Here got this thing all fixed up and uh. Looking like duo, most again, we got a brand new set of the pro line. Badlands mx tires on this thing. The buggy tires: uh got a new body on. It also got a brand new chassis underneath this thing that doesn’t have a scratch on it yet, and i say yet, but um yeah – i just kind of gave this thing a little bit of an overhaul recently and i got it all fixed up, because the chassis Was bent, the body was pretty badly busted up the tires blew apart i’m, hoping that these proline badlands hold up um. I haven’t been having too good a luck lately with success, tires on this thing or tires on this thing. Running on 6s i’ve been having a tendency to explode them and have problems and all that, but we are going to run this thing on my ubu uh 5000 milliamp uh, 100c graphene lipo i’m, going to take a 4s light bulb because it’s, the only one i Have right now with me, but we are down at the motocross track guys they are doing a little bit of work out here. So we’re, probably gon na head into the back section and not have a little fun back there with the typhoon success so stay tuned. Everybody well guys. I just started running it and i’m hearing a weird clicking noise coming from, i think the rear differential but i’m not positive.
It doesn’t really sound exactly like a rear, diff i’m sure, if you guys can hear that, but we’re gon na run her and see what happens and we’ll fix. Whatever decides to break. I guess we’ll see how long the typhoon success lasts. She definitely doesn’t sound too good. It’S got a nasty click to it, but she’s still running good and it’s still moving. I can’t feel any slipping like the rear, diff or feel any gear slipping or catching so i’m, not sure where it’s coming from yet but i’m sure whatever it is, will rear its ugly face before we are done here have some fun out here. They stay in the whoops out here kind of fun. She rips pretty good. Well, the last time we sent the typhoon 6s off this jump. We landed in a tree out there, so we’re going to try not to do that, but i do want to give and rip off this jump man. I do not like that clicking noise guys it just does not sound good at all – still got nice air control. I was barely on it. I was only on about half throttle, but you guys can hear i’m sure that clicking noise i mean it is just horrible it’s not under braking it’s. Only on the throttle, which automatically tells me it’s the rear diff. But, oh it uh it’s still going. I have a feeling it’s going to be short lived though so we’re just going to rip it around here, i’m, not going to go too far back in the track.
I don’t think because i have a feeling it’s not going to last very long, it’s kind of a shame, because i just got done getting everything else fixed up on this thing and now you know i pulled the rear diff out of it and greased it. So i’m not really sure what’s going on, and i know i got the shims in there, so i don’t know oh she’s flying nice, though. Ah, oh still, on her wheels, i thought i was going to go retrieve that typhoon still flying nice, though ripper rip around a little bit here, fly’s nice typhon always jumps beautiful man. This thing sounds like somebody’s, shaking a bucket of rocks coming at you, oh man, didn’t quite clear, holy cow it’s still tumbling. They increased the height of this mound here and uh. I did not have enough speed for it. She took a nasty roll down over. There looks like it’s all in one piece give her another rip at this. There we go man, she was coming in hot too, but she more than cleared at that time. The first time i didn’t quite have enough speed coming at it. Oh, this just sounds brutal guys, but at this point i’m gon na wait and see what gives up. I looked over all the gears. There’S no rocks. You know there’s, nothing like that. I can’t find anything out of place. Everything looks normal, so it’s definitely it’s got to be a diff somewhere broken so we’ll figure it out nice we’re.
Getting a few more launches off of this one gon na maybe hit her with a little more speed. This time see we can uh what kind of distance we can get with it. Oh man, i touched to break a little too soon. That may not have ended too well nope. I can see now something’s broken in the front front. Shock eyelet probably looks like it’s yep blew the front shock eyelid off surprised. I didn’t break any arm it’s, usually when i always break but easy fix, but um. I don’t think i have any of these with me. I think i might actually be out of these because um i had been busting, some of them on the other cars and i don’t know if i got any more how to take a look but uh i’ll bring you guys back in a minute all right guys. Well, sorry, for the weird little cut in video here from the track um, i just got home here and was taking a look at the typhon i’m gon na bring you guys back i’m gon na take a look and open up the rear differential and find out What was going on with it or where the problem is, you know lately. This might be a small rant going on here, but you know something i was thinking about in a video earl moore had put up recently about. You know the cost of cars and you know what point do you draw the line on repairing stuff um? If you guys haven’t seen the video go check it out, you’ll see what i’m talking about on our moorhead’s channel, but um anyway guys.
