needed a bigger one um they have put in a new firm iesc. This is uh yeah 150 amp bsc it’s got a cap pack on which i think is good for anything. Um you’ve got the spectrum s652 servo right here, which is supposedly to be a good upgrade. I don’t really know i haven’t run it yet. Moving on from that, you’ve got the brand new uh exp compatible top plate right here, which means that you can actually fit the exp aluminium center, brace or front chassis brace to that hole.

Ao invés, not that big of a thing um it’s got new design on the a arms maybe downstairs upstairs. I don’t know i don’t haven’t had a normal before probably rare, too it’s got all brand new stuff to be a lot more uh, durable it’s even got a brand new chassis design, which we can just have a quick look like that. I don’t know what that’s my camera didn’t really follow. There yeah yeah, so that’s pretty much the chassis right there um i don’t know what the difference is. Maybe those two guide rails in the so the slotting in the rear there and the slotting for the differentials seems to be a bit different, hum, otherwise yeah. So we can have a look. There is some more things but they’re a bit hard to catch on here. We’Re going to try and move some stuff over, i have slotted in my brand new 4s high voltage battery and nxt power. Desculpa, no! This is not an nxt. This is an ace power, uh high voltage for us 7, 400 milliamp hora. It lasts you a good while, but we’re trying to get a view of here is actually right in here. So this is a part of the new safe d gearing system which they have both on the two out drives front and rear and um on the pinion, which you can sort of see here. Sorry i’ll just remove this we’ll try and get a good view of that.

So right here you can see that there’s a little eclipse there, which is a part of that safety. So these are now keyed in some way: i’m guessing they’re, just not round they’re the same shape as the axle from the motor, which is the spectrum 2050 Kv. Brushless motor in a 40 74 can also a new thing: Eu sou. Guessing it looks pretty new um yeah. That is probably the biggest differences on the v5. I don’t know what my camera is doing right now, it’s moving around a little by itself, all right so a bit earlier in the video i did mention the safety gearing and the slt3 transmitter. I did want to cover a bit more details on that, so i will go into that right now. So this is the safety gearing that arma has put into their new v5 lines and basically, what it means is that they have decoded so the hole, isn’t, a whole round hole, it’s a d shaped hole and on the pinion gears. They have. That d shaped thing and an e clip as an extra. So if you do lose your grub screw, nothing really happens. It keeps going. So if you do use one of these vehicles, maybe have a look at that grab the screw every now and then because you won’t necessarily notice, if you lose it and with the pinion out drives, você pode ver aqui. They’Ve got this little uh, so the safe d, and then you got a plastic thing on here: a safe d with a plastic thing: um pinion out drives so yeah.

These are also decoded, so d shaped holes all with a d, and this plastic cover makes it safe. I think i’ve heard that one before you’ve covered something with plastic and it’s safe, mas sim. I think this is a really good thing that they’ve implemented. It keeps you going even if you grab screws come loose and it keeps everything safe like nothing goes away. You don’t lose anything just because it comes off, which is a really good thing. Está bem. So let’s have a look at this, so this is the spectrum slt3, so secure link technology and a three channel transmitter. You have, É claro, the normal things you got. The steering wheel. You’Ve got the throttle control right here, and this is the third channel, which is a three position, switch with middle being neutral and then we go on and you’ve got the steering, trim and throttle trim and then uh the steering rate. They call it. But we normally call that the steering tool right, eu acredito, and moving on we have some buttons. You have a throttle control right here, which gives you 50, 75 Ou 100 Acelerador, which is really good, é, a really good way to be able to just slow the car down when you’re learning it, and then you have normal and reverse for both throttle and steering And, É claro, the very important off on button pretty much that’s, pretty much it’s, pretty basic controller, but it’s paired together with a sr315 receiver and which is a dsm or the something like that ready receiver, which is uh.

If i understand it correctly, that spectrums Music. Oh anyway, um it’s their telemetries that’s spectrum telemetry. So this one does not have that, but you can with ease just upgrade your transmitter and you already have the receiver for it, which is a good thing, but otherwise there’s a lot more to say about this um. The feel of it’s pretty good uh, the throttle control is good. I probably would have wanted it to be a bit less on the throttle and more like have more control over the brake like normally, you can adjust it with a 50 e um 50 50 e um 70 30 Interruptor. This one does not have that. I do think it would have been a good thing, but it’s not a bad thing. I’Ve tested it out a little bit, i’ve driven a truck um yeah, i kind of like it but that’s it that that is the transmitter all right. Então, looking into the details of what’s in the box, they’ve shims after you’ve run the truck buggy in this case for a while uh you might start getting a bit of slack in the differentials. This is a way of getting away getting that sword and it’s. Realmente, nice of arma to send this with, because i know they’ve had a bit of issues with that. Yeah and they’ve also got an instruction inside it on how to replace it, which brings us to the next detail: hum, Realmente, the instruction manual.

This one contains a lot of good information. They do come online. The biggest thing that i noticed in it is the exploded. Views are really good, but also shows you how arma has created an easy maintenance system for center differential front and rear differentials and the shocks it’s very few screws to take out for each component just to service and maintenance them um yeah, pretty good high speed pinion. So we’ve got a 20 tooth pinion coming with the truck which is uh supposed to take it up to 70 miles per hour or 113 quilômetros por hora, as previously mentioned. They do uh warn about, por exemplo,, running this in a hot situation – climate, not a good idea, hum, they didn’t say too much about the shock pistons. I guess this is a preference thing, Eu sou, a bit surprised because they’ve got a few with no holes at all, which i’m not sure how they’re going to work. Realmente. If you do know that you, you could tell me in the comments but and toolkits you get 1.5 2 ml 2.5 mil three mil and five mil allen keys. Você tem um 17 mil hex uh, Sete, eight and ten mil hexes in this, which pretty much covers everything you need. I think it should covers a lot, but we’ve also got the little one for the little details. You’Ve got, i don’t know it. Doesn’T say on it, but it’s all the small sizes for the hexes too, so it’s pretty good.

That way, i’d probably say. The only thing i would be missing is a tool to adjust links like the steering links and the turnbuckles, but you can’t, você não pode, expect everything.
