If you guys don’t know if this is the first time you’ve ever watched one of my videos or watched a video on this truck right from the beginning, i was building this truck around that bigfoot body. I’Ve done a lot of work. I’Ve got a lot of the parts that i took off of my slash 4×4. Ultimate, the reason for buying that truck i’ve already moved those onto the haas. As you can see, i’ve got the wheels and tires i’ve even got the body mounted. So what i’m going to do guys in this video is i’m going to start by showing you guys what i did so basically, this is kind of the end of the video but it’s also the start of the video, if that makes any sense but i’m going To go through guys show you guys what i did show you guys some of the parts um the truck is not finished. I should kind of clarify that it’s a good portion of the way, obviously with having the wheels and tires and all that kind of stuff on it, but um this has been guys really really fun and i’ve enjoyed it. You know working with two brand new trucks so having the slash 4×4 ultimate, removing those parts off installing them on the haas, which was also brand new uh, has been really really cool, but anyways guys let’s get into the video all right. So, as you guys can see, i did most of the part swap off camera.
I didn’t think i’d make you guys sit through a time lapse. Watching me, remove you know the rear carriers and the steering knuckles the shocks all that kind of stuff. I just went ahead and did that i will go into it more in depth a little bit later on in the video, but what i want to do first is i’m going to show you guys. This is probably the only unboxing on packaging. However, you want to put it in this video just so i can show you guys this. This is the body mounts for the wrestler 4×4. Obviously they will also work on this truck since they have the same towers and it was funny. This was one of the last parts i could that i had to get everything i ordered uh from all the other shops that i deal with. This was the one thing that wasn’t in stock, so i ended up having to order this one part from a shop pay like ridiculous shipping and all that kind of stuff, but whatever i finally have it. So i can go ahead. Get this installed get the bigfoot body on as well as show you guys the tires that i went with so what i’m gon na do is i’m going to un package. This show you guys what’s all in it and get it installed now i feel like i should mention this guys at this point right now in the video.
I have no idea if these mounts – and this you know, system from pro line – is actually going to work and do what i want it to do. I haven’t seen anything on it. I haven’t seen anybody use it with the body i’m trying to use and all that kind of stuff, but i have seen you know: proline’s website shows one of their bodies on it, even though it’s a lower profile body i’m, hoping it’s going gon na work. These are pretty big towers, even though they’re bent a little bit um everything looks you know: it’s gon na be kind of a simple install guys. So, as usual i’m not gon na make you uh sit through it or anything like that. But what i’m gon na do is i’m gon na get this installed and then we’re going to see if the body is going to work all right guys, i’ve already got the front mount started and i’m on the rear. One right now and the only thing i wanted to show you guys is to get to these two screws down here. You do have to remove the bumper, but you don’t have to take the whole assembly off it’s. Just two screws right here pop those out. You can just kind of jiggle this thing out and then you can get to these two screws. They do give you hardware for everything in the in the kit and these ones. Obviously, you have to really use because you’re putting an extra piece on so you have obviously a lot longer screw type thing.
So just make sure you definitely use the screws in the kit, but everything’s going together, guys easy peasy i’m going to go ahead and put the bumper back on start, attaching the posts and see. If i can get this thing to line up and get my ride. Height, hopefully, the way i want it because really that’s the whole plan. I went with this kit because i wanted something that looked as you know, sort of stock as possible. I didn’t want to just jimmy rig something to make it work. I wanted it to be as clean as possible, so that’s why i went with it with this kit all right, so i went ahead. I’Ve got the mounts and the body posts on i’ve installed all the hardware i’ll bring it in. So you guys can check it out. Definitely guys looks clean, i like the setup and what i think is even cooler and i’ll, and i will check guys in this video. I want to know if i just remove the four posts. If the stock host body will still connect like still be able to mount um with just the extra hardware here, which i think it will, i can’t see why i wouldn’t so that’s kind of cool, because you know the bigfoot body is more of a show body. I don’t really want to demolish it or anything, so the fact that i’ll be able to just pull the four screws and then throw the horse body back on, and even if i want to throw the stock haas tires on, i can do that run it as You know a stock, haas or a, i guess, an ultimate hoss, but then throw these posts back on and be able to use the bigfoot body and the other tires and stuff, i think, is pretty cool.
But, as you guys can see, i’ve got all the parts installed the gtr shocks. I still need to do. The sway bars i haven’t installed those yet and i haven’t installed any of the telemetry parts or anything like that. Yet there’ll be one part. I think that i won’t be able to use just because of the diff uh, because i won’t have the slipper clutch in there. But besides from that um, you know the track’s a good portion of the way done. I still want to do the black chassis it’s crazy. When you see these two trucks um – and i know i think i did it during the haas um unboxing or sorry – the slash 4×4 unboxing, just how much better the black chassis looks. I i feel like a broken record. I think i’ve said it more than once, but it just really does look a lot better. I actually bought a pot um. I think, last weekend because my wife didn’t want me to use any of hers. I bought like a cheap pot so that i can actually do the dyeing and stuff like that. So now, i’m, just kind of deciding, if i’m going to buy another haas chassis and do it with a brand new one. Well, technically, this is brand new too, and if i ruin it um at least i’ll i’ll kind of learn from my mistake and then pull this one off, and hopefully you know not make the mistake with this one, but um anyways guys.