So you know recently. I don’t know doesn’t really irritate me, but i don’t understand some people. You know people, i see all the time on these facebook. You know rc sites and arma sites and traxxas sites and all this different stuff on there posting up pictures and bitching. You know. Oh, i just bought this whatever this track. Is this arma? You know two weeks ago or a month ago, and i already broke this and i already broke an a arm and i broke a shock and um all this stuff and you know guys it doesn’t matter. What brand the car is it doesn’t matter? What car it is? They’Re, all going to break certain cars hold up a little better under different conditions in your driving styles and that’s. Just a fact everything is going to break you might own that car for 20 minutes and it’s going to break you could crash it hit something wrong roll it the wrong way and something is going to break now. The big difference is what you’re going to do from that point. Are you going to you know if this, if you’re, just starting out in a hobby, are you going to learn? Watch some videos look at the manual you know and figure out how to work on the thing: how to disassemble it and how to repair it yourself because that’s, you know honestly guys this hobby is 60 driving and 40 repairing it’s, not just all rainbows and sunshine Out there driving to cars every day and sending them to the moon and not having any problems, things break things break a lot.
You know it doesn’t matter what car you have it’s going to break guys. So my point of this was, is that you know anybody getting into this hobby and anybody that might be seeing this video that’s just starting out, learn how to work on them or you better, have deep pocket books and be taking this thing to the hobby. Shop. Probably once a week – or you know quite frequently, but you know look at your manuals, look watch your videos here on youtube. Look at guys. You know that put up the repair videos. You know i try to post up as many repair videos as i can. My time gets kind of limited with my work schedule sometimes, but i got a fair amount out there if you want to check them out, but you know learn how to work on this stuff and don’t, be afraid, guys, don’t be afraid to tear the thing apart. You know there’s a manual um online for all the charm and stuff, especially in the traxxas. You know it gives a full breakdown of the car, shows you how to repair. It shows you where the parts are figure it out, because if you want to stay in this hobby – and you want to be in this hobby, if you enjoy it, you have to learn how to work on it. You know you cannot, you know your run times. Are going to be shorter, your driving times will be shorter if you’re having to sing at the hobby shop.
You know every weekend waiting for them to fix it and get parts for it. I mean it’s. Just personally, i don’t think it’s realistic. So everybody needs to learn how to work on a stuff don’t be afraid of it guys tear into it, and you know, if you guys do run into a problem, ask a question: you know on somebody’s youtube, video or in on one of these facebook sites. You know if you’re having issues with a certain thing um, you know, ask questions figure it out guys because it’ll make the hobby a lot more fun and honestly it’s. You know if you’re handy and you enjoy working on stuff, especially it’s, a good time tearing these things down and rebuilding them and figuring out what’s wrong with it. So anyway, guys my rant is over i’m gon na bring you guys back when i figure out what is making the loud clicking noise in this thing turns out. I did have a shock shaft or shock end, so i got the shock fixed up but i’m gon na pull the rear, diff case and rear diff out of this and see if that’s, where the issue is and i’ll bring you guys back when i figure it Out all right guys! Well, i have figured out the issue, so i pulled the rear diff out real quick, looked over the teeth, didn’t look too bad a few spots that are kind of marked up and they looked slightly worn down kind of hard to tell but didn’t look quite normal.
There’S some scratching going in the outside diff case there, but it’s not too major at all so i’m, like okay, so where’s the problem. Well, i took a peek inside the diff case and sorry see if i can get some light in there. I don’t know if you can see up there at about one o’clock noon: area um. There is one two three four five five teeth missing in there, so that’s where the problem is the input gear actually broke this time, which is kind of new. Usually, you know it’s the rear, diff or the rear, uh diff gear, but uh. However, this time it was the input gear so i’m going to replace this gear with it i’m just gon na order a new spur gear, diff gear, whatever you want to call it and the new input gear all together as one so that they wear together. It’S always a good idea to do that guys. I know it’s a little more costly, but you know if you change one, if one breaks and you only change one out a lot of times, you know the wear um. You know the gears wear together. So if you only change one, they can put a lot more stress and cause the other one to break a lot sooner. So it’s not a bad idea to change them both out together, but um that’s. The issue i’m gon na get the parts ordered up for the typhoon here, it’s an easy fix, but uh i get the parts order.
We’Ll get this thing back on the road. One good thing about today is at least the uh tires didn’t blow apart. These pro lines held up so far i’m, not going to uh, give them my blessing just yet, but uh they held up longer than the other ones did but um we’re going to go back to the ending at the track. Video i’m at the motocross track now, but um that’s going to do it. For this part, guys we’ll see you down here, giant success. You know the thing’s always fun. It holds up, usually pretty good. You know on bad landings like that you are going to break an a arm and that kind of stuff is going to happen and um now she’s starting their pal. But i also got to take this thing apart and figure out what’s going on with the diffs um find out, which one is making noise i’m guessing it’s the rear one, the center one is locked up with a silicone ear plug. So i know it’s not that so it’s got to be the rear, so i’ll pull that out probably got some busted up teeth and we’re gon na fix back up again here, put a new shock eyelid on it and she will live to see another day. But uh chuck this chuggy buggy sorry can’t talk right now is uh. This thing is a blast. I love this car it’s a lot of fun it’s a great jumper.
You definitely do need a little bit smoother surfaces for these things, motocross track on the nice smooth days like it is today it’s, not too bad, but when it gets rough down here, these lower buggies.
