Thank you for tuning in this is louis smith. On this episode, we will continue what happened last episode. If you haven’t seen it, we took out this low c5t. We took it to the loves marina here in houston. Texas is a pond where i take the boats and i want to test out the gearing ratio i had in here. But if you have not seen, i will link that video below. If you want to watch, but what happened was i lost? My steering here lost my steering, which caused me in turn to just go straight into the pond and um, and the thing is uh. Luckily, it wasn’t submerged all the way. However, i did check the cylinder and i did all the stuff i normally do. Some people were asking me to make a video about what you do if you do get water in there um. If i make that video it’ll be once i flip this thing again, because this thing has been flipped over multiple times and and a lot of the guys in the leg that happens is a common thing. So, basically, you got to get the water out of the cylinder. When that happens. I can make a video about that, but for now um i wanted to just kind of give you an update of what i’m doing here. Um, the the gearing ratio here seemed to be, if you see in that video um, that it was still, we needed something taller, okay, because this is the vr 40 here which um i want to get the most out of it.
Okay, so i spoke to john from detroit rc and i’m going to go taller on the gearing so basically um black bone gears here. This is going to be a spur gear: 52, i’m running 58, now over there, so i’m, going to drop down to 52 Music and uh the spur i’ll do a 30. again just this is from black bone. So if it’s for black on, i was told, i was also supposed to be running blackboard, clutch bell, uh and in here i have the clutch spell, and the clutch carrier is from rc max, so run that it looks a lot nicer too. So this will go and replace this it’s from a turtle racing. I think here, but yeah we’ll put that in there we’ll do that today off camera. I don’t want to bore you guys and then since i’m doing that i might as well get the diff carrier installed as well. It looks a lot nicer, anyways from modified rc, so yeah i’ll go ahead and put that in there and uh again. I spoke to john from detroit performance, really cool guy knowledgeable and he helped me out a lot so um so yeah so anyway. We’Ll install that right now here and uh see how it performs i’ll. Do it off camera and uh let’s get this thing out. Okay guys so, yes, we got the uh engine out to center diff out and i’m gon na. Take this opportunity to clean it up a little bit.
It’S got a lot of dirt, i’ll get all in there um and then we’ll install everything back on there. So while i do that i’m also going to go ahead and clean this uh br 40 because as you can see, it’s pretty dirty but yeah it’s, a very, very, very nice engine, so i’m gon na get it cleaned up. Take that out and then put this from rc max install this install the pinion gear and then here the center diff. Of course, um i’m gon na go ahead and take this spur out and put this 52 plus these plastic parts here, i’ll replace them with this. From modified rc, so it’ll look a lot nicer after this all installed so yeah, so i’ll go ahead and clean this and build this little center. Diff change the spur and we should be good to go so i’m. Not going to show you guys all that but uh once it’s done, we’ll run the car and see how it runs and then we’ll take it out. Next week too, all right guys. There we have it uh, it’s, all clean now, and the pinion gear has been installed black bone right here. I did that all off camera and then this guy here for modified rc this one. If you’re like me and have never put one of these together, it was a bit of learning curve. Okay, guys because i i i got the center diff uh – i’m – sorry the the spur attached.
Then i had to take it all apart again, because you have to there’s some bearings that go in there and you know i was using the old bearings so anyway long story short. It took me a long time to get this thing together, but now that it’s all together it looks very, very nice, so yeah. So this will go here, of course, and uh yeah, and i also did a nice little clean on the truck so we’ll get this installed here. That’Ll go right: there, Applause, Music, Applause, Music, ah Applause, Applause, Music, Applause, Applause, all right guys! Well, i can’t do a full speed right here: it’s a residential area, as you can see so stay tuned next week, i’ll take it out and uh we’ll we’ll get a good uh run and test out the uh that that gear ratio i got in there, but It was fun uh building it.
