Welcome back to the channel in today’s video. I will be doing some scale accessories to the axial scx 24 jeep wrangler, so in the previous c10 build if you haven’t seen it check it out right here. Well, anyways in that build. I had many scale accessories done to it and that video was pretty popular, so i thought it might as well do another one, and in that video i had a snorkel which i purchased off, of etsy, similar similar to this one um. It was uh sold to me by adaptive designs, and so i liked the product so much that i decided that in this entire build um. Ninety percent of everything that’s going to go on the truck right now is uh built by adaptive. Adaptive designs so right here, uh, there is kind of like a slot. I don’t know if you can tell the body kind of makes a little indent right here so i’m, assuming that’s, where it’s gon na go, we don’t want to cover up the sticker. So you pretty much just hold it right there and i am going to get a marker, make a little dot that didn’t really work there. We go there’s a little bit more of a mark, so i have my little mark. It doesn’t have to be precise, um yeah i’m, just gon na drill out it very carefully Applause. So there we are got our little hole in there and so provided is this little mount? I believe you simply line up your hole all right, so i have my screw through my little snorkel now i’m just going to attach it to the body through the body.
I can feel it now we’re going to use this little mounting piece i’m going to attach it inside the body, so it grabs on to the screw in there. So there is the finished product of the snorkel, and so it just simply screws onto the outside. With a 7 64 bit, you drill, through the body, put the screw through the north through the snorkel, and then you come on the inside of the body, and the little mounting piece goes on back here and you’re all set, and so that is the snorkel that Legit took two minutes install pretty simple design all right, so the next thing i want to do is the rear tire mount so that mounts on through this body mount back here that uh axial provides you with. It connects the um. I guess the frame mount to the body it’s, pretty simple design, it’s, really four screws in and out, and then we just kind of put the new one on top. So these four holes right here gon na line up with those four we’re gon na use our old screws, and it should be pretty simple, so there’s that back plate. I was telling you about so it simply pops off and put that to the side and we get our new one and we’re going to screw in those four screws into those exact spots, and they should line up perfectly so i’m having a little bit of a Difficulty attaching that, with all this going on so i’m, just gon na do undo these two screws, and it should allow me to remove this piece and do it a little bit easier.
So i had some troubles getting the screws through this little part. So i got a 1 16 drill bit and i kind of made my hole right there and i put my screw through there make sure it didn’t fall through, and so it fits perfect, so i’m just going to drill out the other three holes to open them Up a little bit more so i can get my screw through through it. So here is the after. You can definitely see through the holes a little bit more, which should allow me to get my screws in a little bit easier mm. Hmm, it takes a couple minutes to do no big deal all right, so there we are drilling out those holes was uh was the thing i needed to do definitely helping out all right. So now all four screws are in now we’re gon na put the jerry. The cans in the gas cans one on the left, one on the right personally, i believe that these will fall out. So i just like to get my handy dandy, hot glue, gun and we’re just gon na glue those bad boys in there let’s get a little bit of glue right here in the bottom, probably already too much so i’m. Just gon na glue it in there like that, there’s our tire mounted on the truck looking good it’s on there pretty well that’s the back of the truck. So i definitely like that that actually adds a lot of skill, realism and i’m liking that all right, so the next thing i want to do is add the rock sliders on so here are the rock sliders.
They add. What does it see on here? I can’t read it one quarter ounce of weight to each side of the truck, so they go on facing up. So this great part, you should be able to see it when you put them on correctly. Okay. I guess you could kind of put them on like that. I think i prefer that let’s see if you can’t put them on that one – hmm that’s. What i want. I think i want them on like this i’ll see if i can mount them on like this. All right, so there are four screws right here on the frame: it’s, pretty simple one: two, three four, you unscrew those four you line them up with a with your rock slider. I wonder if they can go both ways. Look like it line them up. You put them on so i install i uninstalled four screws right here and so the two longer ones go on the outside and the two shorter ones go on the inside. Just note that when you’re disassembling your truck so i wan na, i want it to look like this, so we’re gon na see if these these holes line up all right. So there is the rock slider installed. I believe it should be installed upside down with the weight pointing up, but i don’t like the way that looks so i kind of flipped it backwards and i think it looks cleaner. It did take a little bit more muscle to install than i thought it would.
Uh, but i made it so now i’m just going to repeat the same process on the other side, so i installed the second side and i probably did this in probably half the time i did this one. I think i think it was so quick because i did the the two screws on the inside first and then i did the two ones on the outside, because with these links they kind of move around they’re kind of hard to line up so doing these two In the middle and then having it stable and then moving the links to these points is a little bit easier than mounting on a moving point um and trying to line everything up. So if you’re gon na do this, do the two in the middle first and let you on the outside and you’ll: do it a lot easier? So there are the rock sliders so it’s all coming together, um i’m gon na go with the mirrors. The rear view mirrors, so i believe i do have to drill again um this time. I’M gon na use a 1 16 does. It believe it’s, a 1 16 yeah i’m, going to use a 1 16 drill bit to drill uh these holes for these mirrors, because they’re a little bit smaller. These screws are so small that i don’t even have a tool to screw them so i’m, using the screw. That comes with my eyeglasses, so uh i tried it already out.