This is how it looks right now and i’m – definitely very, very happy with it. I, like all the parts i like all the blue i’m still going to be doing the servo that’ll be coming up guys in another video. I have this it’s a reefs 422 ounces. I had originally bought this servo for a creighton exp, build that i never did so i’ve had it kind of kicking around so i’ll, be installing that and what i’m going to do now is we’ll get the tires installed. I’Ve already mounted the body, so i know it fits and it’s all lined up. I actually did a great job of the whole thumbs up to me, but i’ll do that right now, so that you guys can start seeing this thing completed. So i went with the pro line destroyers. These are the 2.8. I should say this guys. These tires are discontinued. I really had no idea how they were going to look. I just i had seen them one time in a picture and i wanted them and i kind of spent some time looking through the hobby shops and i found them um. I like them just because they’re a little more, you know of that conventional monster truck. Look! So, even something like a masher that is, you know, sort of a chevron style. You know it’s got that deep kind of pointy lugs. These just looked more like a monster truck tire to me, and i was trying to go with kind of the you know, beginning bigfoot look and if some of you guys know what i’m talking about basically before it went to the big huge massive monster truck where It was kind of like you know the truck you could sort of build in your backyard.
Um, you know, have you know, like 44 inch tires type thing on it, that kind of a look that’s. What i’m going for, but again using this body, which did come later, um in the bigfoot hole cycle and stuff, but it definitely guys looks awesome. These tires are not as tall as the stockhaus tires so and they feel actually lighter when i was kind of in installing them and stuff, which makes me think that maybe i could gear up a little bit. Um i’ll see, but i do have plans of using the stock house tires as well and stuff like that. So i probably won’t touch that but i’m gon na get the body on now all right guys there you have it. That looks really good um. You know nothing against the stockhoss, but i wanted to guys right from the beginning build something around this body and i wanted to build it on a truck that, for one would you know kind of line up properly, so the wheel bases wouldn’t be all crazy or Anything like that yeah the host is a teeny, tiny wee bit longer, but nothing crazy. The body still you know, looks proper on it. Uh and two. I wanted to build it on a fun truck. So, with the haas having the bigger motor uh, you know the center differential, all those kind of goodies and everything else that it comes with. I thought hey. This would be a great truck to build on and then doing the upgrades so tearing down that slash.
4X4. Ultimate and upgrading all the traxxas parts just makes it that much cooler. What i’m going to do now, though, guys is i’m going to change the tires i’m going to put the haas tires on, so that you can see the stock haas tires on the bigfoot body, but then i’m going to do like i mentioned i’m going to pull Those body posts off and just see if the hoss body fits it, should i can’t see why i wouldn’t like having those pro line mounts still there, but pulling the actual body post themselves off so i’m going to swap targets. Let me know in the comments what you think: i’m really liking this. I i kind of wish i didn’t because that’s why i bought the other wheels and tires and search for them and all that kind of fun stuff. But i actually really really dig the black chrome. I think it looks really good on there with those colors uh. You know. Obviously those tires are going to work really really well too so i’m kind of uh kind of torn. I don’t really know what to do right now. I like them both um. Obviously the other ones are more of a monster truck. Look. You know they’ve got that you know chevron, style, tire and stuff like that, but this this looks pretty mean but uh. What we’re gon na do guys is we’re gon na do like i said. I think this is the third time i’ve mentioned it.
I’M gon na pull those body posts and see if i can get the stock cost buddy on there all right, so the body does not fit and it’s not until i went to put it on that. I was like. Oh my god. How did i forget this? When you put the mount on right here, this is actually the slot where the body would go into. So where that you know the piece that hangs down would go into this blocks. It so you’d have to do some weird dremel, and it would just end up ruining the mount, so that is a big fat. No, if you do install this proline mount, even though it looked like everything would clear be just because of the way this mount is and how this fits. Where again, that slot is what i’m talking about guys. Is this piece right here that thing right there? It would have slid in right here – and this is now blocked with this proline piece, so unfortunately that’s a big fat, no all right guys, so that was a bit of a bummer. I was hoping that by removing those four posts i just be easily be able to attach the stock body and go with it. Um i’m not going to go through the hassle of removing the cage and trying to find a way to you know make it fit. Just so i could use the stock body. What i’m going to end up doing is just i’ll purchase, another bigfoot body.
I wanted to kind of collect them all anyways, so i’ll use one of those bodies as my running body and then i’ll still have this one and whatever else i get at the time, um that i can kind of just use for the shelf and stuff like That again, i’ve mentioned this so many times. I just really dig this color scheme. I dig the old. You know ford body and stuff like that. I just really like the looks of it. So what i’m gon na do now guys is um kind of call. It quits for this video. I still have lots to do tuning the truck getting the the chassis dyed black um. Probably you know moving the uh telemetry stuff over as well as i’m gon na i got ta find some type of wheel widener. I don’t wan na go too much just enough that it’ll, clear the body and stuff like that, because even if i throw the haas uh stock wheels and tires back on i’m gon na get that rubbing. Just because this body is obviously a lot wider than the horse body, so yeah guys i’m i’m, definitely happy i’m loving the way it looks, i’m kind of torn between these tires and the stockhaus ones. I like them, both but anyways guys there you have it.
