Team Corally Kronos V2 Review
I mean i’ve run an awful lot. I actually bashed a little bit more um than i would to my other trucks or cars or even buggies, because i really want to test the durability of this. I had the version one about a year ago and it just didn’t hold up guys. I mean i had all kinds of little minor issues and stuff like that. Stuff was always breaking, but this one has proven to be worthy compared to the version one i mean i haven’t broken one part with one exception on this, but i’ll explain that to you guys in just a minute, so just first off with it. I do like the paint scheme. I do like the way the truck looks and it has a big mean monster. Truckee type. 看, so i do love that about it. I think team corali did a good job on this. 在我看来, on the paint scheme of the body and stuff – and they kept the body structure as they did the version one, they just did with another paint scheme with it, which will also help you distinguish that between the version one. 所以, with this version two you can see, i have a version too. If you get a stock out the box based on the body, paint steam and stuff, so um first, things first is with speed. These trucks are faster. This particular truck is fast. It went 51 miles per hour on a 4s light bulb, and that was with some high rating uh smc light bulbs that i had up in there and then, when i went to 6s lipo, i couldn’t quite get it up to full speed with the stock tires.
Um stock tires have a really soft compound, but i just couldn’t do it. I had to. I eventually went in and i switched out the tires to some lower profile tires and wheels that were belted and stuff and, of course the tire diameter is going to be smaller than these, so it did decrease the top end speed, but it still, i was able To actually run at that time on 6s, but i couldn’t do it. With the stock tires on six, i actually had to change that out with it and speaking of tires. I did mention that the compound is kind of soft on it, but the tires never actually came off of the wheel, which i thought was a good thing, no matter how hard i drove it, the tires were ballooning and all that they never popped off or anything Like that, so uh that’s been a good thing with this. 在我看来, as far as just raw power, i mean i was just when i was running this. I was just doing standing backwards, as i was just going down. The street hitting throttle bam back flip back flip, and i did backflip out the backflip and it’s got some dents and stripes in the body and stuff, but the truck held up well throughout all that. The one problem i did have was the pillow ball in the very front right popping out pop that several times, and eventually it just kind of wore that plastic up in there to where that couldn’t pop back in and basically i got to get it replaced.
I actually have the parts up in there and i’m actually going to replace their probably later on tonight or tomorrow and clean this whole truckee up and stuff as well. But the truck did well. It did really really well and i only had a bend in the rear drive shaft um with that you guys can see that there, when i took it to the bmx track. I did launch it several times and i think, as i was launching it, some kids were talking to me. I didn’t film uh, the last two to three jumps and i kept landing on the rear of it. 那是, probably what caused that bend there, but the chassis did not bend. You guys can see that there with the chassis there was no bend or anything there in the chassis. So i was surprised about that. 所以我, just gon na take my hammer out and just smash that dog back into place so it’s straight and then go at it from there, but other than that. The truck is held up. 嗯, i didn’t have any overheating issues with this as well. I know with the version one: a lot of people talked about the overheating issues, but they did change the gear ratio. I believe the version one had a 46 spur and this has a 50 或 52, but it’s got a higher gear ratio um to compensate for the weight of the truck in these big tires and wheels.
So that is a good thing and it’s got a 13 2 penny grain. I think that out the box. I think anyone would be fine running this on 4s and if you do 6s it’s just going to be mad crazy and it can actually handle uh. Some of the abuse that i took it through now, i know a lot of you guys are super bashers out there and stuff, but i think it’ll be fine. I think that one thing that team crowley needs to do for this truck if they do um another version, like a version, three is work on those pillar balls in the front. Maybe either make those bigger or make that plastic smaller so that those pillar balls won’t pop out or anything with that and possibly do a chassis or um a tower to tower or center brace for it as well. I think that’ll give it a little bit more stability and stuff, but electronics is fine. It does have a high voltage servo in it. I did run it one or two times with the um uh voltage on the servo turned up and actually oh, i did break one part. I did bust the servo gear um. I was doing crazy, backflips and stuff, as i was running down the street, as you guys know, and i did um end up um chipping one of the metal gears inside the servo. Excuse me there for that. So that was one thing that actually happened with that.
I got to get that gear replaced, so if i did break apart, it was something in that servo but that’s, a minor issue with that and i did actually get that replaced, but everything else has been fine. The electronics are actually really good in here, and i think that contributes to some of the speed of this truck as well. It does have a 2050 kv 电机, but you guys see the way these wires and stuff are um connecting directly to the speed controller. They are 6.5 millimeter bullet connectors, so that does help with the current and stuff. For so, i think that helps with the speed and stuff as well and kind of the way they got this kind of geared and stuff, not just the pinion gear, to the center diff, but also the internal gears and stuff as well. That also plays a part in speed and acceleration and stuff for that, but other than that guys, i haven’t had any issues with this truck. The radio and stuff has been good. The distance has been good just that one uh pillow ball on the very front. Just popping out once it popped out, i believe that the skatepark, then it kind of uh, did it a few more times on some pretty big jumps and then just got to the point to where i was running and jumping just popped out. But i do have a replacement i’m going to put up in there for that so that’s going to be some of my first run thoughts on this.
I don’t want to drag this out too long, but the truck has been good guys. It really has now. It runs you at 5, 49 嗯, most of most 8 规模. Trucks and truckees are getting in that over 500 范围. I mean whether it’s i’m going to be arma. Excuse me our traxxas you’re, going to pay over 500 dollars for an eight scale truckee. So you guys some people are saying: oh things are too expensive, but that’s kind of the nature of the market right now is most truckees and trucks are over 500, and is it worth it? 在我看来, it is. I mean whether you get one of these or something else, you’re gon na pay that price so just know what you’re getting into with this, and with this truck like i said you do not need uh 6s with the 6s is just wow crazy. I just i don’t know it’s like putting a v12 engine inside. I don’t know um inside my bed or something like that. Even though i can handle it, it’s just going to be a lot of power and driving it day to day so guys, that’s going to be some of my first run thoughts on this. I think the truck is good. I think they did a good job on it, no issues with uh, bending of the chassis, no shock breakages or anything like that. I did go ahead and add some thicker oil to the front differential um.
I went with 50k in the front. I think uh standard out the box. It comes with 10k. I just didn’t want those tires to continue to bloom, like that and i believe it’s uh 10 in the rear. It may be 100 in the center and then 10 in the front, but i went ahead and went with 50 in the front that seemed to kind of for me, be the sweet spot for this. So my next thing is going to be a servo upgrade for this and then i’m going to try to look at some possible different tires for this. 我不知道, but i kind of like the way this looks and the tires have held up pretty well running on concrete um and running in hard pack dirt, so they didn’t they did not really wear down anything like that. A little damage to the body and stuff but that’s to be expected how i ran this truck, so you guys there’s gon na, be a link down below in the description. I got this from tiny adventures, rc um. They do carry the whole team karate line up there as well, and they also have at the time of this video. There are two new ones as well: um they have the jambo and then also the shogun out so uh difference between this and the shogun is going to be minor differences. I may pick up the shogun at some point to show you guys but it’s, not too much difference.
As far as the two trucks go, i just going to be tires and wheels in the body. They may have changed the gearing on my shirt. I got to look. I got to look that up to see, but that’s going to be some uh after one thoughts on this stay tuned. 答案是肯定的, of more videos of this i’m gon na run this against a couple, my other truckies, so you guys can kind of see those out there and see some of the performances between this and some of my other truckies and stuff as well.
