If it’s garbage you’ll be told, it’s garbage. If i’m impressed with it, then you’ll be told i’m impressed with it, uh we’ve got a claim top speed of 60 kilometers an hour. So we’ve got the uh sky, rc gps, uh, speed, logger, so we’ll be able to verify that and it’s a nice little rc. It’S, a very good price and it’s quite interesting, because this is a 114 scale, so you don’t need as much room for it. The one the centers comes with three batteries and they are the 2600 milliamp hour 2s it’s a brush motor it’s, a built in esc and receiver in one it’s got permanent four wheel: drive there’s, no slipper clutch or center diff, so you’ve got a drive shaft running To the front and rear diff, so let’s get it unboxed and see what we’ll make of it right. So what do we get in box? We get a little usb charger now. This is rated at the input you’re going to need 5 volt and it’s half an amp to 2.5 amp, so this is going to want to plug in if you’re plugging it into a pc you’re going to want the usb 3.1 standard. I believe it is and above if you’re charging it off a power, brick you’re, basically looking for something that’s got up to 2.5 amp output and it will say on bottom of the usb power brick um. The charge rate is 2 000 milliamp an hour at 7.
4. Volt, so you should get one of these charged depending on how low you drain it in about an hour hour and a half. Something like that right, you get a little plastic, wrench and i’ve tried this, because i were a bit skeptical at first, but you can actually use it to undo and fasten up the wheels and i believe it also fits the shock towers, not sure how long this Is going to last with it being plastic, but you can use it to tighten up and change the wheels. We’Ve got three 2 600 milliamp hour batteries. With this one 2s we’ve also got the m2r racing. Um control now can’t find any instructions whatsoever on this actual radio there’s nothing mentioned in here how to use it other than the dual rate for throttle, which can back the top end of your throttle down and the trim foot steering um you’ve got power on off Switch there but you’ve got a mode button and i can’t find anywhere what that mode button does. So if anybody knows drop a comment below you also get quite surprising what’s in the instructions. There is a quick basic setup guide and then there’s also a breakdown of how every bit of the car fastens together. So if you’re needing to repair it or anything like that, all the instructions are there and then towards the back is the part numbers and the packs that every single part of the car comes in now i have had a look on banggood for spare parts.
For this they are dirt cheap. I think the body is about 10 10 pound delivered or seven, something like that. You can get all the spares really easy. You can also get pretty much every single part of this car upgraded in aluminium and they do do full packs. So i believe the pack is currently around 79.99, but that is for everything, the a arms shot, towers and they’re all anodised, and i believe they do it in blue black gold and red. So modification wise, you can go absolutely crazy with it. There is a lot of parts on here as standard the i’m, really surprised that you get them and you get the adjustability. What you do for the actual price that this is so let’s see if we can go through uh, try and get a zoomed in shot and see see just what we can show you on this one right. So, starting at the front, we’ve got fully adjustable mounts for the bottom of the shocks and tops we’ve got fully adjustable threaded shock bodies, all metal which is nice um you’ve also got full universal joints on the steering end of the dog bone of the drive shafts And dog bones on the diff output cups on the front fully adjustable turnbuckles, which is a nice touch, it’s c hubs with brass inserts, so that should extend the life you get out of the moving around to the rear of the vehicle again adjustable positions on the Shop bottoms, the shock tower tops so they’re multi hole, adjustable turnbuckles you’ve got adjustable mount points on the rear hubs for the top links and also multiple position which should affect the roll center.
I believe on the shock tower for the top tie rods our adjustable tyre rods and if we pop the uh body off, i have to excuse the bit of velcro it’s, where we’ve got gps. So moving along to the inside that’s, your antenna, don’t chop this top bit off because that’s the actual antenna, um we’ve, got a brushed motor and i believe it’s a 550 can size, but it looks to be a smaller rotor, because it’s got a built in uh Fan so the motor case is a 550 but i’m not sure what size road was in there you’ve got an aluminium motor man. You’Ve got an aluminium center. Shaft drive shaft. Now, if you can see that not sure how well camera i’ll pick that up, you have a esc and receiver all in one, then you’ve got a four wire servo and i believe there’s some guides online. If you wanted to convert this to brushless with a separate esc and receiver i’m sure there’s a few guides online about converting the four wire servos to a three wire, if not i’m sure there’s uh places where you can get a servo that’ll fit in there. That would be three wire. Should you want to go that route um? Something of note the motor mount from what i can see in the instructions is a fixed position. So if you wanted to change the gearing you’d have to find a pinion and spur to allow you to change the gearing because it’s non non movable motor mount.
