New Year, New Look… | Axial SMT10 Gets a Black Market RC BRD Chassis | Overkill RC

Now i have my work cut out for me in today’s video. This is the black market, rc brd chassis it’s, a 1 10 Scară, aluminum solid axle, rc monster truck chassis kit in this video i’m. Going to carry over all the parts from my axial smt 10 chassis over to this brd chassis – i have my axle set aside here – went through freshen. These things up made sure everything was tight, tried to clean them up, get them ready to go for 20. 21.. I replaced a couple screws and i think, a bearing transmission. I just cleaned up on the outside, because i went through that a couple months ago. I also went ahead and i painted a few components. Black. I took the 3d printed collector headers that i got from the shapeways website and painted those black just to get them to stand out from the chassis. I also touched up the front and rear servo savers, so here’s all that’s left of my original smt 10 chassis left all the hardware on there. My custom sway bar mounts receiver box sponsor plates and everything i’m definitely going to keep it around to either convert back to it or base another build off of it. Maybe you guys will see this thing again sometime, but for now i’m going to set it aside. Deci, with this vrd chassis kit from black market rc uh, you get both sides of the chassis. You have an electronics tray to mount your esc receiver and then the battery back.

Here you have a smaller plate to mount your transmission and motor. You can adjust pretty much everything on it. The shocks, sway, bars and suspension links are all tunable, and then you get a bag of hardware that comes with a bunch of standoffs and cross members. You got a variety of screws and nuts in there that are going to be used to assemble this chassis. You also get a wheelie bar, which i don’t have at the moment, that’s still being sent out. I think that gets you guys up to pace and covers pretty much everything i’ve been up to up until this point now i’m going to go ahead and start to assemble this brd chassis Music. I ended up installing the limiting straps sway bars, the body mounts and then the exhaust headers off camera. Then i finished up everything else: the axles and transmission. I just threw that in, like you guys saw on camera. I just needed to try a bunch of different screw sizes and positioning with the mounting holes and just get some stuff sorted out, so i could come back on camera and actually know what i’m doing so. These stock, smt, 10 sway bars actually will not fit this chassis. Unless you do, some modifications had to actually shave down a bit of the plastic arm right on the corner here. So now it fits, but it slides back and forth a little bit because i shaved off a little bit too much.

I also mounted the front and rear limiting straps. Now these are just for looks but it’s something i definitely had to have and wanted to carry over. For my smt 10, i thought i was going to have to drill holes to mount these in the chassis but turns out there’s, actually some holes right where i needed them. I mounted the headers just with another screw and not it’s, only actually holding one side in but it’s tight enough to where it won’t pivot whatsoever. So the body post installation was pretty straightforward, just use some screws and knots in the back. I used one of these spacers that were included with the chassis. I just stuck that in there and then the bottom ones just keep the whole thing from rotating once again just screws on one side and nuts on the other, to mount the shocks i used. Four more of these spacers that were included with the chassis seems to work out pretty well now before i install the rest of the electronics and cross members i’m going to work on a few other things. First, i think i’m going to install these crawford performance and engineering 3d printed. Bead lock rings on my proline racing. Brawler wheels probably just super glue these into the wheels and then, after that, i’m gon na work on the battery tray. This is a techno v3 universal battery tray. So i think that pretty much covers everything. I worked on off camera, Muzica, Laughter, Muzica, hey guys, so i just finished up the build.

I got the body mounted up, painted up and ready to go. The way the truck sits right now is how i’m gon na run it for its first test drive. The body is a proline racing, jeep comanche, so i custom painted this body myself. I wanted to go with an overkill rc theme, so i put a couple of overkill rc decals on the side. You can see the logos these decals are available through teespring in a variety of different sizes. Moving under the body. You guys saw me assemble most of this chassis on camera. As i was mounting the techno v3 universal battery tray, i ended up having to hold half the battery tray in with a couple m3 screws and nuts just fed two of the screws through these stock mounting holes in the techno battery tray straight through the electronics mounting Plate in the chassis and then i have a nut on the other side holding everything together and then the other half is being held in temporarily with the tlr battery straps. As far as everything else goes, i changed up these shock. Setup i’m still running the proline power strokes. I think this was my first time trying out both the upper and lower green springs. At the same time, i also drilled out the holes and the pistons a little wider just to allow more fluid to pass through and hopefully make the suspension set up a little softer as well and then i’m running some 25 weight.

Tlr shock oil i’m going to run the truck this way for now, but as far as the suspension setup goes i’m, not sure if this is going to be a long term solution. Other than that, i think this truck is set and ready to go. For its first run. We have at least a foot of snow on the ground, so i’m, not sure if i’ll be able to film the first run video anytime soon, but definitely stay tuned.
