We are looking at the new wl toys, one two, four: zero one: nine now i think they’re marking this up as a 112 scale. If you’re familiar with the one, four four zero zero one that’s a one fourteenth scale, but this is basically a longer wheelbase version of that. There are some slight differences that we’re gon na talk about and the main one, obviously being it’s a lot longer. At the same time as bringing out the zero one, nine they brought out zero one eight as well a nice little desert, buggy i’ve, already reviewed that i’ll leave a link to that at the end of the video uh today’s video we’re gon na get a close Look at this and take it for a run: we’re not speed, checking it because i’ve speed tested them both that’s on the zero one. Eight videos so check that out 30 mile out of the box is really good for something of this price point anyway. Let’S get in a bit closer and let’s, have a look and then we’re gon na go straight out. Take it for a run. So in a box you get nice little transmitter. This is kind of like your generic wl toys transmitter. They work they’re functional a bit of foam on their wheel. There steering trim, throttle um dual rates. You can turn the speed down a little bit and just generally they’re basic. They do the job. A lot of people ask what their mode switches are and on the side that’s, for they do a.
I think they do. A couple of trucks. They’Ve got four wheel, steer so that’s to change the modes before we’ll steer, so nothing to do with uh majority of their stuff anyway, transmitter instructions, uh plastic, wheel, wrench, uh, a charger. These are really good chargers: two thousand milliamp hours, so two amp chargers really good charge up nice and quickly and uh 2200 milliamp hour lipo, the 144 uh. The original one came with a really small thing: it’s, like 1500 milliamp hour, didn’t last, very long, so uh with this you’re. Looking at a good 15 minutes, i reckon maybe just under anyway, so a bit of a closer look at the actual buggy. I know i’ve already said it, but i love the paint on this. That color is awesome. So a really nice design it’s got the anodized purple, shocks, gold and shock towers and just overall fierce it’s really nice. I really like the wheels as well the wheels complement it really well, but yeah nice looking buggy so underneath yours so fully adjustable uh toe and camber on the front. Uh metal drive, shafts metal, diffs five wire servo, not ideal, but again adjustable turn back on your steering there. Something at this price point: that’s, really good and then they’re, not so good. As the es said, i don’t know if you can see that 7.4 volts now going back, referring i’ll keep referring back to the 144, the very original one you could run 3s don’t run 3s on this.
I said it on the video for that. I didn’t recommend it these new esc’s from w toys do not like 3s, you probably won’t even get it going here, just fry it so 2s. Only on this one, big 550 motor, fixed gearing on this. You can’t change position of the motor it’s geared quite high, though that’s, why they do 30 or mile an hour, and these motors do get hot, especially if you go off road with them, so be warned about. There you’ve got adjustable camber and metal drive, shafts again metal diff you’ve got a nice purple. Center drive shaft through there and it’s going to be great for speed, runs on this because you’ve got a really nice amount of room there for a battery that’s. The battery that comes with it and you’ve still got a little bit of space there. So plenty of room for batteries and then a nice little chassis underneath anyway, i’m gon na get the battery charged. We can take it out for a run, see how it gets on so uh with the uh one, two: four: zero one: nine from wl toys. You all commented on my lc racing video, how you thought this little bmx track is awesome, so it only feels right to bring the uh wl toys here, because it’s pretty much the same as the lc racing, a little bit cheaper and but yeah we’re good to Go whatever so this one’s got smaller wheels than the uh lc racing.
It is faster, though um but i’m, not sure the tyre compound is going to be up to the same standard or the same quality as the lc rating, because that is nice and soft. These are soft, but well that jumps nice and not quite as soft, though, although my excuses last time, the track was quite wet. It’S a bit drier today, so this seems to be handling really nice. I think the dog likes that longer wheelbase definitely helps with uh control, oh so, 30 mile an hour at the box on this supplied lipo. That is plenty for this thing. You don’t need any more than 30 mile an hour not on a track like this anyway. So it’s definitely that longer wheelbase definitely got more uh control. I brought some short. I don’t think i brought the 144 down here before, but i have brought some shorter wheelbase stuff and they just spin around constantly like doing donuts because of the uh the slippery surface. But i mean i’m not going stupid fast, but i think after a bit of practice you could actually get a decent amount of uh speed round here. Awesome little truck well done. Wl toys well done. Well, i think they fit the nail on the head with this. One affordable performs well good quality. Every time performs well good quality stuff as well: alloy sharks, oil shocks, so alloy oil shocks, alloy chassis metal, shock towers, awesome, looks and, although it’s fresh, it’s fast Music easy to convert to brushless as well like really easy.
Well that’s. Another thumbs up for me guys for this probably bother me talking about it all right, let’s see how well it jumps. Uh, okay, well, well, there’s your durability, test, guys, first jump or first big jump. First, landing, uh and it’s broken the hub same as the one. Four four say really cheap uh to replace. I am going to take pretty much full responsibility for that. That was a hard landing with the steering turned uh snapped it off. If you’ve seen my 144 video, i took the skatepark, it took an absolute beating so yeah just a bit of bad luck there, but anyway that ends today’s video, which means you don’t, get a nice little montage at the end of some slow mo doing jumps, and I was going to go to skate park to do a durability test after this, however, we’ve cleared that one up in this video cheers watching guys. I’Ll see you next time there we go guys all fixed with a um one. Four: four: zero: zero one steering cup knuckle see what we want to call it two or three dollars that cost you to replace. You can get metal upgrades uh this one snapped across the top, and so i’ll keep the arms plastic and upgrade these to metal so that you got a little bit more strength there, but still some flex in the bottom arm to not destroy anything else anyway. Cheap fix i’m going to now take this to the skate park, to give it a proper durability test, because i think that was just a bad landing.
If you don’t see a video at the skatepark it’s, because i broke it within the first few seconds uh. If not look out for skatepark video and we’ll give this a decent durability test and i’ll see if i can actually land with it, i think we need to get it on. Some speed runs, get some phones on it, get a brushless system in it see how fast we can get.
