Speed runs with it now i actually did that myself with the intention to go really fast. I did do a speed run and it really wasn’t that impressive. Now this is because i really don’t think this is the best chassis for it. I know there was a bit of a challenge to see who could actually reach 100 miles an hour. First, a lot of people, including myself, are struggling to even get this thing up to 50 miles an hour, which is why, when i did the initial review video, it was a really good capable drift machine. So i thought to myself. This thing is brushless. Why don’t? I stick the stock shocks back on and the stock drift tyres. The plastic drift tyres actually including the box we’ll see how this performs, because i really do think this could potentially be a really good drift. Uh cheap rc. So i have got a 2s pack fitted we’re going to see how this actually performs on the stock drift tyres with the the brushless conversion really looking forward to this, because i think this is going to be a lot of fun and if i’m right. This is going to be a great way for someone to get into rc drifting on a really really good, cheap, tight budget. So i am using my dumbo rc transmitter and receiver set. This is the one with the inbuilt gyro it’s, exactly the same one that i used when i did.
The speed runs so i’m hoping we can keep the little sg 1603 uh nice and stable i’ve got the mavic mini out today, so you’re going to get some nice aerial shots as well of the sg in action, so let’s get down to it. Let’S, do it let’s see how the sd 1603 performs brushless with the included stock drift tyres – hey foreign, oh great right, then so i have been running for about 20 minutes. This thing is turning out to be a lot of fun. It really does help having the the gyro on the uh, the dumbo rc transmitter, and i have got it set to halfway and that’s definitely helped me today to try and keep this thing stable with the 2200 milliamp 2s. That i’ve been running about 20 minutes. Run time so far, it’s still got more to give but i’m going to call it a day there because uh, this tiny little motor is getting quite hot uh, not hot enough to cause damage, and i have been really pushing this little thing. But yeah a lot of fun and i definitely think this is the way forward now upon recently checking as well. They do actually sell a ready to go brushless conversion for the uh for the sg 1603 1604 um, which will enable you to use your stock leds. That’S one of the things that was really off putting about doing the brushless conversion on this was losing the the leds, because i think they really do make this thing stand out so that brushless conversion is available is on banggood and i will leave a link in The description below, if you do, want to do a brushless conversion, but you want to keep the leds, the stock transmitter and all that sort of stuff you absolutely can now.
Obviously mine is a slightly more custom setup and this does work for me, but i did build this before. I realized they do a proper brushless conversion, but it’s definitely definitely worth checking out. If you do want to convert yours to brushless, but you don’t want to lose any of the features that it comes with as standard just having that gyro function, as you can see, really does make drifting this tiny little truck so much easier. It really is effortless and smooth having the gyro, and it does really help you out, but if you do want to try and drift this thing properly without the gyro good luck, because it is a handful to control so guys. I really hope you enjoyed seeing this brushless sg1603 in action on its included drift tyres. I think the way forward is going to be turning it back into a drift machine compared to a speed run machine now, don’t get me wrong. Some people are achieving some really good speeds out of it. I think it’s better suited to drift than it is to speed, which is why i’m going to leave mine as it is now i’ve had so much fun with it today. I really can’t go back to converting it to a speed run car again because it really does put a smile on my face. I said it when i did the review and it’s definitely one of the best cars of 2021 and one of the most fun cars of 2021, especially if you’re on a tight budget cheers guys if you haven’t already be sure to subscribe to the channel like this.
