I wanted to go over some upgrades on the mp9, so basically, where i’m, at with the mp9 is i’m going to full kit um. The only things left on this car that are going to be stocked from the box are going to be the servos and maybe a handful of hardware screws, um left, but basically for the mp9 um. Let me show you so i did a test fit already and the upgrade i just put on the car. I got to do the other side still, but i’ll show you. The difference is the offset aluminum uh rear hubs, and with that i put on um 94 millimeter axles from the mp10 and they do fit. They work great um they’re, not too long um. I haven’t tested the the axles with the narrow setup. You know what the with the pills inward um, but on the far outside for both front and rear. The 94 millimeter axles do work, but i don’t plan on never really going narrow and if i do, i do have extra axles um to go narrow, anyways. So not a big deal, but yeah i’m, pretty stoked about that upgrade and just to show you the difference: what the 94 millimeter axles aluminum hubs and that’s the stock rtr stuff, so we’re getting rid of this stuff, um and we’re upgrading uh. So what else am i going to upgrade on this car i’ll show you you see here on the side i’m, putting a mp9 kit chassis onto this car as well.
I bought this used for really cheap it’s got plenty of life on it, and i already made the modifications i already drilled. The 12 millimeter hole – and i kind of grinded down right here, just just in case, so the clutch bill would uh clear that and the reason why on the kyo shows mp9s uh the chassis flex, quite it flexes quite a bit even with the rtr chassis um. cred, being a little bit more rigid than the kit um, it even flexes and i still had to drill the hole but uh i’m gon na go ahead and uh go balls to the wall going all out. I’M gon na put uh the kit stuff on this rtr, so i think this would be a great upgrade to the car and uh i’m looking forward to it um nothing against the rtr stuff, but this car has been absolutely amazing for me and over a long Period of time it didn’t really hurt the pocket all that much to do these upgrades – and i just wanted to show everybody that this car is the perfect car to start out with and just upgrade as you go in the long run. Is it more expensive yeah but um it gets. You involved right right now doing the hobby enjoying it and you kind of get sucked into it and you just enjoy it. You love it. You know if i’m, that guy who’s just getting into the hobby – and i got ta – save a ton of money to get just to get a kit and a motor um.
That person will probably get turned off and give up halfway through the build process. So once again, i’m all for these cars – and this is a what two versions now we got tki two mp10 mp10 and then we got the mp9 tki4 before that. So this is three generations old now but it’s on a great platform, a proven platform you’re not gon na be uh, far behind and uh for me, it’s great i’m, a new guy in the hobby and uh, or at least the 1 8 scale racing side of It and uh i’m having a blast so uh. I think the cars turned out really really nice. I got my little new body painted body here but uh. I want to show you what it looks like before. I put this chassis on so we’re, going with the new chassis new to me, chassis and uh for upgrading the rear, uh pubs and axles, and i take that back i’m putting four new axles all around the car, de 94 millimeters and uh what’s on here now. I’M gon na keep us for spares um. I have the 93s in the front and i got the stock dog bones in the back. I probably will never use those again but i’m gon na keep them in my spare box, just in case i run into another guy out there on the track, who happens to have an issue: i’ll have those parts for them and i’ll just give it to them Kind of support, those guys who are just getting into the hobby but uh i’m gon na go ahead and get this thing swapped over to this other chassis and uh Music, Muzica, Muzica, Muzica, do Music, my Music what’s up everybody, so we finished that chassis swap let’s Check it out boom.
Look at that pretty awesome. So why did i switch over? To be honest, i didn’t have a good reason to switch over. I just did it because i wanted to um the more i take this thing apart, the more i learn, the better. I get at it so when i’m at the track – and i have problems, i know exactly how to disassemble the car the quickest and most efficient way possible. More practice, the better off you are um there’s, nothing wrong with the stock rtr chassis um. So i will keep that as a spare and yeah. Deci, while doing the chassis upgrade, i went ahead and put 94 mp10 axles in the car front and rear you can see here and the reason for doing that was to put the rear aluminum hubs on so new rear aluminum hubs with new axles all around axles. Once again are the 94 millimeter mp10 axles and they fit wonderful. Let me get you guys a close up to get an idea of the clearance they have now drive cups, so that’s suspension, fully droop in the rear, ok, let’s go down and then fully compressed kind of a bad angle there, dar uh da. You got plenty of room. Let me turn this just a little bit, because there we go once again fully compressed fully drooped compressed droop. în regulă, let’s do the front since we’re here there’s your front. Try to get a good angle on the front here, fully compressed droop, în regulă, so good, stuff here very, very stoked about these upgrades.
These upgrades should make the car handle pretty well or at least more durable in this case, but uh yeah guys all those uh. The chassis no problem swapping it over and uh new axles, new hubs, it’s looking good. This thing is ready to race um.
