This is the undercarriage I built in the last episode. This is a lessee who is the manufacturer. This is their a radio controlled version of the cat, 3 7 4 FL, which stands for F and large. 在我看来, excavator and I've decided to go a crazy color scheme. Here my son automatically loved it, 答案是肯定的, when he saw it, as did some of the viewers that are like that looks exactly like Iron Man or some derivative of Iron Man. Some people disappointed that I didn't go with the cat, 黄色, but I've. Never very I've never been very typical. So here it is look at this. This is a very unique feature I loved putting this together. This is a scale hydraulics tank. This is where the hydraulic oil is going to come from and return to. There is where you fill it. There is a breather hole, there is a magnet on top and there and it closes like that. How cool is that so that's on one side, then I did some building for a piece that goes on the other side, and people noted that I was probably putting it together wrong because of that corner. Sticky note right there, and this is why it's so important to me to paint all sides of my RC parts before I assemble them just so. I know that it'll look like it came from the manufacturer. You know if I wanted to get a real good scale photo or scale video.
I want to make sure all sides are painted. So little parts like that that jut out you know aren't noticeable or they are. You know raw in color. Now the next part is, is they want me to start putting together the inside? This is like the cab if you're a modeler, you're gon na love, this kind of thing, the joysticks, the arm pads everything fits together. You have to glue it. It does come 3d printed, so if you're really like a keener and you're into it – and you want to take a week to sand it and glue it and do all that paint it. That is something that you can do and you guys are like what you're not going to show us. You know you could you saw the raw pieces when I unboxed it and I figured instead of letting you guys watch paint dry. I would just introduce my cab to you guys you can see. I did some detailing. I wish I had a computer decal, so I could put it on the viewing screen there, but those pedals are plastic, but the rods are not they're metal and everything glued together. Pretty well, I did some individual painting on it. You know make it your style, I think that'll fit in pretty well and then, once you get past that I'm sorry, I know some people want to see every single detail of me building it, but something like that.
You know it's just more personal for me to do off camera, so next, we're gon na be looking at building the cab so I'm going to need, obviously the cab section, which was already pre painted black, so this section over here also these are the windows they Come protected, 答案是肯定的, wrapped already you can unwrap these when you're ready to go that's what she said: oh we're, gon na need these super small hinges right there and, 答案是肯定的, a whole bunch of tiny bolts. 是的, and so when my six year old said to me, it looked like Iron Man, you know like any dad. I'M gon na start making my excavator look like Iron Man, because I believe, as my son puts it, Iron Man was the bravest of them all sacrificing himself for everyone else, and then I thought I'd build an Iron Man. I seem to need to change the name of this project, possibly no trademarked. 好, so one point two size, nuts, one point, two sized bolts with the hinge that goes into the door frame that is supposed to be into the glass as well. So let's have a look at this glass which one is it looks like it's going to be this one. Does this have any holes drilled into it? 不, so how does the glass sit in there? It'S, probably just gon na have to have double sided tape in there or something the other one had to is well.
I almost want to leave that because I scratched the last one, as everybody may remember, I might leave that covered for a little while. So here is a look at that small hinge, with only one bolt done up and just as a point of advice from having built these before use a lock tight on these very small screws. I know or thread lock whatever you want to call it, because if you don't you'll find that you'll be in a big pain in the butt later on when they're getting loose okay, so this part is confusing, even though I keep coming back to this look at This this is supposed to be a handle with a magnet and a screw. That looks like it goes straight through the glass which is actually plastic and here's that piece right here, but I don't see any holes drilled into it. Like I see here, and I don't see any holes drilled into the doorframe, so where the hell does it go the next piece, 好, 酷, so we're, going to take that same piece that I was just looking at here and bracket, which is g5 Joe Joe Joe G5, is it one of these? Is it this one right here, these aren't labeled, which would be a little bit easier but they're fairly simple, to see yeah that's it for sure so we're just going to attach this glass with for 1.2. 4 screws. 3. 6. 9. This is still a ma ASMR.
