So if you don’t know what that is erase brushed motors and the first time i was out of the track, i wasn’t that fast and didn’t know it was wrong and the guys taught me how to break in a brushed motor in water. So all you’re going to need is a cup solo cup and your brush motor and a couple towels in case it gets crazy. First thing we’re gon na have to do, is take off the body and then take out the motor that’s in it and then break this new one in, and this does work by the way, the second race i raced there i was way faster. I was leading the race until i got wrecked on the last lap, so it’s payback time this time, but uh it does work first thing we’re going to do here is we’re going to take and unplug this motor. The original one there we go comes out. Super easy plug your battery. In turn, your controller on first, your radio always turn that on first then plug your battery in actually i’m going to unplug the battery first i’m, going to plug the motor in first the new motor that we’re about to break in and plug that in first. So now that that is plugged in actually i’m going to unplug it again pull these wires cables through might give us a little more room here. Usually uh i’ve seen other people do this and they have a separate esc, but i don’t.
So this is how it’s going keep a couple. Towels handy might get messy. Then we’re gon na take the water and we’re gon na place the motor into the water so see that into the cup of water. It goes now i’m going to plug the battery back. In we have power and i’m going to start slowly pushing the throttle, so i started out slow and then, as gon na, have to do this for about 15 minutes and as time goes on, i get faster and faster because if you break the motor in slow It’S going to be slow if you break the motor in slow and then gradually speed up the throttle, your motor is going to be faster, so this does work and uh. I almost won the race in my second race last time and i’m, pretty new to the racing scene, but uh it’s been really fun so far. So if you want to become a part of that check out rc, velo, racers and it’s a group on facebook, we have about four or five races a year in encino california, which is in san fernando valley and it’s a great time so we’re gon na just Keep breaking the motor in here. It takes about 15 20 minutes now, it’s only been a couple minutes and the water is already starting to get really gray. You can’t really see it, but uh it’s, starting to get gray and that’s from all the brushed from the brushes all the dust coming off of it and uh by the time you’re done.
The water is gon na, be pretty pretty dirty and gray. Looking and uh yeah we’ll just keep going here, it’s been about maybe five minutes now and uh keep going for another 10 or so minutes. All right it’s been about another five minutes now and i’ve slowly gradually started to increase the throttle. I know there’s an easier way to do this, but i don’t really know how some people, just they mess with the multi function knob on here and somehow they get the throttle to stay on without holding the trigger. But this is the stock, two wheel drive slash and it only has the steering trim knob on there. As you can see, a lot of people are telling me to get the futaba, but at this point i’m just running one car and this thing works fine. I almost won the race last time and uh the motor break in did all the help and i did lower the truck quite a bit as well uh in between my first and second race and lowering it and breaking in the motor made all the difference. My lap times were three to four seconds faster, which is huge and uh. I was leading the whole race of the a main until the last lap, so i’m gon na keep going with this and uh at the end, when i’m close to being done i’m going to full throttle it a little bit and water might spray everywhere.
But oh well, it’ll make the motor faster all right. Bine, Sunt.. Gon na start increasing the throttle a little more now we’re on about half throttle. If i do go full throttle, water is gon na go everywhere and i’m just gon na do that once or twice. But if you run it at half throttle and add a little over half now it should break the motor in good enough to be fast because, if you’re, just at the low rpms the whole time, the motor is going to be slow and i’ve tried. Bine, many racers at our track have tried the mud boss broken in motors and they were no good for what we were doing. We are it’s it’s, basically like the talladega of rc races and you’re full throttle the entire time, so the mud boss, guys they’re, usually rational racing on short dirt tracks and uh doesn’t, require as much throttle. We are full throttle the entire time, so different classes go faster. They have to let off, but we in the sportsman slash stock modified do not have to let off so here we go increasing it. A little more water’s overflowing a little bit, it’s all good and we’re about 13 minutes into it. ştii, doesn’t have to be exact. Um also, first run that i did at the track after i broke in my motor. It was fast and then my second run was even faster and it just got it keep it kept getting faster and faster each run, and by the time it was the amane.
I was out front leading the whole race and i had the fastest lap time of the day, so it does work. I know i said that a lot but people, even when i first they told me to put it in water. I thought they were crazy, but this does work and i’m just uh starting a channel here. If you can help anybody uh. You know i’ve been at this for quite a while now and i started the hobby when i was a kid but uh i got out of it and uh got back in it. When i was about 25 and then i bought a traxxas, slash 4×4 and from there i’ve gotten about 11, more rc’s and uh, so this channel is basically just to uh help people if they run into some of the same problems that i did and little tips And tricks just for fun and uh i’ll be having a lot of videos of the race track and um bashing and crawling so a little bit of everything for this channel here. în regulă, we’re gon na keep going here and we’ll be back in a minute. în regulă, we’re, almost done here, we’ve got about three minutes to go. I’Ve increased the throttle. A little more water is overflowing it’s just getting on the towel, so it’s, not that bad, but yeah water is looking really dirty, so that’s a good thing: Aplauze muzicale. Oh all right that should probably do it here.
I will show you how gray the water is a lot of it splashed out, but we were at it for a good 15 yeah about 16 17 minutes, so we’re gon na check it out now. All right here is the water completely dirty gon na take the motor out and uh just set it down here on the towel that’s. What your water should look like completely gray. You could see a lot of the dust on the side of the cup, so there we go done with that. Now we uh dry everything off a little bit, not on the wheels just a little bit no big deal so i’ll show you the car it’s a stock. Slash and uh got the transponder in there. I think it’s a my lapse or, if i forget the name of it, sorry about that, but um yeah here’s, the body. I got it off of a main just type in slash modified body. It was a little bit of doing to uh, get this body cut out and put together. Painting was the fun part, but yeah here’s the race car. This is a from crazy dave’s. This bumper here crazy dave’s rc racing and i was in a huge wreck. I lost one of the bolts there, but uh find something to make it work or just run without it it’s fine with it. Without it last time and uh yeah so stock esc, you can change the transmitter out and but i just left it stocks i’m running the stock, radio and uh.
When i do, if i do get a couple, other race, Masini, Uh, i’ll, move this transponder up here, because if you are in a photo finish – and your transponder is up here and somebody else’s is back here, person who has it towards the front will win. So all right, nu e, a race, car and um yeah gon na install the motor. Now all right, so i installed the new motor after we broke it in and there it is all in ready to go. Tighten the slipper a little bit loosened it a little bit. Adjusted it checked it out, just for the we do standing starts so got ta, get it just right to not spin out on the start and not to be too slow so there it is all installed ready to go. I like to put it that way: upside down and uh yeah, so um. We are now ready to go and uh yeah like and subscribe i’m gon na be doing all different kinds of things on this channel, like i said before, it’s not just gon na be a race channel. It’S gon na be a little bit of everything. Just got a new udr, so i’m gon na do some videos on that and some crawling videos.