I tried it out already works perfectly fine, so we’re gon na drill out those holes and then we’re gon na drill in these mirrors. So it should be perfect simply just going to feed it through there i’m going to grab this small little nut. I don’t think i’ll be able to hold it, that’ll be quite challenging, so this will be a challenging part. I’M. Just gon na hold it there, oh and then drop so yeah. This may take a minute, so it took me a couple tries, but i was able to get those two connected now i’m, just coming in here with my glass tool and tightening things up there. We are it’s on pretty tight, pretty good placement. If you ask me adding some more scale, realism to the jeep, so i’m, just gon na repeat the same exact process on the other side. So what we got going next is the roof rack and so, like uh, the spare tire mount the holes really aren’t, the cleanest, so i’m gon na go in there with a little 1, 16 and we’re going to drill them out and then we’ll start marking up Our holes up top and we will get this thing – mounted there’s one so i’m gon na get this one mounted first, so i can hold it in place and then the other ones don’t really move so that’s. Really all it took so provided with the roof. Rack are these little guys and these things are small af and be very careful with these.
So the same thing, i think i need to use my eyeglass tool to get these little screws in they’re going to be very careful holy moly things are small and i made the holes too big, it’s, okay, i have plenty of spare screws in the toolbox. Let me go grab them so after messing around with this roof rack for maybe 10 minutes, i really can’t mount it on with any of the screws i have. They just seem to be too small, so i’m, just gon na grab our friend the hot glue gun and hot glue. This bad boy there’s a good section right here, where you can fill in with some glue so now i’m just going to line it up. Okay, so i put all the adaptive designs: 3d parts on on the jeep. Now i put the body back on uh. It took me about an hour wasn’t too long kind of meticulous, but i just wanted to go over the truck, so there is snorkel and that’s the newer snorkel version there’s an older one. It has kind of a circle on top there’s that pretty easy, that’s, probably about five minutes. The mirrors left and right mirrors probably took me about 10 minutes to put on they’re just the screws are so small it’s so hard to get them lined up, but i got it. There is the roof rack. I was having troubles um because i kind of used a drill bit not probably a drill bit that was too big that probably messed up things, so i couldn’t really screw in my screws.
So i ended up just gluing it up top i’m, not too worried about it falling off. It falls off just glue back on back here around the truck. We did, the spare tire mount and the gas cam mount. It ties into the axial body mount that uh comes with the truck, so you just kind of replace that guy. That was probably about 10 minutes and then down on the frame of the truck we put. The rock sliders that are weighted also so add a little bit of weight to the truck down low and i’m pretty happy with the way this look. This truck looks the only downside so far that i’ve noticed is. I can’t really open the body all the way, because the spare tire is hitting the back bumper, so i’m definitely have to look into something there. Maybe i can raise it or flip it or just get rid of it entirely. I still kind of like the way it looks so we’ll see how that goes, but now um we’re, just gon na put on the scale accessories that i got from the main. So these are scale by chris and so it’s uh an ice chest, a six pack and then a keg. So here we are, i mean the keg is pretty big compared to the ice chest. I don’t know if this is all scale, but the six pack looks about right skill size. So i don’t know how i want to do this.
Um i’m gon na take a minute, see how i want it and then we’re gon na get this thing on the road. So i’ve come to the conclusion that i will be mounting the keg laying down and the six pack on top of the ice chest will be rolling like that. I know it’s – probably not the best, but i really don’t have anything to load up on top of here and i don’t plan on it um. So simply just gon na glue the six pack on top of the ice chest and the ice chest next to the to the keg i’m, just gon na mount it like that. We’Re gon na run it, and so the reason why i’m, okay, with this it’s, just it’s just hot glue. So if i wan na take it off the future, just take it off rip, it off grind it down no big deal, and so there is the complete truck with all the scale accessories i’m loving. This look definitely looks a lot more real um compared to what it was 10 15 minutes ago, so i’m pretty excited to go out right now and uh go run in the backyard, because this thing’s looking sick, holy crap alrighty. So here is the finished product um. This is all the scale accessories that we’re going to do to this jeep wrangler. Most of these products are by adaptive design. So if you want to check them out the links in description i’m not affiliated with them at all i’m, not getting paid at all.
Just like his products and if you like them, definitely check them out so adaptive designs created what the snorkel the roof rack, the rock sliders, the rear view mirrors and the rear rack for the spare tire and the gas cans. Only thing that’s, not adaptive designs – is the scale by chris accessories, which are the six pack the ice chest and the keg overall i’m liking the look of the truck. It definitely feels a lot more top heavy, so definitely have to add some weight down below um, but overall, pretty excited with the way it looks, looks a lot more real. So now i got this bad boy in low low gear and we’re just going to crawl right here in the backyard real, quick just to see how it performs Music. So one thing i’m noticing it’s one thing i’m noticing while driving it is that all this added weight back here with the tire and the cans and everything it’s definitely uh, hindering the incline like it’s, pretty steep check this out. Applause, oh made it up wow. So there is our first tumble, so i’m gon na cut the video right there. Right now it seems like the steering servo and the steering arm seem kind of delayed or that they’re not responding as well so i’m definitely have to look into that.