If I swear in the background cuz, I can't get the paper nope. There is only eight and speaking of super heroes post up in the comment section now what your your favorite superhero is like if you've got an actor that played a superhero in a movie post up who the actor is and what they played and because they know They'Re gon na have like lots of up clicks right, you're, probably going to post like Val Kilmer as Batman was the best ever I can't even get fat sags. I know that's bull and I would agree that in Tombstone and in a few of them he was pretty damn good can't forget about Top Gun man. It was like the best movie of its time. So here comes this very unique piece that I painted this gold color. You guys might recognize this color from another, build that I've done recently, but I think this will actually go along with the brass very nicely. I hope it does we'll see. This is an insert that goes into the cab right there once that piece is glued in then it's time to move on to this other piece. This other piece of glass you'll frig this up, because you'll have glue on your fingers. No doubt from this piece right here and then you're supposed to stick it into there sandwich it in between the frame of the front and that back frame right here with this handle that I have pre painted to sandwich it together, we're going to be using these Longer em two sixes look at all the bolts to hold just those in place.
Nice all hand turned as well. People say why don't you use a electric device to help you get through this, and I got ta say that doing it by hand is just as good, if not better, and another 10 minutes passed by well next step nice. So now we get to attach this door to the cab like that nice. So I know some of you who'd be questioning my color choice right now, going ah who puked on your excavator and I have faith. My friends, I think it's gon na turn out a pretty awesome. Look at that the glass when I'm good, I didn't, put the glass in on this side or on the door yet or back here I want. I want to get the proper, clear tape. Double sided tape, so it'll have a nice inset there, I'm, pretty sure. If I use any CA glue. What'S gon na happen is it'll just smoke out that plastic. So I can go ahead and take my interior and slowly put it over like that. 你好. Welcome. So it's gon na look like that and for the bottom of the cab I'm gon na need this plate. This is actually what's going to be attaching to the whole turntable. Eight little screws go in to mount this bottom plate to the 3d printed inside cab. Then the final mirror assembly and that gets hung off the cab. So we can see what's going on behind him yeah.
The book says glue in those windows, but I don't know alright next step, so we're gon na be building the hatch now I'm gon na need this little stack, this safety bar and finally, this hatch cover which needs a magnet as you can see, and a couple Hinges but I already attached it and the stack and the hand railing to the top portion right there cuz. I know we'd all like to see this move along, so I did a little bit of that off camera. 是的, I know it looks kind of silly, but at the same time I can easily see the hatch I know exactly where it's at and everyone can feel safer on the mine site. So we don't have a safety inspector back on YouTube gold. Next page, 好, more doors and hinges man. This makes for some exciting viewing. I'Ll tell you that much it's been like five minutes of footage for you, three hours of turning screws and putting small hinges on for like very little progress for me. But I love watching everything come together, including that cab Morris welcome. What do you think man yeah, that more and more like Iron Man, I wasn't sure about the gold on here and I think the viewers are questioning it. What do you think even more hey? 嗯, I can't have it look too much like Iron Man cuz. I called it project. Johnson, 嘿, give me a big smile, 好, and so here is the result.
Each one of these doors has two four six seven screws six nuts each and there are three doors. So each door has an inner magnet and they all have these hinges now, that's just to attach them on one side. I still have to do the other side, but thankfully we get to move on to the carriage where everything is going to set up and beyond. So black is what I chose here. You can see with the cab over here. Everything I think is gon na come together and look pretty darn cool what's. The first thing that we have to do: 好, so these brackets one two one is going to go here and then the other one goes right on top of it, but angled forward, so that L bracket goes forward and then the tiniest screwdriver. This actually comes with the kit to put the opposite polarity magnet for the door right there giant crane lifts, the carriage turns it around and then I'm going to install two more magnets one on either side. Now here is one of the le lights. I just put it together: the LED light goes in behind and it's gotten a small hole that actually gets screwed into the chassis right there and it's a protected light through the grille nice. Now monster fan number one and I'm gon na need the m320 s. I'Ll need four of those and the nuts and we'll put it in the first Bay right here there we go perfect.