You have got on the a arm, pins, there’s, metal, retainers on both front and rear of the front and front and rear of the rear, and one other thing to make a note of when you originally get this it’s set up for a 1500 milliamp hour, 2s Battery now, if you look they’re the mounting points for the end of the battery tray, but it’s also got some extended ones. So what what i’m gon na do with this one is take them two screws out and move it to the top point and i’ve seen a few comments online saying once you do that your velcro straps, not long enough so i’ll show you what you need to Do to the velcro strap, so you don’t have to buy anything else to make it actually work with these batteries. A couple of other things: you’ve got a metal link between the two steering towers and also a fully adjustable servo saver armor pay attention because you don’t even get that on any exp creighton. Now it’s got in the front and rear according to the instructions they are metal house diffs, which is quite impressive, but let’s see what we can do about swapping this uh battery tray to a different position, all right, so we’re going to start off with those two Screws and just drop them out quickly now i’m, not entirely sure if this is just how this one’s set up or if they’re all originally set up for the uh 1500 milliamp hour batteries.
But you want to take that out, move it from the lower position. All the way up to the end of the chassis and the top two mounting holes, see if i can get these lined up, and i have given this rc a good look over and i’ve not found one loose screw or cross threaded screw or anything like that, Which is quite impressive for a uh, very cheap um ready to run so certainly from uh. From my experience with this one, you can literally take a map box charging one and off you go right. So with this battery tray and the velcro, if you slide the velcro out, and then you want it with the grippy side and the velcro side facing up slide it in the battery tray loop, it back over itself. Put it through. So you’ve now got the fluffy side and the grippy side still on top, then we’re going to want to pass it back through the front and then you’ve got a battery tray and velcro that you can fit let’s get battery right away around. You can fit your battery in, you, can tighten it right down and then just stick the velcro back to itself and then that fits nice and solid, so let’s power it up and see how we go and you do have to supply your own double a batteries. Four of them for the actual remote itself, so you press and hold that little red button to turn it on and turn on the remote and then it’ll start flashing and as soon as you press the steering turn the steering it links up.
So let’s have a look: what we’ve got so there’s, no steering adjustment for end points or anything, but the servo’s not struggling lock to lock so it’s, not straining at all in any way see if i can get you a shot of that and it’s quite quick Steering so servo’s definitely up to the job now throttle wise got a good bit of power for it for a little brush setup to us. So you’ve got forward and reverse if you’re going forward and your hip reverts it’ll break and then press reverse again and it’ll go backwards. So the thing i like about this for for the price you could definitely see beginners looking at this, but for the adjustability. I can see how someone that’s a bit more seasoned with rc i’d, get a lot from this, because you’ve basically got the same adjustment points as you’d have on like a racing buggy or truckee. So you could literally buy this and then learn what adjusting camber and everything does. What laying the shocks further down does and changing the roll center and you’ll see straight away what it does to the handling of it. But the other thing is we’ve got this one. So it’s the throttle jewelry and it’s fully adjustable. So if i turn this down and then it full throttle, you can see, it greatly reduces the actual power of the rc, which would be great for somebody learning somebody who’s just getting into rc and it it’s infinitely adjustable all the way up to full power.
So definitely something that would come in useful if you’re, just new to rc learning it or been away for quite a while and a little bit rusty, but fantastic car really adjustable um aluminium chassis on it as well. The tires i’ve got foam in them, but they’re nice and supple, so let’s get it out for a run. Let’S have a look. What a’s internal resistance is they’re, not bad, pretty well matched 18 and 21 millions, uh let’s, try b, 18 18 and i think the final one’s in d, 17, 17, so yeah quite quite well, matched right. So you’ve seen what the car runs like you’ve seen what i think of it before we’ve, been out for a run. Um you’ve seen what the batteries are. Like i mean i’m quite impressed to say you get three with them, and the internal resistance is all pretty low on them. Um and they’re all really well balanced. I did run the rc uh run it till lvc kicks in which, if you don’t, know, that’s the level at which the receiver cuts the power off to stop the lipo being damaged, and it cut off just above 3.3 volt per cell, which is around 2 at Battery, which is perfectly within safety, 3.3 volt per cell as long as you don’t run them down anymore than that you’ll be absolutely fine. Do not run it down on lvc and then leave this connected because on any rc, you’ve got a very slight power drain and ultimately it will totally drain the battery and then neither this charger or like the sky or cq 200.
Once the voltage is too low. You’Ve killed your battery, you can technically power it as a nin for a few minutes see if it can bring it back up, it’s, not advisable, it does work to a degree. But if you drain the lipo batteries too low you’re already making damage to the cells themselves, so up to you whether you want to go that route of reviving a battery or not, i find it better just to not flatten them in the first place, but handling Wise really really surprised with it. Um i’ve got it quite a bit of bashing around we’ve got a good few scratches and everything on here nice that it’s not really damaging the a arms at all it’s, just landing on the back of the chassis, which it should do um, but really impressive. Little rc really well made there’s a whole bunch of upgrade paths and if i remember i’ll, put a couple of pictures so around here somewhere, um, so i’ll put a few pictures up for the actual upgrade patch you can buy for this. I’Ll leave all links in description below and i believe banggood are running a special offer or sale from the 7th of july to the 14th. So i’ll get you the clip the link and leave it below.
