What’s the difference between “one way” and “two way”
Great vid! Remote start is something I really miss from my previous vehicle. Although I am very reluctant to mod a new vehicle (TRD OR), this system appears very well thought out and executed. Have you had any issues? This looks like a remote start on steroids. 2000 foot range!! Yowza.

So that’s a first compustar DC3. Sold by this online retailer means there is no warranty when something goes bad because they aren’t a authorized first tech dealer. That’s also not a First Tech TL 5 t- harness. Also aftermarket viper or compustar remote starts never shut off with a standard key. If it’s a push to start a Toyota and Lexus will always shut off since there is no secure takeover. Just be careful to all who buy. If something goes wrong you better hope the third party selling website site got you covered in some way. Also that’s $300 base without long range remotes or drone mobile and comes with probably no warranty also you gotta install yourself. Just go to bestbuy and have their MECP Certified techs install the same system for $300 and you get a lifetime warranty on the labor.
Has anyone tried this with a alarm system? I'm looking to get a 2020 4runner and I have a great alarm guy I'm going to go to. Just wondering if there's any issues with a separate alarm system.
Will it still remote start with any of the doors open?
i have a regular 2018 trd off road that does not have remote start, will this still work on my veh?

mulţumesc!! So thinking about this myself. Jon as a side note; according to Accesorides, the Limiteds (with push button start) will still turn off when you open the door. Not sure if they made a change recently and haven't updated their site but you may want to check into this. Great vid as always.

I have this installed – did it with my electrical overhaul a few months back. I have a good video on it coming as well – after having used it since February – I couldn't imagine life without it! I have the version where you can use the app and it's awesome. I start my vehicle when I land at the airport and it's nice and warm when I get to it, I start it when I get up before I head to the gym and the windshield is defrosted… In the summer, it'll be nice (especially in Florida, Jon!) to start it and let it cool the cabin for 15 minutes… Love it, no issues thus far, I'll make sure I have it on all future vehicles!

Awesome DIY install video! For us canadians remote start is a must haha! I’ve been using compustar remote start with alarm and I fully trust them! Do you know for how long the car runs before it shuts down after you remote start it? I had a 10min timer and then it would automatically shut off! Can’t wait for your next video!!!

Can you use both the OEM key fob AND one of their long range fobs? Or does it have to be programmed to only one or the other?

Right on ! You will love that that’s one of the first mods I did to my runner I put in a viper alarm system with remote start I live in Hawaii where it’s nice to get that A/C blasting before you enter the car ! Great buy