好, then we mount up the doors on either side. So two four six, eight ten twelve more screws I'm using the needle nose. So you guys can see what's going on. 哦, I just realized a huge mistake. I use the longer screws on these inside hinges, which is causing it to catch on the inside. I use the point 5s. Instead of the point threes, I have to do all the hinges ahead. This keeps getting better. I just changed all the screws and then I'm like okay, 棒. Why isn't it closing, and then I was realizing that the hinges go on the inside. I have to do all those again. This is like my own personal little piece of heaven right here. So have a close look here because I know there's people building along with me, and this is super important and took me a lot of time to figure out, even though it does show it in the instruction book it's. Just do you know you got to be paying attention and I clearly wasn't. So the one point for the or pardon me, the one point, two asterisk four bolts go here and they go from the inside out and the nut is on the outside. Then the one point two asterisk three goes on the inside, but the bolt goes from the outside to the inside, where the nuts will meet up, and that is how it is done. This is the size difference and man.
These screws are super tiny. I know what's happening you're, always thinking that this is because of what I said about Val Kilmer and I take it back. His best work was by far willow as mad Martin, and then we showed close both doors for cooling. 看啊. I got a little bit of an alignment issue up here and I've been trying to figure that out but I'm sure it's, just gon na take some finagling off camera or maybe, when everything comes together, it'll flush up a little bit. But there you go two cooling doors, one on either side and one on the other side makes three all right here. Is this piece which is the ESC, tray or electronic speed control tray? This is what everything's gon na sit on, and that is gon na sit right in front of that. One fan like that: 好, next I get to bust out the valve block we're, getting close, my friends there's the pressure relief valve on the side. This is the hydraulic block. 一二, three four five six servos can be installed only going to need one two, three of them to begin with wow. That is beautiful, absolutely stunning. I love the setup already now. This kit comes with the servos hello, servos, 很好, to have you here with us today and then this bag is actually the servo horn. This is what's gon na open and close. The hydraulic valve blocks I'm gon na do the set screw on the bottom and on the top, as they indicate in the instruction manual, which is weird because normally I'd like to plug these in before I cinch anything up, but we'll follow the instruction book.
For now. This is gon na happen on all six of those servos. Now we take this servo and the horn will focus it up there. So you can see the flat spots on the bottom let's pan down to the block. Look at this beauty looks so white and pristine. I just immediately want to defile it with some dirt there pops into place like that I'll add in the two screws on top two in the bottom, two four six, eight twelve fourteen twenty eight screws. Just for the hydraulic block not including two set screws per horn, then I attach the valve block stand with six more screws. Each valve block gets attached to the stand. 现在再次, if you are building along pay attention in the instruction book, because it shows you switching out that straight fitting that came with the block to this 90 degree, mm5 angle, fitting for the hydraulic tube and this beauty will sit right in there. The holes line up how come my holes aren't lining up? Oh did I do this backwards? Somehow, oh I have the plate on backwards. Dad I got undo all six screws again. 哈哈, quick flip around and now those holes line up perfectly. You must be wondering. Why would you have all these extra hydraulic blocks in here? If you only need you know to curl the bucket and to move the the mast and the boom really and and that's, if you want to have different hydraulic options right, I noticed this end, one right here sure bumps into this.
This ESC holder there, you couldn't, really get any lines on this final one, so you'd probably have to cut this down. Somehow I may do that before I actually put that in, but I don't know why you'd have to cut it. I don't have any accessories to put on there right now, so I don't know we'll see how it goes so now, they're calling for the hydraulic pump and this small bar right here and this bar is this one. So let's take this out, take out the pump and have a look at it. Where does this bar get attached right below the pressure indicator? 好, whew there is my pump and motor with that pipe attached to it now, there's the pressure indicator I'm glad I didn't cinch that down yet, because that lower fitting is supposed to come out and that's where that brass pipe gets put in. As I start putting this together I'm getting the feeling that I'm not going to want to cinch any of this down inside the chassis until I get all those hydraulic hoses run properly, but here you can see it cinched up. I just want to make a comment: I've said this before in the last one, but if you're using hydraulic fittings, I use a lock tight five four five thread sealant to help prevent any leaks and now enter in this little doodad. This is actually look at this. The palm the size of the palm of my hand, this is actually a hydraulic oil cooler.
My friends, this is the second fan that will be installing this bottom receptacle is actually going to be hooking up to the hydraulic tube that's coming out right up there on the block, it's gon na get attached here and mounts up on the bottom, and then this Top one, as you can see in the diagram, if we flip back here yeah, so the diagram shows the oil cooler. The bottom tube goes to the block and then the block in the brass tube hooks up to the pump. Then the pump is gon na. Have one that comes off the side and into the upside down hydraulic oil tank and then the tank is gon na have the one that goes back to the oil cooler. So this is as long as you can understand what you're looking at it's, pretty simple let's start getting on get into it, and there we go so here is the top tube that has to run to the hydraulic tank at the front enter the hydraulic tank. Here we go so here are the two fittings underneath we're gon na follow this picture. I know it might be kind of hard for you guys to understand, but this line right here that's on the top it has you put in a 90 degree fitting in it, looks like it just loops around which is kind of silly, because this is being a Cooler, you need a an in and an out, and so, if you follow this drawing it actually shows you looping the hose underneath to where it gets hooked up to where the tank is going to be so, keep in mind.
You'Re gon na have to keep a long piece of the tubing to go and to go over the motor and to hook underneath to this fitting. Now I look at I know it looks kind of sketchy right now, but I'll need to do this off camera. Just cuz, I need to get both hands in there. There we go like that and then from this top side on Beth from this fitting on the pump here, use the remaining hose to go from there to the other, fitting that's, underneath the hydraulic tank and then four screws just to mount this right up front. Get in there remember a little thread lock on the hydraulic fittings. Now will save a headache later and so on. The bottom you can see the fittings are now hooked up and the tank is attached by these four smaller screws. I'Ve also cinched up the motor, so that's in there here is the return line for the the oil. The pump oh got a small crimp in there, I'm gon na have to shorten this up. You got to make sure no kinks in your hoses. No one likes it Kinko's. This is the only fitment issue. I'Ve seen so far is there is a bracket right here that butts up against this, the motor and pump plate, and then that line or that hole right there you can see is misaligned. So they tell you to use this slider, but they do.
They do show to put another screw in there, but it is I'm gon na have to drill and tap that myself. 好, this scene won't make any sense at all, because I ripped it all apart. I thought for a second upon reviewing this. This plate was backwards because the tolerance sure looks like if it would have been backwards. It would have fit a lot easier, but I think these holes in that slot were actually cut in the wrong spot and the tolerance is the wrong thing for the plate. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to notch this top corner. So I can get past the angle of the L there quick little notch out at the corner. They didn't have it apt hole there anyway, for that side allows me to put two screws in on either side, and I can now put that tube back okay. Now let me grab this piece right here and let me just quickly install the two fans that they're showing me in step. Fifty one, even though I'm kind of jumping back and forth a little bit here and they're gon na grab this guardrail that guardrail and this one they go on like that. Not bad, 不错! At all, I've been the motor wires out of the way for the pump, and then this piece, if I understand correctly yes, it would slide in like this. As the puzzle slowly comes together. What'S stopping me here.
Can I look see what it is. I need two hands for this again ha. 哈哈, the secret is to open the door first and then slide it over. That is looking fantastic, 我的朋友. What do you think I think that's where I'm gon na leave it today? That has been a Goliath amount of work, but you know what just because I know there are so many people that are still watching, because there was a few thousand people that actually watch the entire episode last time. Thank you for the enthusiasm. Let'S. Not let you down, I know it, doesn't call for it yet in the instruction book and I'm not quite finished, but we'll put the cab on like that, give it a little bit of a spin around and yes, 答案是肯定的, let's come full circle. Look at this right at the beginning of the episode we talked about this square door right. Why would it be square when it was molded like that let's spin this around now that we have a better look at what's going on the missing tooth just like Morris? My son, there gets put in I'm sure I'll be able to flush that up, 答案是肯定的, and and really make that look the way it's supposed to as soon as I get it cinched down with the screws. 看看这个, I would love to tease you this don't know I'm, not doing it. No next episode, we're going to be working on the hydraulics we're gon na be working on the electronics we're gon na get all these hoses in we're gon na install the boom and the Rams I'm gon na tease you with this.
We all were wondering about this gold piece and, of course I painted the Rams look at this. You guys would be like you barely painted the Rams they were brass before, but now they look absolutely fantastic. So I think on the on the boom and the mast itself, they're gon na look great guys. Thank you so much for all the support and helping this show continue on. After all this time there it is we'll see in the next episode of RC adventure.
